The Portal Panic Lounge

((Talking to Kaida is fine. But it's not going to take a few days for the waiter to list the specials, it'll happen in this post. On average, I update PP once per day.))

KAIDA & CHRIS
"Today we have an excellent smoked pink fish meal which includes and entire pink fish, three vegatable dishes, fresh bread, and a special seasonal drink. There's also today's Black Hole Mystery Meal. Today's mystery meal theme is the tangle, but that's all I'm allowed to say about it. Would you both like specials or would you prefer some time to look over our fine menu?"

Chris doesn't have much time to look at the menu before the waiter starts talking but he does notice that it's mostly divided up into various meal sets (as opposed to individual items), though there's also a large drink section.

Mickey shrugged casually. "I feel like I should know these things, but I have no idea."

[Winters Rage]

"Ok, thank you. What is the seasonal drink?" He asked hoping it was something he would like. "What do you want Kaida?" He asked looking at her, but could really only see a rough out line of her, nonetheless barely read the words on the menu from earlier.

[Kaida]

"I don't know, I'm not that big on fish." Kaida said to Chris. "We'll look at the menu for a bit thanks." She said to the waiter as she looked at the menu.

[Winters Rage]

"I do like fish.... but I'm not one for making very good decisions, but, for me, I guess I'll try the fish meal." He said to the waiter, then gave him his menu and watched her look over the items. "I guess you kinda gave up on the whole 'looking for sanlon' thing then and decided to eat instead?" He asked. "Just curious and all, but, why the really fancy blue dress?" He wondered aloud to her.

Meh, that's alright. Sira said. While I'm waiting I got a good opportunity to find out what the games are like. She nodded in the direction of the tv. Y'know, it's pretty cool that they have this. I kinda thought that being aliens they'd have different technology than us. She stared into space for a second. Unless aliens got impatient with us an implanted the idea in our minds. That makes Zworykin or Farnsworth look a lot less impressive. She gave a slight laugh.

"Certainly." the waitor nodded. "Just push that button," he motioned towards a small button near the center of the table, "when you're ready."

The meal sets are divided up into the following catagories: birds, seafood, and meat. Kaida didn't recognize the names of the meats, birds, or seafood. All of the meals came with a drink of some sort (the names of which she also didn't recognize) and several side dishes, most of which involved seasonal vegatable and/or fruits. ((If you'd like, I can list some of the specific entries from one of the catagories though, as most of the meats, drinks, and vegatables don't exist on Earth, I'm not sure if it will help much.))

"Ok, thank you." He said to the waiter, watching him leave. After he left, he asked Kaida in a worried tone "Wait, how are we gonna pay for this and all? I highly doubt it's free... and I really don't want to make you pay for this, but... I don't carry alot of money around with me..." He checked his pockets and hoodie "Actually.... I don't have any right now, I wasn't carrying any when I was abducted..." He said.

[Kaida]

"Yeah, the team is awarded money for completing each round and anything we have to eat or buy is taken out of that." Kaida said looking over the menu. "Actually I wonder if there's a way of keeping track of it. I should ask Sanlon." She said more to herself then anyone else. Kaida put down the menu as she finally decided on one of the meat meals. "So you ready to order?" She asked Chris.

((You can just give me something random. Same with the drink too. ^_^))

"Oh, cool, and yea, I'm ready. I'm just gonna get that pink fish meal." he said. "Ooo!! Can I press the button??? Pweese?" he said with puppy eyes that probably couldn't be seen due to the lack of light and his hair.

After pushing the button, the waiter arrived to take their orders. He returned a short time later with their meals.

Chris's platter had a plate with a large grilled, neon pink, fish (it's slightly sweet, with a smokey taste to it), three vegatable items (which looked and tasted something like: a bean sprout salad, roasted seaweed, and a sort of saltier take on mashed blue potatoes). The drink is also pink, very bubbly, sweet, and makes you feel slightly woozy when drunk.

Kaida's platter contained a glowing steak (tastes about halway between beef and turkey) and three sides (a purple berry sauce, a very spicy orange salad, and the same blue mashed potato like dish as Chris). Her drink was black, tasted vaguely of licorace, and seemed to have alcohol of some kind in it.

He took a sip of his drink then stated "Heh... I guess the age limit for 'achol' is lower in space..?" then looked at the potatoes "Oh!! blue!" he stated, then took a bite "Yum... very good! and the fish looks delicious!" He stated in a slightly woozy way.

[Kaida]

"It's delicious, the food that is. I'm not really a fan of alcohol." Kaida said. The most she'd ever had was a sip of her dads beer when she was a kid, and even though her friends liked to drink and go to parties she had no interested in getting drunk and making a fool out of herself.

[Winters Rage]

He takes a bite of his fish, now over his woozy fit, "Yea, it is really good, and I don't think it's really alcohol, maybe something similar, but not alcohol, it's probably fine, but if you don't wanna drink it, I wont." he said, reassuring her.

[Blastotoise]

Marley stepped out of the portal, barely remembering any of what happened. "I think we won..." He said to himself as he went back to his room for some rest.
