Do you call English muffins just muffins there?

But we also just call english muffins...muffins, or just hot muffin. It is used like bread over here, not for snacks or sweet, but in a main meal or for a sandwich. There really nice.

Because he wasn't born into the royal family he just married Queen elizabeth the II so they made him duke of edinburgh. The Bloodline runs through Queen Elizabeth's family, not Prince Philips. He could never be king. the throne was handed down to a queen, not a king and if they made him king, then he would be above the queen...so, they had to give him another title.

There are two different types of queens. A queen regnant is a female monarch who possesses all the monarchal powers that a king would have without regard to gender (our current queen is as such). This is in contrast with a queen consort, who is merely the spouse of a reigning king, and on her own has no official powers of state.

In england, if a man marrys a Regnat queen, he can not be a king (unless he is also of the royal bloodline), as this would put him above the queen in terms of power, he will always be a "prince".

The stone is part of the Imperial system of weights and measures used in the United Kingdom, and formerly used in several Commonwealth countries. It is equal to 14 pounds, or 6.35029318 kilograms

In summary, 1 kg is approximately 2.2 lb; 1 stone (14 lb) is approximately 6.4 kg

The "stone" is the unit used in the UK for weight.

For example, I got to Slimming Word and lost a stone in weight (which i'm slowly putting back on )

I heard someone say today that when people in North America hold their fork in left hand and knife in right hand and after they're done cutting they switch hands to put the food in their mouths, that they're actually doing it wrong and that in England the cutlery stays in the same hands the whole time. Is that true?

A quid is slang for £1 sterling.

For example, if something is 7 quid, it is priced at £7.

The cutlery stays in the same hands the whole time. When I eat I never change them around, however, I will note I also eat incorrectly by British standards. I eat with my fork in my right hand, but this isn't normal. It is normal for it to be in the left hand, and I never see anyone change that around (except children maybe)

Not sure if there's really a "official" right or wrong with knife and fork use. The reason a lot of people (in the US anyway) swap hands is because you tend to want to use your dominant hand (right for most people) for anything involving some measure of dexterity (ie. cutting with the knife and bringing food to your mouth).
