Part of that is that when we came over we killed anything deemed a threat, Astral. And now we're paying for it because the deer are smashing more cars than ever, at least where we are. And that's why I'll never subscribe to vegetarianism, I'm not removing another of the biggest predators of the American food web.
Anyway, hi peepz.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
Had a few friends over today. We went swimming in my pool. That was fun, even though my friend stole my pool skimmer and I spent a good deal of time fighting him to get it back. Later, we went go-karting. That was fun, too. We getted slushes and ice cream aftewards :D. Kinda hot and sticky out here today. Once we got home, we played Brawl, followed by Taboo. Awesome game. Once it got dark, we played manhunt. Me and my friend won all... 4 games, I believe. Yay. :D
No plans as of now for tomorrow, but me and my friends are trying to work something out... I've finished my math homework for the summer (not sure if I mentioned that). Still have to answer questions on Into the Wild, though. Band camp (IT'S FAKE 'COS IT'S AT OUR SKOOL) is next week.
And, Astral, you're the one with the funny accent :P

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Heso! Date with Colly today. Er... yesterday now, it's after midnight. We went to see Ponyo! Oh, Miyazaki... it was a fun movie - the old ladies were awesome - though kind of... confusing. Or rather, some things just weren't explained. So we have crazy old wizard who's like, "I hate humans! They pollute the earth! I'm going to destroy them!" and then a crazy acid trip magic sequence happens and all of a sudden he's like, "The world is out of balance! Little boy, you are the only one that can restore it!" So... yeah. He was still funny and still voiced by Liam Neeson though, so I forgive him.
Yeah... fun nerd date was fun. The only problem with our plan was that the local movie theater was not showing Ponyo, because they're stupid. So we found one a few towns over that had it... supposed to be about a half hour drive. Fortunately, we accounted for the fact that we would get lost, and so gave ourselves an hour and a half to get there. Ended up making it to the theater with fifteen minutes to spare. Do the math.
Getting back wasn't any better. In fact, it was... worse. We left the theater at about 9 PM, so by that time it was dark... Ended up getting on the Parkway going North rather than south. Got off at the next exit, and... ended up lost in Lakewood for an hour! Here's a little thing about Lakewood... it's pretty well known for its gang violence. Of course, they don't really cause trouble, except for members of their rival gangs: two biggest rivals are the Bloods and the Cryps. I bought my car used from someone that used to live in Lakewood. It has "Bloods" keyed onto the window. Um... So! Rolled down the window all the way. Nice night, anyway.
Problem with being lost. My sister had a friend over. Apparently, I needed to give her a ride home at nine. Yeah... no one told me about that. I had to turn my phone on silent for the movie, didn't really think to switch it back, and then... found that I had gotten about five calls and texts from siblings that now hate me. Friend is grounded because she didn't get home on time. And they're blaming me, which I appreciate.
But overall? Totally worth it. According to Colly's mother, we passed the official couples test: being lost in a car for 3+ hours and not killing each other! Don't care what my siblings say, still in a good mood right now~

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
I know since I'm the one in another country I'm the one with the accent, but it's fun to highlight the fact that lots of things here are so different. Saying that, I guess it's also important to say that there is so much that's exactly the same.
You, being an American, don't consider yourself to "have an accent" because it's normal to you just like in Australia everyone spoke with an Australian accent so I don't really hear that or consider myself to have an accent. It's only when you hear someone speaking with a different one that you notice accents. In reality everyone has one, it's all about your perception of what's normal.
It's quite pleasant where I am right now. It gets a slight chill early in the morning, but that's just normal I guess. The days are nive and warm. I need to get to Canada soon and get a job ASAP though. I already have it in my things to do that my first pay (maybe first few pays depending on how expensive things are) will be spent on warm clothes.
Even just regular clothes Canada, I've noticed after doing some laundry, seem to be thicker than Australian made stuff (seriously, Canadian made jeans are HEAVY when they're wet) so that's kind of an indication of the climate I guess. That's why I bought the bare minimal when I packed my suitcase. 1) so I can fit more crap I need to take in there and 2) I was planning to buy more clothes when I get there.
And I don't think the fact that all of nature doesn't want to kill you in North America can really be attributed to humans. It would be pretty dang difficult to wipe out as many species of spiders, snakes and especially sea creatures as Australia have no matter how aggressive the humans are. I just had a though that maybe because Australia's an island that everything is so unnecessarily deadly (I mean really, what kind of creature that eats small insects needs enough venom to kill a human in seconds?) is because they've had millions of years to compete with each other in such a small system. But then that doesn't explain the vast numbers of creatures in the oceans that like to hang around Australia... I guess they just like the climate cuz there's deadly stuff in other warm areas too. I don't know.
All I know is it's nice being able to touch nature with a bit less paranoia^^

I will just be thinking about it all day, not really lol. But today I'm just going to finish my project.

Hey.
Hmm... I haven't played Tibia in a while. I think I got irritated because, when you die, you not only lose a ton of items, but you lose exp and can even be downgraded a level. It's annoying, especially when it makes you too low leveled to use a spell you just learned... grumble...
Sounds like an adventure, Silver. :P Yeah, I've actually heard of Bloods and the Cryps. I remember once I was playing Tibia (MMORPG), and in Tibia there are guilds made by Premium accounts (Premium = pay to play), but non premiums could join. For a while, the two major guilds were the Bloods and the Cryps. The server I was on is PvP Enforced, 'cos it's fun that way. Basically, everywhere is PvP, except for safe zones like the bank and temples. If you attack another player, then (for like a minute or so), you cannot enter a safe zone nor can you log out. If you kill one, I think it's a bit longer. Anyways, that's the only bad thing that happens for killing someone in PvP Enforced. So, yeah. Dangerous walking about in normal cirucmstances, but with the Bloods and the Cryps, even more dangerous. They wouldn't always attack non-members, but there was a good chance they would. I never joined either gang, though. I remember someone else made a guid that was the police, and they went around killing Bloods and Cryps as well :P. It was a pretty amusing time to be around. Watching "gang fights" from the saftey of a bank was amusing.Silver wrote:Getting back wasn't any better. In fact, it was... worse. We left the theater at about 9 PM, so by that time it was dark... A few things:
1) I went on a date to see Ponyo just as Silver did (except it wasn't with Colly-chan), and agree with everything Silver said, but have some things to add: for example, why were the old ladies not at all fazed by, say, being underwater?
2) White_Samurai's signature is far too large. Just throwing it out there.
3) Started my job training yesterday. Working at a Buffalo Wild Wings that's just opening up. Let me tell you, these people really care about customer service. Some of the trainers flew in from Minnesota (which is a long way away).
4) Medabots RPG is one of the best games I have played in a long time.

Heso! The old ladies weren't phased by it because, except for Toki, they were old and senile. Why else do you think they weren't phased by seeing a fish with a human face? They were practically blind, of course. But that Toki, she was a sharp one.

Hi! I wish I knew what you guys were talking about but nobody I go to movies with wants to watch it with me. Guh.
On the topic of movies, District 9 was decent, I suppose. It's supposed to be an A-rated movie...? I liked the ending and the explody.. bits. I don't know, I guess I liked it.
We're going to watch Time Traveler's Wife today. I liked the plot of the book although I don't think I ever read it... I hope the movie doesn't kill it or become entirely romance-focused. o___o'

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! I want to go see Ponyo but I've been too busy so far. Might be able to sneak it in tomorrow or Thursday but more likely I'll just wait till early next week when I'll be done with school and on vacation in CO. I did finish all my projects though! Just a few more classes and a couple Japanese tests and I'll be done. Though, now that I don't have to spend every waking non-class moment working on projects, I actually have time for video games again. Though I have a few chore type things I've been neglecting that should probably be taken care of before I leave...
On the topic of Miyazaki movies, what's everyones' favorites? I've seen all of them except Pom Pokor and Ponyo (and have DVDs of all except those and Princess Monoke) and my current favorite is Howl's Moving Castle.

'Ello. Out of all the Miyazaki films I've watched... eh, I don't think I really have any favorites because they're all so freaking awesome. >___>
I think the closest few I can get to "favorites" would be Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, or Howl's Moving Castle.

Hi
I just found out I have Bandmaster's Competition, A.K.A. THE Competition on Halloween. There goes my last chance to scare Elementary/Middle schoolers. *sigh* And I can't even have fun and sing Halloween Songs(Grim Grinning Ghosts, anyone?) because since it's THE Competition, we're supposed to be all serious and have no fun. Well, I suppose I could do that after our performance, but by then we'll be all tired.
Hey Saber, does your school have a final competition as important as Bandmasters where people from all over the region come over to compete?

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Konbanwa.
My favorite Miyazaki film is Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind (although the angry Ohmu scare me a bit). Most of the others I've watched either gave me nightmares (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky) or were really cute but didn't impress me that much (Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service).
I scare easily, yeah.
Aside from those listed, I've also watched Howl's Moving Castle and Porco Rosso.
I was highly amused to find out that some One Piece seiyuu were in a few of the films (Luffy in Castle in the Sky, Usopp in Kiki's Delivery Service, and Nami in Porco Rosso), but that's rather off-topic. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
