Kevin & Kell

Post by Giga-Gar »

Kevin & Kell is quite an old webcomic, starting September 3rd, 1995. It has since updating every weekday untill July 3rd, 2000, when it began updating every day and also began the full color strips. Now, the person who writes this comic has never missed a day, so it's sure to cause an archive panic. The strips are drawn like a newspaper comic strip, probably because the person who makes this webcomic writes comics to newspapers.

Now, Kevin & Kell is a furry webcomic. Now I know what you're thinking, "Not another one," but this acctualy playes on the it. Kevin, a rabbit, is married to Kell, a wolf, in a sociaty where the predators normaly hunt prey species, just like in our world, yet only loosley commented on in most furries. It has a story, but it's long and drawn out. It's definately worth a read through though if you want to waste some time.

My favorites are these strips:

Just so everyone knows, since this one got posted late (not Gar's fault, just saying) I'm going to leave it open for two weeks instead of one.

Acctually, you'll need those two weeks because it'll take you about that long to read about half of it.

I don't expect anyone to read the whole thing (or even half), the official rule is just that you need to read at least 50 strips before commenting.

Aura, you might want to consider explaining why you couldn't get in to it, so the rest of us know where you're coming from.

Well, I just couldn't really get into it. For me, the jokes were either too lame or just boring.

Yes. I haven't finished reading. This is a great comic. I've been reading it for weeks now, but school's been interrupting. A lot.

Very stylistic, interesting world that was created, humorous. All in all a great read, so far. The main problem I have with it is it can be a little repetitive at times.
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

Not much I can say about it. I enjoyed the web comic, and most of the strips were humorous. However, I prefer comics with a more obvious story line and purpose at the beginning.

Oops, I didn't know a new one was posted.

It's a good comic, Gar. Pretty unique too when you think of the premise. Usually when a comic's characters are animals, the food-chain factor rarely comes to mind. Here, though, that's what Kell does for a living! And a family member even tried to eat poor Kevin. But yeah, I don't think I'll ever get through the whole archive. Also, I didn't know that there were active forums during 1995. I wasn't even sure that many people even had computers then. Oh well, shows what I know

Okay , I like the comic, its humorous but it does get a bit repetitive. Although I like how they've brought the food chain aspect into it. I don't have a particularly favorite strip/s. I might finish reading the archive, depends on how much time I have. ^_^
Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Taipan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell

Like the others said, it's pretty unique to have an animal comic with the whol food chain aspect intact. It definately feels like a newspaper comic though. I'd agree that it's kinda amusing at times, but can get a bit repititous as well.

I definitly liked how they actually acgnowledge that different species of animals are supposed to EAT each other in the wild. Not the funniest comic I've read, but it definitly had some funny ones that I liked.

While I do appreciate the references to the food chain which most animal-based worlds ignore... I don't appreciate that it was the main focus of the comic. I admittedly haven't read to far in, but the whole thing seemed to be "Carnivore vs. Herbivore"... which is funny, yes, but gets dull pretty quickly and isn't something the audience can relate to at all. Unless they're trying to make people turn vegetarian, it really doesn't mean much...

Also, I appreciate the frequent Internet humor as well, but it just seemed so... overdone. Not only was it all about the carnivore vs. herbivore thing, but every other page was about what they did on forums for their respective feeding groups. Which seems like a rather silly concept to begin with...

Fun comic, though. I liked this one especially. And I thought this one was rather clever.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.
