Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
Yeah, I has no idea wut to go to college for either. But, it's no big deal, me bein' a freshie and all.
Well, it was exciting today. We had a quiz in science, and she told us to cross out the last 5 questions because she hadn't taught us the equation for it yet. But, on second thought, she said we could do them as bonus questions. The first one was easy, we'd learned it in 8th grade. m/v = d. The 2nd through the 5th ones were about moles (as they relate to atoms). I remembered reading a brief little bit about them in our texbook reading a week or so ago, and on that I guessed how to do the first two problems. I gave a guess, and handed it in. She took my paper, and stared at it oddly and I was thinking "she's probably like 'what the crap is this nonsence'?", but then she asked me "How do you know how to do mole problems?". Confused, I responded, "Uh, I just kinda guessed." She was all "Well, you did it right!" and I was all "sweet!"
So, that made me happy :).
Tomorrow, off to an elementary school during Spanish class to teach young 'uns Spanish. Woot.
I iz also gonna do Summer Leauge Ultimate Frisbee. It's only once a week, and bound to be awesome. Since I can fit it in my schedule, why not?
Ugh... what does have me a tad depressed, though, is that me and my boyfriend... well, we both really like each other and stuff, but the rest of the world seems to be against us being together. It's starting to get reaaally annoying. The friends that used to mock us about going out with each other before we started dating have just kinda made our lives more difficult. It's... hard to explain, but for me and my boyfriend it's just... awkward, I guess, when we're all hanging out together. It's really getting me down... 'cos we just can't really be ourselves like we can when it's just us over one another's houses. Ugh...

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
And I just realized I haven't read the posts since the end of May.
By the way, a space after ellipsis... is good. This, I believe, is because an ellipses adds a pause in a similar fashion to a comma, and, we can all agree, a space is needed with a comma. Capitalization is unnecessary if the next word continues the previous sentence. But:
...Space after ellipsis, awkward. At least it looks bad, but I do believe that's the case where a space is unnecessary.
That was from a while back, but this was from even farther: But when you actually met me I was throwing tacos at you so it hardly counted. Ah, but the New Year's party was fun.
Also, I think I've been sick since the senior class party during graduation night. Just mild cold/flu symptoms, but it's been messing with my energy and appetite. Nothing as bad as what Silver sounds like he has. I'm sorry get well soon.
Well, it's official. My best friend is in boot camp right now.
People like that sometimes like to just be annoying Saber. Tell them that they're bugging you, and if that doesn't work try to shrug it off. I'm sorry, but sometimes that's just the best one can do. I mean, I do annoy people myself, but I try to make sure that I'm not truly bugging them or taking any of my jokes too far.

Heso! For the love of God, DG... It's.spelled.Grammar. Both a's. No e. Get it right.
Also I didn't get sick from the rain, I was already sick when I went out in the rain for two and a half hours. Which probably wasn't smart.
And I'm going to the local community college for at least a year. Don't know about after that, but... because I'm in the top 15% of my class - 13th in fact - I get to go there for free. It's only a two-year school, but if I keep my GPA above a certain point for those two years, I then get to go to any state school for free. So...
And Saber: People suck, don't let them bother you. You don't have to hang out with them if you don't want to, anyway.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I usually get sleep problems when I'm stressed out. Maybe you should try taking some St. John's Wort Mandi, it's always helped me in the past! And Saber, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your friends. Also sorry to hear you're sick Silver.

Konbanwa.
I'm pretty sure it's not a sleep problem. I just...can't seem to stop myself from playing Mabinogi until 7 AM. - -'
And it's not even like I'm having that much fun, either. Half the time I'm online, it's soloing dungeons and mining ores, which is admittedly pretty boring, but I do it anyway.
Plus it's finals week.
I'm so horrible. ;_;

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Silver, I always spell it grammer(gram-er) because that's how I say it, grammar(gram-are) sounds dumb so ever since I was little I would say grammer. I also say a few other words differently. Does grammer really annoy you so much? Does it make you angry that I say grammer and not grammar? Do you not like that about me? Well, you wanna know what I don't like? Pidgeot. Thats right. It is just a rip-off of a giant crapping pidgeon with long hair. It is not cool and should have never been created. Swellow is much better and at least has a cool design. Swellow could beat pidgeot any day of the week and twice on sunday. What do you think of my grammer now, does it bother you like pidgeot bothers me!? Does it!? Grrrrraaaaaaaaaaaa!
...
I'm just kidding, but seriously, quit bugging me about my dang grammer. Or Pidgeot gets it.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
It annoys him (and me) because grammar is not spelled with an 'e'. Not all words in the english language are pronounced how they are spelled. Some examples are words with silent letters at the end such as 'hope' or 'bomb' or 'Arkansas'. Yes, it's a common strategy to spell words how they are pronounced, but come on. We've been saying 'grammar' three times a day for the last three days. You should know how it's spelled by know.
And another thing. I'm going to make this short, but you're just antagonizing Silver. He'll most likely ignore you, but it gets annoying when someone is trying to get someone else mad or angry.
I hope you're not taking this the wrong way, but like I said to Kako, I have to be blunt sometimes.

... Does DG's post kinda seem.. flamey?
Anyway, Dark Notsogentlemanly if you were in a spelling bee and asked to spell the word "Grammar" would you spell it your way then insult the judges dog when he said it was wrong? That's pretty much what you just did. Kinda pointless.
Also.. did you ever think you might be pronouncing it wrong? It's kind of more of a "Gramm-ah" than a "Gramm-err."

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
...Again, no idea what to say at almost 3 AM.
I tend to say "grammar" as a kind of "GRAM-arr." Except it's not as "arr" as a pirate kind of "arr," more like a weird blend of "arr" and "er" so...eh, whatever. I do spell it with two a's, however. Two reasons.
1. My instinctive spellcheck looks at the word and tells me it looks wrong, and then bugs me 'til I fix it.
2. Firefox's built-in spellcheck underlines it with a red line, which also bugs me (although in the case of certain words, like names or Japanese terms, I don't bother fixing anything. That line drives me nuts though)
If it really is difficult for people to use proper spelling and stuff, I have a suggestion. Try typing a post in a program like Microsoft Word, first. It'll underline all the misspellings in red and all the grammar issues in green. Once all the lines go away, copy and paste it into the forum post box then hit submit. It'd take more time, yes, but if you really want the Grammar Nazis off your case, it might be worth considering.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hellou!
My internet got cut off again. It seems that my internet provider unloaded a hailstorm of unfair charges against us that we refused to pay.
You see, while installing the internet to my computer, they managed to cut off our cable. Then, when we demanded that they fix it, they simply said it was the cable provider's problem, then slapped us with a huge installation fee. Then after rearranging our house in an attempt to fix the problem, we finally got our television back. Of course, the internet still crashed every few minutes and was generally slower than dial-up. We ended up uninstalling and reinstalling everything they did. Since the guy they sent basically screwed us over with his wiring, we decided to file a complaint and refuse to pay the installation fee. Then, they argued that they did installed the internet, and the cable was not their responsibility, which is about the equivalent of smashing down the door to fix your window, then blaming the manufacturer of the door. Later, they also charged us with "unpaid" bills from the last time we used them, such as the month they charged us with because they forgot to take us of the billing list, the claim that we did not send in our rebate, and so on.
So anyway, they came today and cut off the internet. Now I'm back on the laptops.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
That sucks Phonox! Reminds me a lot of the cell phone issues my mom had a couple years ago. Her phone was acting funny so she dropped it off at the store to get fixed. About a week later my mom got tired of waiting for a "your phone's ready!" call, so she went in. The employees there insisted that she had already picked up her phone. After about an hour of "chatting" with the employees, she went home and called Bell to cancel her cell phone. At the end of the month she got that last month's bill and paid it no problem. Next month another bill came in. And another the next. Every month she would call in and scream at Bell about how she cancelled her phone plan and how she doesn't even have the phone thanks to that repair store. This went on for about a year and a half! So yeah, we really dislike Bell. No idea why I remembered that story, but yeah.

Hi! Wow Phonox, that's pretty bad. My parents had a lot of trouble with their internet but at least the company was nice about it (took them like six or seven tries to fix it, but they were nice).
DG, I can understand you getting a bit frustrated since the local coallition for proper spelling and grammar has been very active lately. Maybe a little too much so, in fact. But the others are right. Grammar is spelled with two a's, even though it doesn't quite sound that way, and ranting about how it's pronounced and baiting Silver doesn't really solve anything. If you don't like being corrected, just ignore it or politely ask them to stop. But really, everyone is just trying to help. Heck, I used to routinely spell grammar wrong until Silver caught me on it a while back.
Sigh... I want to make some RP posts but I'm running late today (yay for computer problems!) and I have a thesis class meeting today (yay for complete wastes of time!). Sometime this week I'll try and post in everything though.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Everyone around here seems to be having a bad time lately. That's why we really need it to be Summer. Like right now.
Not much happening here. New furniture came, all in one giant eight by two by three box. The boys and their friend spray-painted faces and stick figures on it, cut out holes to see, and dubbed it the Fun Bus. The night they got it they walked around the neighborhood with all three of them under the box. All you saw was this giant box moving around, you couldn't even see their feet. All the while the rest of us couldn't stop thinking back to that old Spongebob episode.
Even my parents.
My younger siblings are a great source of comic relief.
