Books/Series you've been reading Recently
Well we have afew topics with similar names in other places but not books. This might help give the book section some attention :)
Anywa, I've just got done reading Angles and Demons and I've got to say WoW. That was a great book to read. Very well done and I was not expecting several things to happen in the book. Must read if you havn't read it yet :)
Next I'm going to try and finish the Dark Tower Series...

Currently reading Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce. She's one of my favorite authors. After I finish this one, gonna read the 2nd (and final) book in the series, Trickster Queen.
May the Triforce be with you.

I read Angels and Demons a couple years back. The whole mystery and puzzle were pretty good, but I felt that the characters were a bit flat. Plus, I dislike how Dan Brown likes to pass off all this stuff he made up as historical fact. I did some research on the Illuminati after reading it, hardly anything he says about them, their members, things they left behind, etc in the book is based on historical evidence.
Anyway, I'm currently reading House of Leaves for my Interactive Fiction class. It's weird...

I'm currently reading Rocket Boys/October Sky, so far it's a nice book and a great story.

Yup yup, starting on Lord of the Rings. But do you think I should start with The Hobbit, first?

Couldn't hurt, but it's not really neccessary to understand LotR.White_Samurai wrote:Yup yup, starting on Lord of the Rings. But do you think I should start with The Hobbit, first?
Re: Books/Series you've been reading Recently
Yeah, reading The Hobbit before the rest of the series doesn't really give you any incredible, absolutely necessary information (although I love some of the riddles in it!), it's more of a just-so-you-know-how-it-started sorta book.

Rania - Female; Type: Water, Grass; Abilities: Torrent, Overgrow; Attacks: Tackle, Curse, Razor Leaf, Bubble W/L = 5/0
Karst - Male; Type: Normal; Abilities: Keen Eye, Guts; Attacks: Tail Whip, Scratch, Defense Curl W/L = 2/0-

Re: Books/Series you've been reading Recently
I've read The Hobbit twice, once in 3rd grade and once in 6th grade. In 6th grade, I also played Nori the dwarf in our school's production of The Hobbit. This year, incoming 9th graders have two choices for summer reading (haha, we didn't have to do any summer reading last year, I mock them). One of the choices is The Hobbit.
It's a good book. I'd read it not just to kinda look at their world, but because it's a good book.

It is good. The pacing is very different than LotR though, just so you know.

Recently finished both The Law of Nines and Warbreaker. Both are good.
