PETA vs. Obama

Post by Cheezdude »

I hate PETA. I've already made that clear in this topic, and this is another one of the times when they go to far. Obama swatted a fly, and PETA is all over it. Protesting, creating 'humane bug catchers' and Obama is getting so much blame for this.

It was a fly during a press interview, like anyone would, he swatted it. >,>#

I am a proud member of PETA! You know, the People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.

Anyway, isn't PETA made primarily of vegetarians and pet owners? Why would they care about a bug. I bet they'd defend cockroaches.

I'm biting my internet cheek on that one...I could so say something about PETA and cockroaches. Not once in my life have I ever been without a pet. I'm all for the prevention of animal cruelty, but PETA is just making things worse as they wipe their own names in the mud with their moronically fanatical ways.

Yeah. They definitely don't make themselves look good with stuff like this. There are bigger issues that they are using their time to tackle (seal slaughter, animal abuse) but the things that are getting the publicity are the stupid little things.

Even the ways they protest some stuff (connecting the seal hunt to the Olympics, the mascots are now bloodthirsty savages?) makes them look like fools.

Yeah... saw this on the Colbert Report both today and yesterday. It made me LOL.

I agree with the whole PETA-are-twats thing. Especially since these people are against animal testing even if it means finding a cure for AIDS. And also the boatloads of articles I've read involving PETA-celebs wearing leather, fur, and eating at West Virginia Fried Chicken. (Wait a minute...) Also, nobody talks s**t about t3h Governor General y'allz.

I'm no fan of Obama but this is just ridiculous. It seems like everytime PETA makes the news they've gotten even crazier than the time before. Ethicical treatment of animals is all well and good, but PETA seems to be trying to put them on the same (or in some cases even higher) level than humans. People like that don't live in the real world, they just lose themselves in their impossible uptopian fantasies and flip out when anyone disagrees with them (like some other groups which I won't name here to avoid starting a big political debate).

Heh. We all have a subject that we will defend to the death, Josiah. Not so literally, but we all have that one thing we will not admit we're wrong about.

I don't know about everyone, but I know what you mean. Still, PETA goes way further than most.
