Hm. Haven't ranted in a while. Rant alert.

Today was my 4th (it probably SHOULD be closer to like the 7th, but the rain feels like being a jerk) softball game of summer leauge. I. Still. Have. Not. Gotten. A. Hit. AAWOIEGNAWOIEGAOWGNAWPEJIA <- me slamming my head onto my keyboard in frustration.

Sure, I've been walked a few times, but my batting average is a FLIPPIN' .000. NO HITS!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGG!

It's.... soo..... incredibly... FRUSTURATING. On the freshmen team, I was one of the BEST HITTERS ON THE TEAM! I batted 4th or 5th in the lineup, a good location to be. NOW I'M DROPPED TO THE ****ING BOTTOM OF THE ORDER!

I'm wicked competative. I'm even competative with myself, if that makes any sense. When I start to do terrible, I kinda start to hate myself, which makes it all that much harder to do anything right. Today didn't help. Second to last in the order, and I played 3rd all 7 innings. Now, that's not a bad thing, it's just that I only got the chance to make one play. I made it, but the ball only came to me once the ENTIRE game. That on top of the fact I haven't gotten a hit this season made me feel kinda useless. We won... but I really did nothing to help that. I hate it.

And I can't figure out what's wrong with my stupid swing. In batting practice, I do just fine, the coaches say my swing is good, and I can send the ball flying wicked far. When I step up to the plate, though, it seems like everything falls apart, and I have no idea why. I was fine during freshmen season! I could sent it far into the outfield. Now all I can do is hit stupid popups and loser grounders to the shortstop and 2nd baseman.

I am so incredibly frusturated right now. I really feel like punching something. Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to go from one of the best players on the team to feeling like you're totally useless? Yeah. It's bad.

(and, just on another note, do any of you guys say "wicked"? As in, "that's wicked awesome!" or "he's wicked weird."? I've been told it's a New England thing, 'cos I say it a lot.)

Wow, that's rough. I'd say I know how you feel, but I've always sucked at sports And I've heard a couple people say wicked up here, but it's not something people say all the time.

AAARGGHH! Been a while since I've ranted, but now I am REAAALLY pissed off.

Okay, so, today we received our schedules in the mail. Fun, right? It should have been!

MY SCHEDULE IS SO MESSED UP! I'm taking a year round course, 20th Century studies. 1st block every day. Cool? Cool. Except, 2nd semester, every other day I also have gym 1st block. HOW DO YOU MESS THAT UP!? How can you give someone TWO classes AT THE SAME TIME?! I don't have a time turner!

Alright, alright. We can get that fixed... just take away that gym class, because I ALREADY HAVE IT 1ST SEMESTER AS WELL! AARG! I'm supposed to have it ONCE the entire year! Not once 1st semester, and a second time during 20th Century Studies 2nd semester!

Okay... okay... just take away that 2nd gym! Yeah, too bad it's the WRONG gym class! I signed up for the other one! Instead, they give me the wrong one... TWICE!

Alright... so, take away the 2nd one and get the 1st one fixed. No biggie! WRONG! 1st semester, I have TWO STUDIES! I'm not even supposed to have one! Y'wanna know why I have two studies? THEY TOOK AWAY MY CHEM CLASS! No chem... JUST TWO STUDIES!

Okay, then replace the studies with chem! Too bad the studies are during different blocks every other day! Yeah, I'll just take chem for two blocks in a row every other day instead of one block every day. NO! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!

Alright... we'll move your gym class so that you have that every other day, and during the other days you have band. That's normal!We'll move chem to last block 1st semester. NO! FAIL! I need to have chem 2nd semester, after I take Algebra. The teachers told me so, that I'd need the math! Bio needs to be 1st semester, not 2nd!

I... am so pissed off. They're going to have to do so much to fix it.... it's infuriating. *sob*

...and, y'wanna know what's worse than THAT messed up schedule? That they can only PARTIALLY fix it!

I don't have chem. There was no room in any of the classes, which sucks. I still have a study. DO NOT WANT.

One of my studies was replaced with Performance Art, which should be fun....but I'd rather take away that and my study and get chem. Most people take it as a junior... unless you're with my group of friends. Most of them are taking it as a sophomore. It's gonna be AWFUL. My friend's gonna be ahead of me, because he has more classes than I do this year! DAMN IT!

....there is a slight hope...I'm still clinging to it....if someone feels like dropping out of chem, then I might be able to get it. I'd also like someone to drop Spanish III 4th block second sem. so I can take full year band, since a bunch of my friends are in the 2nd sem band and I'm only in 1st sem.

DARN BUDGET CUTS! They had to lay off so many teachers... I HATE THIS!

As previously mentioned I got a free copy of Windows 7 Pro and figured that, since it was free and has been getting lots of positive reviews I might give it a try. I didn't really want to format my whole computer though, just upgrade. Thing is, for no good reason that I can think of (business or technical) you can only do a direct upgrade from Vista to an equivalent version of 7 (Home Premium to Home Preimum, Business to Pro, Ultimate to Ultimate, etc). I had Vista Home Premium and 7 Pro. See the problem?

So, the only ways to avoid formatting my system would be to either change my Vista version or uprade to 7 HP instead of Pro. I could get a free copy of Vista Business butV Vista can only be upgraded to a "better" versionand HP and Business are on the same level (just aimed at different markets) so I couldn't switch my Vista to Business. However, with a bit of work I could get the Release Candidate version of 7 HP, install it, and then upgrade 7 HP to the better 7 Pro. So I installed the 7 HP RC. The upgrade went fine and all my data and problems carried ovr without problems. Then I tried to upgrade to Pro...and it wouldn't work. As it turns out, you can't upgrade a RC version of 7 to official release copy of 7 (once again, for no good reason). And, since the RC is a pre-release build, it would eventually stop working (cause the RC is free and they naturally want people to actually buy Win 7).

Without any other options, I finally had to just do a fresh install of 7 Pro (could have gone back t Vista, but I would have had to start from scratcg either way so I figured I may as well go with 7). On the bright side, it actually dumped all my old files into a seperate folder so I was able to copy nearly all my data files (and some of my programs) out of there, which saved a lot of time. Something I'd be a lot more pleased about if it weren't for the fact that I know Win 7 could have just as easily carried them all over fully but just didn't want to. So I copied wha I could and started reinstalling everythig else. Fortunately, I have a CD wallet with me that has the discs for my mst imporant programs (Office, my Adobe stuff, etc). Unfortunately, I forgot that most of those programs require activation keys, which are in the manuals or CD cases which are back in CO... So I had to spend a ton of time online looking for keygens to fake them out. In the end, I got everything except a couple games working. So that went pretty well, though it was a huge time waste. As it stands now, I had to stay up nearly the entire night but I've only got a couple program left to install befoe everything is running the way it should.

Still, Win 7 had better be pretty incredible considering all the trouble I went trough to get it working.

I feel miserable. My best friend is also my ex. We went out for a good year and a bit before breaking it off because I was working so much I really didn't have any time for her. We've kept in good contact and last winter we started getting really close again. By the end of spring, I was sure that it could work between us again, especially since I'm not working anymore. I bring up the courage to ask her out...and she says she just got a bf. Being best friend, I've struggled to deal with it all with a smile, to keep her happy. But lately when we talk it makes me feel terrible, it constantly reminds me of what I've lost. This stupid insomnia is driving me insane, I totally lost all rational thought at about 3 in the morning yesterday and sent her a rant email about all this and more. So now I feel terrible for sending that in the first place and she feels terrible that I felt the need to. She's suggested maybe we shouldn't talk anymore, which is a nightmare to me because she's the person I feel closest with. Why can't things ever just work out...

OMGOMGOMG I TOTALLY know what you mean! I'm in the saaaaame situation.... -ish. As in, my best friend is also my ex. We didn't go out for neeearly as long... but, meh. Over the summer, I got close to him again, and kinda wanted to try going out again, but then he told me he had just asked out someone else... lovely. That never worked out in the end, though.

:( To not talk to her would be awful. Yeah, I've had the same thing, just try and smile and be happy for them, but it's hard sometimes, y'know? *hug*

Sorry to hear you're in my boat Saber, *Hugs back* It looks pretty sure now that we're done - or, she's done. I desperately tried to keep contact with her, but she insists that not talking is the best thing for us (although she insists it'd just be for me, which makes no sense since I'm so against it). Well, life goes on. I've done enough chronocide today to last a good month or two.

I'm ranting about the Canadian Hindi that's going to the Vancouver 2010 olympics and WANTS US TO CHANGE OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM TO HINDI FOR HIM. Why? WHY? Why should we? Our national language is English and French, not Hindi, not Japanese, not Celtic, just those two! If we change our national anthem for him, we might as well change it to every frikken language in the world to satisfy all the immigrants. Look, you came to our country, change for us. We're not gonna change for you. Our land has so much to offer but still you bicker us for more that satisfies your needs? If you don't like it cause our national anthem is not in your language of choice, GET OUT!
And a radio show was nice enough to translate it for him, and apparently it didn't even sound close to our anthem. THE HORROR!
All in all, either like what we got or get the frik out.

I know what you mean. I was fine with them translating it for him, but apparently the translation is so ridiculously different from the anthem that I really don't like it. If it was at least a good translation then maybe, but the butchered version? No way.

So Colly... doesn't get good grades in school. Ever since middle school, she just kind of stopped caring, didn't do much of her homework, relied on good test scores and last minute extra credit to get through. That's how it's always been, as long as I've known her. I've offered to help plenty of times, being a year ahead I've taken most of the classes she struggled through, and being a straight-A student, well... I not only took them, but I aced them. She never really took me up on that, though. Just doesn't care enough.

Well... her parents do. And, see... we've been spending a lot of time together lately, since we work together and I've been spending a lot more time just in that area... slipping grades and increasing time spent with Silver means parents say, "You can't hang out with him any more!"

I really don't know what I'm here to rant about. Her parents, for assuming that correlation to be the reason for her grades and not the laziness that's always been there. Colly, for never accepting my help with school work no matter how many times I offered. Myself, for letting this bother me so much... it's not like they're permanently splitting us up, so why did I let this... hurt? It's not a big deal... it really isn't... and it's not my fault, either, so why am I blaming myself? Her grades, not mine... just because I was there, doesn't mean...

Geh. I really don't know what I'm here to rant about. All I know is... I'm p*ssed off.

You seem to have reasoned that out pretty well, Silver. And, as you've already concluded, it certainly isn't your fault. You offered to help, and she didn't want it. Unfortunately, stuff like this happens sometimes. Best advice I can give it not to constantly mull over it. Get yourself thinking about something else (school, video games, anime, whatever) to get your mind off it. Thinking about it too much won't change anything and will just leave you in a bad mood.

I agree wholeheartedly with Josiah. In my opinion, the best way to get your mind off of stuff is to hang out with friends. Comedies are great too, a good one always manages to cheer me up.

Ok, I'm applying for these hispanic scholarships and keep on thinking, "Hey! You! You don't really think you should use this, do you?" I am Hispanic on my father’s side. His parents came from Mexico to live in New York. My mother is white, however, and I feel like I don’t really deserve these hispanic scholarships. Genetically, I may be Hispanic, but I really consider myself white. I don’t suffer from any hardships or discrimination, everyone thinks I am white, and I act like a white person. The only thing that really clues you in to my heritage is my last name and the fact that I hold a really good tan. The reason why I feel like I don’t really apply for these scholarships is because I have not suffered any academic hardships because of my ethnicity. I even consider my ethnicity an irrelevant fact. I really feel that scholarships, grants, ect. should be considered solely on academic accomplishments and financial need, not because of ethnicity. Excuse me for being so brash, but I long for the day when we find sentient aliens so that, in a society with more than one species, race, skin color, and the like will be considered irrelevant. I suppose what I am trying to say here(even with that needless and flawed alien analogy) is that we will always have opportunities for minorities for the sole fact that they are minorities.

No offence is ment, but comments and thoughts are welcome.(I would also like everyone to type normaly so that I can quickly understand what is said. I'm sorry, but this delema is really serious)

I right agree wit that there senteament fella. Problem is, them villianous political correctness people don't be seein it dat way. So I's thinkin' ya might as well take what ya can get. Rise up an show 'em all how stewpid them skolarship requirements be! If ya could use the greenbacks, an yer ellegeble, go fer it. Better hurry it up though, since the werld's endin and alll...
