Beyond Reality

Post by PoikSpirit »

For lack of a better prepared comic, I present Beyond Reality. They did a cross over with Emergency Exit.

Anyway, it is a webcomic about a couple of siblings who get thrown into another universe. Then they go dimensional hopping to get back home.

Right. I did say that I didn't prepare anything this week. And I'm sorry I'm late... Really late.
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

I've actually read this, but I don't really have any favorite strips. maybe because of the fact I couldn't remeber the site obver the summer. oh well!
This is my RP Forum, Tales of Symphonia Adventures, or ToSA for short. Please take a look?

It took a bit to get into, but that may have been because of distractions.. I don't know.

I like the characters though and there are some seriously funny parts. This alternate ending made me lol so much. The dream sequence! Omg!

And this character is so me^^

Some of the art is awesome such as the guy with mouths for eyes in one frame... but He was such an adorable character when he was all "Itza puppy" kinda sad he changed. He made me squee before that.

The sound effects in some strips (last 2 frames) made me laugh too! But I really like how it evolved over the years from the first strip to the beautiful full-colour with great firey effects and stuff by the end.

Reading this comic, I've found Orion reminds me of my two brothers. One brother likes RPGs, the other is incredibly annoying and oblivious. I guess all the bad qualities remind me of the latter, and the good of the former. They're both younger than me though.

The first comics reminded me of how the oldest one uses my sister like a taxi, to take him and his friends places.

I like how it takes the usual elements of the genre and lampshades it, such as if there is a Hero present in a world, weird stuff goes down. I mean, in stories it always seems that the towns in trouble the most are the ones home to superheroes. :-P

Oh, and the constant "God I hate you" comments always reminds me of me... 99.9% of the time said to my oldest brother.

God, they're too much alike. They even look the same :drop:

Yeah, haven't gotten far in this yet... I do intend to read more of it, but I keep forgetting because it's been so long since I had a comic to read for the club... and I'm kind of putting it off.

It's not a bad comic. Story's a little generic, but not bad. Characters are lovable. Art's good enough. There's just one thing I absolutely can't stand about it... the grammar. It really is terrible... Missing commas, misused words, and most importantly... Periods where there should be question marks. Now, I can forgive a few mistakes. No one's perfect. But they were just too frequent and too obvious in this case... it started to really bother me quickly.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Silver's right, the grammar could stand some improvement. Speech bubble placement is a bit off too (at times it's hard to tell which order to read them in). That aside though, the art gets fairly nice and the story, though generic in parts, is fun and has some likably characters. Although the really infrequent updates are likely to get on my nerves now that I've finished what's there.
