We don't really know, it's just the way it is. But don't worry, more people die due to car accidents then snake bites here in Aussie, the Car's are more dangerous then the animals.

If I was a New Zealander I would prolly know more about this, but they don't have fur. Just fur-like feathers. And no claws it seems.

Also, did you know that Platypuses (or are they Platypi?) can sense their prey by feeling the electronic pulses they use to control their muscles? Forget Hammerhead Frenzy, I'd be more afraid of Platypus Frenzy! (Cookie to whoever gets the reference.)

No, I have never been stung by a platypus. I can't remember ever seeing one in realy life... I know I've never seen on in it's natural habitat.
