You don't necessarily have to hand control of your character over to anyone in particular. Faus only did so because her account got eaten by the Time Warp, and Marley...has gone completely MIA, I think. We can pretend your character tags along as we continue the roleplay, not doing anything particularly noticeable, but still there. Until you're ready to pick him up again, of course.

Oh, crap. That sort of puts a dampener on my plan. I picked the wrong world to join in on. If magic doesn't work, neither would a shadow puppet, and thus the end of my last post has no meaning.

Oh, Poik. You can still use magic, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that no one else in my world can. So expect people to be a lot more shocked when you use it.

I'm confused now. There is no magic in this world. Which would imply there is no magic source (call it mana, whatever) to draw from, although I guess a magic link from another world could get around that, or a nullifying force perhaps. Or maybe I'm over-thinking things, and they just can't use it. Oh. I realize what you're saying. I made him recognize me as a magic-user. I'm sloow. Okay. Hmm....

Yeah, you could say that he has a magical link to another world, or that there is mana in my world but we don't know exists, or that a wizard did it.

Okay, I'll admit I've been needlessly nitpicky about my world. I'm sorry, it's just that this is my first time creating and controlling a setting in an RP. So to make this easier for everyone I'll write down a few basic facts. Y'know, I really should have done this in the beginning.

Alright so basically we've got Ancient Egypt, and that means Pharaohs and everything. But, let's cut out the slave labor part. We're currently in the Nile area, so there's trees and vegitation and stuff. Desert's a little ways away.
The town's your average town, marketplace and all. Most houses look kinda like this. Just the backyard's much smaller and the house's compressed into two stories, not longways. My house looks like that.

Alright. I hope that helps a little. If I'm micromanaging too much, let me know.

Also, I have an idea about the source of magic thing: According to Asprinian Theory of magic, magic comes from force lines, which are like magnetic laylines(sp?), these force lines vary in number for each world(some have alot while some could have 1 or 2) and are distanced accordingly. In other words, the more force lines you have, the more magic, and the less you have, the less magic.

Does that make any sense at all?

hmm... I prefer to think of magic as more of the power your patron god or goddess has given you. Say, when I unleash a lightning attack, it's not magic, it's the holy power of Zeus. When Eskay unleashes a blizzard, it's because of the power that her god has given her. So, that means that in order to unleash the power Poik's deity has given him, he has to say some words to make it work.

Well, a Saber Knight's powers come from their respective gods. However, there is magic outside god powers... maybe, in this world, there is no "mana source", or whatever. However, you were able to use magic because of your god powers. Or something. I dunno.
