Stop: It's Grammar Time!
Bet ya saw this coming, huh? Knowledge of Pokemon and IPA is important... but I will not tolerate anything less than flawless when it comes to my Apprentice's grammar. Which is why, starting this round, the remaining members of Team Star Dust Coin and Team Pay Day have fused to form Team Impossible Cash! We've reached the halfway point; there were six players on each team in the beginning, and now we've brought it down to six players total. If you're still here, you shouldn't need someone else on your team to protect you from elimination. You're gonna earn it on your own.

So here's how it's gonna work. The paragraph I've posted in the new Team thread is loaded with mistakes. ...Writing it pained me severely... There are errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling... quite possibly a few malapropisms as well. You'll correct them in that thread, one mistake at a time, and get points for each correction you make. The prefered style of correcting would be to copy the entire sentence, then point out the change you've made using bold, underlined, or different colored text. The round will end when you've found every single mistake. Some are easier to spot than others, of course... so if it starts slowing down, I will give you guys hints. I'm predicting that you non-AP English types will need them for the last few sentences~
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Man. I hate grammar. I really do. I don't even know what a malapropism is...

It was lonely... you promised you'd write to me, but you never did... the months passed by, and I still thought of you every day, but you never called. I never got any letters from you.

So eventually, I started to lose faith... I thought you had been killed in that terrible, terrible war. Or maybe that you had forgotten about me. It's been so long, you probably found another girl over there... I never stopped loving you, but I didn't think you cared about me anymore, so welcoming you back just would have been too painful for me... I'm sorry. I'm glad you've come back home *sniff*

Daaang.
I try to use proper grammar 'n' all, but I hate english class.
Probably has something to do with my teachers.
Then again, this year my teacher gave so much extra credit it wasn't funny....I dunno...

Not If I have anything to say about it.

By the way, I suppose it's payback for me being Silver's shadow in round 3.

Sit Down Comedy?
There was mention of a Stand Up Comedy Challenge, so gosh darn it, we're going to have a Stand Up Comedy Challenge... but here's the thing. I'm really not very well-versed in the art of Stand Up Comedy. I'm too lazy to Stand Up that long... So we're gonna have a bit of help from someone that is. And that is my good friend and cousin Stevenson! Yes, Silver's much too tendentitous to judge a competition like this... Anyway. You're going to be funny for Stevenson, not me, so making Chuck Norris-style jokes about Pidgeot will not get you extra points! ...It really should, though... Oh, yeah, and if you try to plagiarize, he'll recognize it, so don't.

I'm sure you all know what Stand Up Comedy is, but just in case, it's like an essay of funny. Usually you'd, you know, say it, not write it... But we'll work with what we've got. Unfortunately that means Physical Comedy is pretty much off-limits... you're welcome to try to get creative with Smilies, but you're probably better off staying away from that. Otherwise, though, you can use any subject matter you want; it doesn't have to be IPA or Pokemon-themed, although you're free to give that a try. And keep in mind that "funny" is subjective, but "clever," "creative," and "unique" have pretty solid definitions. And I shouldn't have to say this, but "PG-rated Forum" has a solid definition, too.

I'm not gonna give you a set length, but it would be a good idea to have a few minutes worth of material, you know, if you were actually saying it out loud. You have a week - that means until next Wednesday - to post your routines here!

...And they have no idea that they're doing my "Public Speaking" Final Exam for me...

Oh-no. Oh no no no no no. I thought you were kidding! I can't do comedy! It's not that I won't, but I can't! I like to think I'm funny, but I'm not! I'm not creative, I'm not clever, I'm not unique! Comedy doesn't even have anything to do with running IPA! ::-(

I'm not going to even try. I'm dropping out. Good luck everybody.

Yes it does, you fool! Comedy has everything to do with running IPA! You think I could deal with all this if I didn't have a sense of humor? I would have gone insane a million times over! But I'm ok (I think) because I can just laugh it off!

HA HA HA!

I'd encourage you to at least try - trust me, it's not that hard to just... say something funny repeatedly - but if you're that willing to give up, you're probably not cut out to be my mind slave anyway...

Which means I can get two people out this round! Which means I can skip the Miss IPA Pageant round I was gonna do next! That's... actually kind of disappointing. I was looking forward to referring to you people as, "Miss Cheesey", "Miss Gar", and "Miss Josiah"... and "Miss Terra" and "Miss Saber", but that's slightly less amusing.

Dang. I'm not sure if I can do this.
Saying it is one thing, but writing it is another.
It's all about the tone you say it with....you can't do that very well in writing.
I'll give it a shot though...not sure when I'll have the time to write it but oh well.
Darn....where to start....hopefully I'll dream something up....well, it's happened before...

Saber's got a point. Tone is very important, but it can't be felt in writing. Even if you could imagine it, it could be different than the writer intended. Besides, Silver, your apprentice could be a humorless robot and survive. And I do think we could all do funny quips and asides in our apprentice posts. Stand up is not going to make a difference.

I'll try to write some material, but I'm not promising you'll like it or fall alsleep in seconds.

Ever read Dave Barry? Paul Reiser? You can be funny in writing, trust me. It seems weird at first, but I'll probably get the jokes you type up. If you don't think your tone is good for some jokes, maybe use bold/italic/underline to make certain words more emphasized.

So...should we just post what we wrote here, or PM it to Silver and or Stevenson?
Mine's kinda terrible, but at least I gave it a shot.

Eh, whatever works. Though if you're gonna PM it, sending it to Stevenson would be a good idea. He's the judge here.

Sigh... but the lack of participation is still annoying... I now understand why Mr. Keffner gets so annoyed at my English class for not saying anything... Even if it is 7:15 in the morning and we're not thinking yet... As much as I would like to, because right about now I really need an apprentice and I've been rooting for Saber anyway, I can't just fire all of you now and give the job to Saber...

But I could... give you guys an alternate, Whose Line Is It Anyway-styled Improv Comedy Challenge. Saber will automatically win the round because she actually participated in it... but the rest of you guys could fight it out in a round of Questions, the Alphabet game, or some such. For this to be a proper improv, though, it would have to be done through some type of instant messaging program, which requires everyone being online at the same time. And me actually going on MSN/whatever... So I'd really rather not do that, y'know?

You've been rooting for me? *feels wubbed*
On another note, I luv the alphabet game! Questions only is awesome too, I rock at that one. It's better when you're acting it out, though.
I'll just PM my attempt at comedy to Stevenson anyways...
