It's an awesome series but definately not one you can start in the middle. Way too complicated for that.

It was lonely... you promised you'd write to me, but you never did... the months passed by, and I still thought of you every day, but you never called. I never got any letters from you.

So eventually, I started to lose faith... I thought you had been killed in that terrible, terrible war. Or maybe that you had forgotten about me. It's been so long, you probably found another girl over there... I never stopped loving you, but I didn't think you cared about me anymore, so welcoming you back just would have been too painful for me... I'm sorry. I'm glad you've come back home *sniff*

For the vast majority of my life, I've hated reading anything that wasn't a comic book... due to the whole concept of 'reading' being spoiled by the horrible books school has forced on me. So then Stevenson's mom goes and forces this whole series of books on me. There's four of them, and I... read all four in, what, a week? So yeah. I can finally post here, now that I actually have books that I enjoy...

Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Particularly the third one, the Titan's Curse, because it has Nico and Apollo in it. Although The Battle of the Labyrinth would easily be the best if Dionysus had a little more screen time. Out checking on minor gods... honestly, they're minor for a reason!
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I'll probably read that series sooner or later. But anyway, so Silver if you'd like to try reading some other stuff in the same genre I'd recommend:
Harry Potter (best series ever) by JK Rowling
The Keys to the Kingdom Series by Garth Nix
Pendragon series by DJ MacHale
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (ok, so it's not a fantasy adventure, but you'll like them anyway, really funny)

I would totally recommend my own books as well, if I had a publisher.

Yeah, my sister read those books. I've been meaning to do that as well.
I luv the fantasy genre.
Recently, I read the Belgariad, which was a good series. I also read the first two books of the Twilight Saga.
I highly reccomend The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman (I think). It's the first book in a trilogy, but it can stand on it's own for the most part. The other two books are okay-ish, but I loved the Golden Compass.
May the Triforce be with you.

Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid." ~ William Ernest Henley

Just remembered another one!

"Unwind" by Neal Shusterman. Easy to read, but pretty good storyline.

I, on the other hand, don't recommend The Golden Compass. Actually I liked it and The Subtle Knife (the second book in the trilogy), but The Amber Spy Glass (last book), in my opinion, made for such a lousy ending (for a variety of reasons) that it kinda ruined the whole series for me.

Don't you just love it when your local library has a sale on books. Paperback for 10 cents! Hardcover for 25-50 cents! I got carried away and bought 2 boxes. Only 5 dollars too!

One I'm reading now.

Stevenson's Latin Phrase of the Week:

Brutum Fulmen: (senseless thunderbolt) This phrase, coined by Pliny the elder, is used to refer to an empty threat.
