ROM 3: Shadows of Souls

"Hey!" *Josiah ran into the common room.* "I told you guys to meet me at the dock! Hurry up!"

"Sorry, guess we heard you wrong."

"Where's Virgo?"

"At the dock. We were waiting for you there." *The others quickly gathered up their things and ran after Josiah.*

*Ten minutes later everyone was on board and the boat set sail.*

"Oh yeah..." *Josiah pulled a glowing red orb out of his pocket.* "Hey Neo, catch!" *He tossed it to the team's newest member.* "You know what Power Orbs are, right? That one's a F6. I knew you wanted a fire attack and Virgo and I had a few minutes after we finished up our stuff so I picked it up at the store. Drop is a rainbow type so the orb should work on it."

Neo fingered the ord "wow, thanks Josiah"

everyone sat on ther ferry, shauni stood at the edge of the boat and watched the sun light area disapere until darkness surrounded them again

Shauni sighed to herself "O well, back to it I guess...."

Jeff came up and put his arm around her "No worrys, good time will come again"

On the ferry Neo summoned Drop out of it's card. "Well, I hope this works." When Drop saw the Orb its eyes got big and it jumped with glee. "Well, I see you're excited about it." Neo turns to Josiah, "What attack is it? I saw Orbs and bought 1 my self but never did get a guide to all their names."

Then Neo turned to Drop and touched Drop with it. The Orb faded and the learning proccess compleat. Then something unexptected happened. Drop glowed and after glowing it looked like drop had morfed into an egg.

"What the..." said Neo. Neo returned Drop to it's card. But on the card it no longer said Drop but now PF Egg. It's attacks were Harden and Barrior. "Well, that was weird."

Meanwhile, a shadow was following about 1 mile behind...

Meanwhile, a shadow was following about 1 mile behind...
Shauni and Jeff were still looking of the back of the boat
"hay....can you see that"? asked Jeff, who began to point at the water
Shauni squinted her eyes, it was hard to see in the darkness "Yes...just barley....something....large under the water!"
They both pulled away, when a fin broke the surface of the water, followed by a huge head, the whole thing was as large as a bus, and that was just the part they could see
For all intense and purposes, it looked just like a shark, except monster size, and I had six eyes on either side of its head, and was ox blood red
Jeff and Shauni ran towards the center of the boat, the shark creature launched itself out of the water, and took a great chunk out of the boat...where they had just been standing

"All hands man deck!" yelled the caption of the boat
Shauni sighed "Why is this trip always undisturbed!?!"
Jeff replied "Because this is the sea of the damned..."

"The sea of the damned? Who comes up with the names for these places anyway?" *Josiah suddenly appeared behind Jeff and Shauni.* "Go Electriblast! Electribomb!" *The sea monster reeled in pain as the electricity hit it but kept coming.*

"Go Storm Fury, Thunder Wave!" *Neo jumped into the battle.*

"Tashi, Nova Flame!"

"Ragnarok, Thor's Hammer!"

"It's still coming!"

"Black Flare, Magma Ocean!" *The water around the monster turned to lava, and finally seemed to do some serious damage. Delerious with pain, the injured monster made one last lunge forward, smashing into the ship.*

Delerious with pain, the injured monster made one last lunge forward, smashing into the ship.
The ship swayed and everyone was noked to of there feet, the boat was being pushed up from its left and eveyone began to slide down to there right
Shauni and Jeff, unable to jab anything on the decent, rolled right the way to the other side, and went over, jeff, quickly grabbed the railings on the side of the boat and shauni fell past him, desportly reaching out for something, only abele to grab Jeff;s tail just before she fell in the water

The shark came around again, and began to take another charge at the boat
Shauni quickly did the only thing she could do, she let go of Jeffs tail as the weight of both of them, and his lack of grip on the socking rail ment they were both about to fall in.
She slahed into the water a monet later, Jeff yelling to her "Shauni!!"
She disapred into the surf causded byt the sinking boat, the shark nearing them, jeff, desporte, pulled himself back onto the boat
The shark lunged itself out of the water again, but suddenly Omegan burst out of the water, shauni holding on for dear life, and struck the shark away
The shark, now exausted fell back into the water
Shauni stood up on Omegans head, who floated baove the water in mid air
"Finish it with Dimand Dust!"

Omega began to glow, and a beam of white light emerged from its maouth and truck the shark, followed shortly by a hail of ice. A block froze around the shark, Shauni clicked her fingers, and the dimand exploded
The shark, vaporised in forzen shards

"Well, that was fun. Guess one can never be too far from danger when it comes to us."

Neo still looked at PF Egg. "Now that was just plain weird. Monsters don't hatch from eggs but I've never heard of one going to an egg. Anyone hear of something like that? Couse it could be that fact that we know nothing about Rainbow types and all may do this..."

Veryone was very shaken up by the trormatic battle, Jeff clung to Shauni after she had retured to the boat that was just about staying afloat. Josiah confoted an upset Virgo and Silver and David sat in silence.

It was only Neo who had seemed to actualy enjoy fighting for his life, and whos attention was not on why a huge shark creature had just attacked them, it had instenly switched back to his card.

Shauni stred at him blankly over Jeffs shoulder "Neo, I just got thrown from a boat, Im not interested in you card, leave it till we geot everthing sorted"

neo looked alittle disapointed and retured his card to his deck, walking of in a huff mutering something under his breath
Shauni was a little sad she had upset him, but she would make it up to him later

jeff kissed her on her head and the pulled out of there huge
"dont ever do anything like that again"Shauni noded "Dont worry, I wont"

The boat contuied, much slower as one of its engines had exploded, contuied into the blackness...

"Gee, sorry I spoke.", Neo said under his breath as he walked to the back of the boat.

Neo stood there thinking. He realized that his question earlyer hadn't been answered yet. He walked back to the group abit later to reask his question.

"I've also been thinking. What about the shrines on the other side of the Mountains? I knew of at least 5 over there and I only travled and explored about 60% of Western part of this land."

Shauni, who felt abit bad about yelling at him decided to answer friendly

"The harber where we just came from is the only place we can cross to the other side, its the thinest part of the lake, after we have done hear, it is actualy easer to walk over the foot hills to the north over that trail than the steap cliffs on the side of Onett, so we are actualy cutting the journey time"
Neo noded "o, ok, lissen, im sorry I was incosiderate before, I never thought of the fact that you had nearly drowend...."

Shauni smiled "Thanks"

The boat finaly reahced the other side, and a depressing sight emerged
"O great..more dark, scary woods....."

"These woods arn't too bad. Not as bad as when we first arrived. Now those woods were really dark and scary."

Shauni noded "Your right, its not as dark as when we first arrived, but the monsters on this side of the river will be stronger, because of the progressive nature in difficulties of all games, we have to assume that it still applies as it did in Orca"

Neo still looked at her, his eyes holding a question
"god dahm it neo, there are 7 shrines on this side of the river, and 3 in the mountain range ahead of us, 2 back on the other side at Clancy, just beyond Onett, 1 in the wastelind west of Moens Keep and one at the charm lands near the holy cave"

Neo began to count on his finger "so...including the two we have destryed, that....16"
Jeff joined the conversation "Yea, that we actualy know about, whos to say there arnt more"
Josiah sighed "This is going to take us forever....."

"This will take awhile for sure. 16 on the east side and at least 5 that I know of on the west side. I heard of at least 3 in the Forbidden Forest that I never explored cept abit and that's only 60% of my range. So there are 8 just right there. Grand total that we know of: 24..."

Zanther was aways off and closing...

"We'd better get moving." *Josiah looked around.* "Amhal's palace is still a long way from here."

"Yeah really. It's a long way just to reach the mountains and his palace is on the other side of the mountains..."

"At least we can take care of a lot of shrines along the way."

"Maybe we should split up into groups. It would go faster that way."

"Yes... But the monsters keep getting stronger."

"We can discuss this later. For now we should start walking."

"Erm...I take back my idea, we DEFINATLY should stay together....."
Josiah tured back to her and smiled "Scared?"
Josiah, expecting a smart ass answer, was suppried when she replyed "beyond belef"
Everyone suddenly stopped walking as they heared a sound

"What was that....?!?!?"
