Well duh. But I'm saying that the chances of them hiring one of the two special effects studios that could actually do a good enough job is pretty low.

I'm guessing the movies Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter got the good effects studios. Unfortunately, Chronicles of Narnia and Eragon weren't very lucky to get the best studio.

Peter Jackson, the guy who directed Lord of the Rings owns Weta, one of the two best special effects studios. The other in Lucas's Industrial Lights and Magic. Harry Potter did not have a good studio (which is why the effects really aren't that good, particular the monsters and broomstick flying). Ditto with Eragon, though the effects were the least of the problems with that movie... Naria had actually had ILM doing their effects and, because of it, all the creatures actually look very good.
