We do have to learn about it in younger grades (up to about year 9) but when you get into the more senior grades (you start chosing your subjects in year 10) it isn't cumpulsory.

Perhaps Josiah is right we aren't that old... only just over 200 years.

The main reason I don't know that much about it now is becasue I didn't pay much attention

I'm not sure anyone did, after all they had a habit of giving us the teachers that liked putting us to sleep.

It's true, most are boring.
I got lucky in 7th grade, though, and got the most amazing history/social studies teacher ever.
He's still one of my favorite teachers EVER.
8th grade was also pretty awesome, my history teacher was very awesome.
Hopefully, 9th grade shall be also awesome.
May the Triforce be with you.

Cheez - Canada has a lot of history! I loved my history class in grade 10. So interesting...

On topic, is it true blonds are getting abducted all the time in Australia? (I heard it from a friend! And I'm blond....)

Well I know there's a few abductions, I don't know about them being blonds. Most of the ones I remember are children which get allot of publicity, particularly if their parents go public to find out all they can.

Not recently that I know of, thats something you'd find on the news and in the paper and I haven't seen it. Of course most dingo's now are restricted to wildlife preserves mainly on islands along the coast.
But there was an incident a few decades pack where a baby was taken out of a tent while holidaying out in the desert, I believe she was only alone for a couple of minutes while her parents were taking care of their other children. Although at that time Dingo's were just seen as dog's and nothing dangerous. Even though there were a dingo's footprints around and leading away from the tent, and multiple witnesses, the parents were charged with their baby's murder.

Although since then there have been more reports of baby's being taken, but nothing recently.

The Parents were charged with the murder, yes. But since they've been let off, then charged again and they don't seem to be able to decide who killed baby Azaria! There is evidence pointing in both ways apparently, (or they just had really good lawyers.)

The story is that the baby's clothes were found, but never the body so they assumed that dingos had eaten it. There are a million different conspiracy theories and the like but I don't know what REALLY happened, I wasn't there. (As it happened 10 years before I was born in a place I've never been^^)

But basically Dingos are wild dogs. They are fairly timid creatures as far as I know, and would rather stay AWAY from humans. So dingos stealing babies? I doubt it very VERY much.

Lindy Chaimberlain (the woman who said that wole 'dingo stole my baby' thing) was actually considered a bit of a bit of a joke. You can still see slight references in comedy sketch shows etc.

Okay so I said I would post some pictures from my holiday and here they are. I'll be putting them in order from when I took them and I'll try to put as little here since theres allot.

ImageImage
These were taken at my aunties at Mcmasters Beach on the Coast of New South Wales. That is my dad in the second one.

ImageImageImage
Here are some random photo's I took while driving to Victoria.

ImageImage
These are two of the photo's I took at Falls Creek. OMG a place where it actually snows! Yes I saw snow and went Skiing for the First Time in My Life! Squeee.

In short, holiday was much fun and I have at least 60 photo's, I could have taken more though.

Well I found Skiing fun and easy, but I seem to be good at winter sports, next I shall be trying snowboarding! ^_^

And I fell over a total of three times, the first time i stacked it when I went over a soft bit of snow and it decided that it didn't want to hold my weight. The second time I fell over when I was walking, It is really hard to walk with large bits of wood stuck to your feet. And the third time I stacked it deliberately. I was having issues stopping so I skillfully fell over.
In short I only fell over once.

Nathan
Andrew
John
Ros
Cheryl
Kathy
Janelle
Lisa
Peter
Luke
Fred
Kristina
Rod
Robert

(I have asked my parents for help here, so these names are names that we know about 50 million people [perhaps a slight over exaggeration^^] with these names. With some there were a few at school with/work with them, some we have a heap in the family etc. so I don't know how up-to-date things are...

Names that are in fashion, as is the same in any country, vary with the generation and the times... so I can't really help that much >.< Sorry)

(Maybe Kaida can help out here?)
