Marley arrived on the scene just as Kusa left. "Karou! Damn! I Didn't get here fast enough." Marley called up some of the other shinigami on his little phone device. "There's been an incident. Karou is extremely injured, and Bael is here too. I saw a figure running away from the scene. I don't think Bael is responsible. Anyway, i'm about a half mile southwest of the school. I'll be here waiting." Marley tore off some sloth from his pants and wrapped it around some of
Kusa's wounds, the he walked over to bael. "Dude, what happened?"

Basically, Kusa is dead, Bael killed him. Karou is in the hospital, and some shinigami are going to fight a possessed yuki (kiku?) And some dude with ORANGE text is here.

Yes, Kusa is dead. Bael killed him, and then returned to Kaoru in the hospital. They were merely talking about Kusa's death. Meanwhile, Dale was leaving to find Rai and Marley was just there, I think... Then Rune and Yume were about to fight a possessed Yuki, who appearently has a hollow inside of her. Kiku might have become a temporary babysitter to Rath while Rune's in the human realm, even though that's not really her job at all. That about covers it, I think...

Rune placed his phone back into his pocket after recieveing Marley's call. He then turned to his companions to tell them the news. "It seems... Kaoru came in contact with Kusa and Bael. He's critically injured, and requires immediate care. Apparently, Bael and Kusa have separated as well.", he paused for a moment, thinking. "Yume-san, please go to Rai-kun's school and check for him there. Whether you find him or not, come and find Kiku-san and myself. We'll be about a half-mile southwest from the school." With that, he turned towards the other's location and started making his way there.
The moment that Marley took his phone out, Yuki disappeared from sight and followed Rai.
"Ugh, I thought I said I didn't want you following behind. How'd you catch up so fast anyways?" Rai asked.
"It's cause your slow..." Yuki said, grinning "Anyways, everyone's looking for you, they're going to look at your school and house.... so let's go hide elsewhere" she continued, changing the tone of her voice.
"Uh... arn't you suppose to be on their side?"
"You seem have a point but..." she paused "Seems like you don't know my true motives" she said, with an expression that conveyed someone more mature than the Yuki that the Quincy had known.

They took a break running around in a narrow alley way "So what happens if they find us?" Rai asked
"I dunno... I guess I'll use my Bankai since, I think only a captain suppose to have one.. but i thought all the officers had one... then again, a lot of people that arn't captains learned how to use their... then again..."
"Ugh... stop talking to yourself!!! It's annoying!!"
Bael closed his eyes, and bent his head over. He grabbed the boy by the throat, and lifted him up, cutting off his oxygen. "Tell them you lied about seeing me. You never saw me." He said, dropping him, and running.
"OW! Um....Kay? I'll just say your a figment of my imagination or something..."
A few minutes after Bael left Marley and Kaoru, Rune and Kiku arrived. Rune stopped running as he observed the state that Kaoru was in. Even through the bandages Marley had used to stem the bleeding, the fukutaichou could see that the seated officer was missing a large portion of his side, which might have included a few organs. It took him a moment to speak. "Kiku-san, please examine him. Quickly... See what you can do for him on the spot.", he said, then turned to Marley. "What happened? Give me all of the details that you have, please..."
Kaoru was, miraculously, still alive, though he remained unconscious.
Kusa watched from an undetectable location as Bael departed from Marley and Kaoru and ran away. He tisked, observing his former friend. "Fool... What could you be thinking? I give you the perfect opportunity to return to your friends and you just leave them in the dark."
Kiku, fighting down waves of nausea, instantly knelt at Kaoru's side, pulling on her long gloves and looking him over. After nudging some of the bandages around, she confirmed that he had lost a good third of his abdominal cavity, if not more. She rearranged his innards as well as she could despite several gaps where there should've been organs.
"He's missing some...things, but he'll survive if he rests long enough," she told Rune, voice trembling a little. "I can get him started on the regeneration process and stabilize his condition, but he won't be able to walk for at least a week, much less chase after his brother or fight. He'll recover faster if we get him back to Soul Society." So saying, she held both hands over the hole in his side. A faint glow surrounded them after a moment.
Yume, from where she was perched on the school building's roof, scanned the grounds for any sign of their erstwhile Quincy. She didn't see anything. Sighing, she ran gracefully to the other end of the building, checking there as well. When that didn't provide any new insights, she closed her eyes, attempting to sense for his reiatsu. She stood there, unmoving for a long time. After a while, she sighed and opened her eyes again. She took one last look around the school, then vanished.
She reappeared next to Rune just as Marley finished explaining the situation. "Sir, I've located the Quincy," she reported, bowing a little. "However, he's not at the school. In fact, I have no real idea where he is. It's not too far away, but it's not close either. I believe he is in the city somewhere." She paused. "Additionally, ah, there is a Shinigami with him. Specifically, Kyohaku Yuki of Jyuubantai."
Yuki just sat there, unmoving.
"uh, what are you doing?" Rai asked, obviously tired of the situation he found himself in.
"Shhh, i'm trying to concentrate..." she said. She eventually was able to find the location of the several shinigami in the park, "eh, their far enough away" she said, "I'm pretty sure we're safe for now but, make sure your ready for any surprises"
"yeah, whatever..."

"Hmm...", Rune crossed his arms, thinking. "Well, Bael and Kusa departed from our group after Kusa revealed that he was a vizard. At the same time, Rai disappeared from the soul society. We had to come search for Rai, since he was placed in our care. But Kaoru wanted to search for his brother instead. He must have disobeyed my order to avoid direct contact with Bael and Kusa. After the battle, both of them must have split up and ran away again." He sighed. "Great... Just great."

He'll be suspended from going on missions until he has recovered, and then a while afterward. We'll get him back to the soul society after Yume-san returns to us with an update."
And return, Yume did. She reappeared next to Rune. "Sir, I've located the Quincy," she reported, bowing a little. "However, he's not at the school. In fact, I have no real idea where he is. It's not too far away, but it's not close either. I believe he is in the city somewhere." She paused. "Additionally, ah, there is a Shinigami with him. Specifically, Kyohaku Yuki of Jyuubantai."
Once again, Rune sighed, holding his head this time. "I should have known that Yuki-chan would follow Rai-kun into the mortal realm. But we can't rule out the possibility that she's up to something else entirely. Now, let's see...", he started thinking again. "Kiku-san needs to bring Kaoru-chan back into the soul society so that he can recieve more treatment for his wounds... Marley-kun can help her transport him there. Then Yume-san and myself will go and search the city for Rai-kun and Yuki-chan. Who knows, we might also come across Bael or Kusa as well."
"We better get going, we have to keep moving or they'll find us." Yuki said pulling Rai with her,
"Ow! Ok ok! I'll come just stop with the pulling!!" Rai snapped, releasing himself from her grasp, "Let's go!"
The two of them dashed in a direction going further from the park Yuki had sensed the others at.
Rune turned to Marley and Kiku. "You two, please take Kaoru-chan back to the Soul Society immediately.", he said, before his eye caught on something. "Kiku-san, that badge that he's clutching in his hand... Hang on to that for him and give it to him if and when he wakes up." Then he looked over at Yume. "Now, let us go and search for them." With that, he took off from the other two shinigami, Yume alongside him.
Kaoru, though unconscious, was still holding Kusa's discarded fukutaichou badge in his hand.
Kusa followed Bael, racing along rooftops and telephone polls. He made sure not to make a sound and to keep his spirit energy well hidden. His scythe was being firmly gripped within his hand, a smirk upon his lips. When he finally caught up with his former friend, he leaped from a telephone poll and landed in front of Bael, taking a fighting stance with his scythe. "You're such a fool!", he cried, laughing afterwards.
Kiku bent down and carefully pried Kusa's badge from Kaoru's fingers. She folded the cloth neatly and tucked the entire thing into her medical bag for safekeeping. She then drew her zanpakutou and started hacking a pair of long, study branches off the nearest tree. Using the rags from Marley's pants and the bandages she had refilled her bag with, she crafted a crude but serviceable stretcher of sorts. Moving Kaoru onto the stretcher was rather tricky, but she managed. Then she had to pause and rest for a minute, not being a very physically strong person. "Marley-san?" she called tentatively. "Could I have you pick up the other end of this stretcher?" She indicated the branches next to Kaoru's head. "We'll have to get him back to the senkaimon we came through, since I can't create one here by myself..."
Yuki and Rai dashed from rooftops to light poles attempting to get away from the pair pursuing them. They both dashed passed the scene of Kusa readying in a fighting stance in front of Bael.
"Hey wasn't that....?"
"Ignore it, what you saw isn't important, our priority is to stay hidden from the two following us." Yuki said, interuping Rai's question.

"Hehehe, I was wondering when I was gunna get through to you.... Yuki...."
"um.....Kay? Do I need to pack a tooth brush? Maybe some clean underwear?" Marley said as he picked up the stretcher.
Kiku held back a sigh, figuring it would be impolite. "No, you won't need any of those items," she told him. After she checked on Kaoru to make sure the stretcher would hold, she set off toward the gate. "We'll only have to get just inside the gate. Other Shinigami there will help me transport Miyazaki-san to where he will receive the necessary medical attention." She paused, although she didn't stop walking. "After we get him safely to Seireitei, I'll have to ask you to leave. The Gotei 13 don't take too kindly to intruders, I'm afraid."
"You mean I won't be able to get a souvenir? That's not cool....I wanted a plastic Zangetsu!"
Bael saw his target, and quickly drew his axe, leaping into the air, slamming it down toward his target.
Kusa smirked as he watched Bael draw his massive axe. Though the warrior could move considerably fast while wielding it, he was still a little slow. The axe was coming down but it merely impacted upon the ground. It shattered the concrete and created a small fissure where Kusa had been previously. The younger male tisked at his former friend. "Now, now... Sloppy charges like that will cause you to lose your head.", he commented from behind Bael. His scythe was poised the cleave cleanly through Bael's neck at any sudden movements.
As Marley exited the portal back the the human realm, he decided to check up on the other shinigami there. "Is there anything in particular you guys want me to do? Or can I go home now?"
Rune and Yume continued to track Yuki and Rai as they made their way around the city. But as they neared their targets, Rune began to feel two other spiritual signitures that he knew all too well. It was apparent that Kusa and Bael were nearby. He stopped, haulting Yume as well. "I know that you can sense them nearby... All four of them. What should we do, Yume-san? Taking on Kusa and Bael right now would be risky... and we can't let Yuki and Rai get away from us again.", the fukutaichou said quietly.
As Marley exited the portal back the the human realm, he decided to check up on the other shinigami there. "Is there anything in particular you guys want me to do? Or can I go home now?"
Rune almost jumped as Marley approached the two of them. He'd been so focused on the other four shinigami in the area that he hadn't noticed Marley's reiatsu. "Oh...", he said, breathing a sigh of relief. "Well... Actually, I might have something for you to do, Marley-san. Yume-san and I have to continue our chase of Yuki and Rai... But would you mind staying here and keeping an eye on Bael and Kusa? You can keep in contact with us by mobile. Just don't let yourself be found, okay? We don't need another shinigami severly injured..."
'That's... Kiku-san's voice...', Kaoru thought as he began to regain consciousness. He was aware that he was laid horizontally and that he didn't want to move his body at all. His dark eyes opened. They took in the sight of Kiku standing nearby. 'Why am I seeing this...? I should be dead... Right?', another mental thought said inside his mind. "Kiku-san? What happened...?", Kaoru asked, not daring to move from his current position.
"Pfft. Please. Against those guys? whatev, I'll check it out. And technically, I'm not an official shinigami." Marley said as he ran towards where the fight was, being careful not to be seen. "Man, this doesn't look to good for The Rock over there....If things get a bit too dicey, I can always jump in and help out." Marley smirked "Or I could just sit back and watch. I could probably handle Kusa on my own. If not, I'll just call for backup."
Yume watched Marley leave with some amusement in her eyes. "I guess our little problem solved itself," she noted. "To be honest, I would have suggested splitting up. I could stay and observe Kusa and Bael while trying not to attract attention while you could continue pursuing. Unless you'd rather do the watching and let me do the chasing. Either way works, although having the help of Marley simplifies things." Shrugging, she turned to Rune. "Should we go on?"
Kiku, startled that Kaoru had regained consciousness so quickly, hurried to his side. "Please try not to move or talk much," she requested, eyes worried. "You've lost several internal organs from your fight, and I didn't have the time or expertise to get you back to normal. We've just finished transporting you to the Fourth Division General Relief station. Due to the severity of your injuries, you won't be able to get out of bed for a week or so."
After a brief pause, she rummaged through her medical bag. "Here. We found you holding onto this. If it brings you any comfort, you can have it back. Or I can continue to keep it safe for you. No one thinks of attacking or robbing an insignificant little unseated officer like me." She presented him with Kusa's fukutaichou badge.

Kaoru turned his head so that he could see the object that Kiku was holding out for him. It was Kusa's badge, the one he had torn off of his arm at the end of their battle. He vaguely remembered grabbing on to it before losing consciousness. A small smile touched his lips and he closed his eyes once more. "Thank you, Kiku-san... I'd prefer if you held onto it for me, at least for a little while. I have no real use for it at a time like this.", he replied softly.
It was then that young Rath peeked his head around the corner, looking into the room. "Kaoru-chan...!", he said, running inside and over to the bed. "Oh my gosh... Are you all right? What happened? Where's big brother?", the child asked all in a rush, pouting at the end.
Bael stood silent, unmoving. He closed his eyes, growling softly. "Fine... finish me quickly..." he said to the other.
Kusa smirked. "Well, there's something that I never thought I would hear you say. You're really just going to give up that easily? Is it because you bared witness to what I did to Kaoru? Ah well, not like the reason really matters.", he said, shifting his scythe slightly. "So, in the end, it has finally come to this. Goodbye, Bael." But just as he was about to carve the blade through Bael's skin, he was interrupted.
Dale's metal claws knocked the red blade of the scythe away from Bael's neck, sending Kusa stumbling backwards until he fell to the ground. Then the smaller shinigami was pinning him down, a crazed gleam present in his eyes. "Kusa-chan... You shouldn't be wearing that awful mask. Let's take it off of you now.", he purred. His claws wedged themselves beneath the edge of the Hollow mask and he ripped the abominable thing off of the other's face.
The former fukutaichou cried out as the mask was torn off of his face. But within a few moments, Kusa recovered himself. He immediately released his grip on the scythe, letting it fall to the ground with a clatter. So many things suddenly overwhelmed him... He'd fought and nearly killed his own brother. Had run away from the others. Had even tried to kill his best friend. Now, one more thing weighed on his mind. Someone was pinning him down... Kusa looked up and recognized another friend of his. "Dale...? What the...?"
Dale moved off of the other shinigami, standing over him. The crazed gleam disappeared from his eyes and a completely different behavior settled over him. "Kusa-chan! You're back to normal. For the moment, at least. Now stay there while I heal Bae-chan's injuries.", he said, walking over to Bael. "Stay still. I'll have you fixed up in no time." Gently, he touched each of Bael's wounds with a clawed finger, and the wounds instantly healed themselves. "There! You're all better.", the younger said, smiling.
After a few moments, Kusa sat up, an unamused expression on his face. "Dale? What are you doing out here? It's dangerous, really dangerous.", he stated, still wondering why his friend had suddenly appeared from out of nowhere. Though, he was sort of grateful for Dale's intervension. He really didn't want to kill Bael or leave him wounded like he'd done to Kaoru.
"Captain Hitsugaya told me everything.", Dale chirped, before waving a finger at Kusa. "You've been a bad boy, Kusa-chan. Oh, and you too, Bae-chan. But I'm so glad that you're both all right. By the way, I bring some good news. Kaoru-chan is still alive, though he won't be out of the medical center for a while. Better than being dead by far. Now, why don't we go somewhere safer?"
"Hmmmm, maybe it's time to test our new toy eh?"

Yuki suddenly came to a stop, "Quincy, run away as soon as the shinigami arrive" she said, stabbing his arm with her finger "The reiatsu I injected into you should show me where you are so it's ok to get separated."
The quincy was in shock of just having been stabbed, bu obeyed Yuki's command, deciding that it would be better than being held captive at soul society. He ran, just as he was commanded.
Yume and Rune appeared at the scene.
"Hi!" Yuki said in her own voice "I've been waiting..." she then said in a different tone. "Capturing this young girl's will proved to be easier than i would have imagined" she said "Who'd have thought that she already had a hollow within her to manipulate to our will." Yuki smirked "Tobi, Hayaikaze" she said, activating her zanpakutou.
"All right then." Kiku slid the badge back into her bag, zipped it, and slung it over her head. She then looked at Rath. "Um...Wintermoon-fukutaichou is still in the real world. Chasing Quincy-san, I believe. And Miyazaki-sama will be fine. He just needs rest." She paused. "A lot of it." She bowed to Kaoru. "I'll leave you to the more experienced healers then...get well soon." She then ushered Rath out of the room as other members of the fourth division filed through the door.
Yume seized the hilt of her zanpakutou but didn't draw it, her eyes fixed on Yuki. "I don't suppose there's any point in asking what's wrong with you, since you're a completely different person than before," she noted, a small frown on her face. "So instead, I'll ask you this; what have you done with Yuki? Where's Rai?" She slid Yukitori from its sheath and held it with both hands, keeping her gaze on her opponent.

Rune placed his phone back into his pocket after recieveing Marley's call. He then turned to his companions to tell them the news. "It seems... Kaoru came in contact with Kusa and Bael. He's critically injured, and requires immediate care. Apparently, Bael and Kusa have separated as well.", he paused for a moment, thinking. "Yume-san, please go to Rai-kun's school and check for him there. Whether you find him or not, come and find Kiku-san and myself. We'll be about a half-mile southwest from the school." With that, he turned towards the other's location and started making his way there.
The moment that Marley took his phone out, Yuki disappeared from sight and followed Rai.
"Ugh, I thought I said I didn't want you following behind. How'd you catch up so fast anyways?" Rai asked.
"It's cause your slow..." Yuki said, grinning "Anyways, everyone's looking for you, they're going to look at your school and house.... so let's go hide elsewhere" she continued, changing the tone of her voice.
"Uh... arn't you suppose to be on their side?"
"You seem have a point but..." she paused "Seems like you don't know my true motives" she said, with an expression that conveyed someone more mature than the Yuki that the Quincy had known.

They took a break running around in a narrow alley way "So what happens if they find us?" Rai asked
"I dunno... I guess I'll use my Bankai since, I think only a captain suppose to have one.. but i thought all the officers had one... then again, a lot of people that arn't captains learned how to use their... then again..."
"Ugh... stop talking to yourself!!! It's annoying!!"
Bael closed his eyes, and bent his head over. He grabbed the boy by the throat, and lifted him up, cutting off his oxygen. "Tell them you lied about seeing me. You never saw me." He said, dropping him, and running.
"OW! Um....Kay? I'll just say your a figment of my imagination or something..."
A few minutes after Bael left Marley and Kaoru, Rune and Kiku arrived. Rune stopped running as he observed the state that Kaoru was in. Even through the bandages Marley had used to stem the bleeding, the fukutaichou could see that the seated officer was missing a large portion of his side, which might have included a few organs. It took him a moment to speak. "Kiku-san, please examine him. Quickly... See what you can do for him on the spot.", he said, then turned to Marley. "What happened? Give me all of the details that you have, please..."
Kaoru was, miraculously, still alive, though he remained unconscious.
Kusa watched from an undetectable location as Bael departed from Marley and Kaoru and ran away. He tisked, observing his former friend. "Fool... What could you be thinking? I give you the perfect opportunity to return to your friends and you just leave them in the dark."
Kiku, fighting down waves of nausea, instantly knelt at Kaoru's side, pulling on her long gloves and looking him over. After nudging some of the bandages around, she confirmed that he had lost a good third of his abdominal cavity, if not more. She rearranged his innards as well as she could despite several gaps where there should've been organs.
"He's missing some...things, but he'll survive if he rests long enough," she told Rune, voice trembling a little. "I can get him started on the regeneration process and stabilize his condition, but he won't be able to walk for at least a week, much less chase after his brother or fight. He'll recover faster if we get him back to Soul Society." So saying, she held both hands over the hole in his side. A faint glow surrounded them after a moment.
Yume, from where she was perched on the school building's roof, scanned the grounds for any sign of their erstwhile Quincy. She didn't see anything. Sighing, she ran gracefully to the other end of the building, checking there as well. When that didn't provide any new insights, she closed her eyes, attempting to sense for his reiatsu. She stood there, unmoving for a long time. After a while, she sighed and opened her eyes again. She took one last look around the school, then vanished.
She reappeared next to Rune just as Marley finished explaining the situation. "Sir, I've located the Quincy," she reported, bowing a little. "However, he's not at the school. In fact, I have no real idea where he is. It's not too far away, but it's not close either. I believe he is in the city somewhere." She paused. "Additionally, ah, there is a Shinigami with him. Specifically, Kyohaku Yuki of Jyuubantai."
Yuki just sat there, unmoving.
"uh, what are you doing?" Rai asked, obviously tired of the situation he found himself in.
"Shhh, i'm trying to concentrate..." she said. She eventually was able to find the location of the several shinigami in the park, "eh, their far enough away" she said, "I'm pretty sure we're safe for now but, make sure your ready for any surprises"
"yeah, whatever..."

We had to come search for Rai, since he was placed in our care. But Kaoru wanted to search for his brother instead. He must have disobeyed my order to avoid direct contact with Bael and Kusa. After the battle, both of them must have split up and ran away again." He sighed. "Great... Just great."

He'll be suspended from going on missions until he has recovered, and then a while afterward. We'll get him back to the soul society after Yume-san returns to us with an update."
And return, Yume did. She reappeared next to Rune. "Sir, I've located the Quincy," she reported, bowing a little. "However, he's not at the school. In fact, I have no real idea where he is. It's not too far away, but it's not close either. I believe he is in the city somewhere." She paused. "Additionally, ah, there is a Shinigami with him. Specifically, Kyohaku Yuki of Jyuubantai."
Once again, Rune sighed, holding his head this time. "I should have known that Yuki-chan would follow Rai-kun into the mortal realm. But we can't rule out the possibility that she's up to something else entirely. Now, let's see...", he started thinking again. "Kiku-san needs to bring Kaoru-chan back into the soul society so that he can recieve more treatment for his wounds... Marley-kun can help her transport him there. Then Yume-san and myself will go and search the city for Rai-kun and Yuki-chan. Who knows, we might also come across Bael or Kusa as well."
"We better get going, we have to keep moving or they'll find us." Yuki said pulling Rai with her,
"Ow! Ok ok! I'll come just stop with the pulling!!" Rai snapped, releasing himself from her grasp, "Let's go!"
The two of them dashed in a direction going further from the park Yuki had sensed the others at.
Rune turned to Marley and Kiku. "You two, please take Kaoru-chan back to the Soul Society immediately.", he said, before his eye caught on something. "Kiku-san, that badge that he's clutching in his hand... Hang on to that for him and give it to him if and when he wakes up." Then he looked over at Yume. "Now, let us go and search for them." With that, he took off from the other two shinigami, Yume alongside him.
Kaoru, though unconscious, was still holding Kusa's discarded fukutaichou badge in his hand.
Kusa followed Bael, racing along rooftops and telephone polls. He made sure not to make a sound and to keep his spirit energy well hidden. His scythe was being firmly gripped within his hand, a smirk upon his lips. When he finally caught up with his former friend, he leaped from a telephone poll and landed in front of Bael, taking a fighting stance with his scythe. "You're such a fool!", he cried, laughing afterwards.
Kiku bent down and carefully pried Kusa's badge from Kaoru's fingers. She folded the cloth neatly and tucked the entire thing into her medical bag for safekeeping. She then drew her zanpakutou and started hacking a pair of long, study branches off the nearest tree. Using the rags from Marley's pants and the bandages she had refilled her bag with, she crafted a crude but serviceable stretcher of sorts. Moving Kaoru onto the stretcher was rather tricky, but she managed. Then she had to pause and rest for a minute, not being a very physically strong person. "Marley-san?" she called tentatively. "Could I have you pick up the other end of this stretcher?" She indicated the branches next to Kaoru's head. "We'll have to get him back to the senkaimon we came through, since I can't create one here by myself..."
Yuki and Rai dashed from rooftops to light poles attempting to get away from the pair pursuing them. They both dashed passed the scene of Kusa readying in a fighting stance in front of Bael.
"Hey wasn't that....?"
"Ignore it, what you saw isn't important, our priority is to stay hidden from the two following us." Yuki said, interuping Rai's question.

"Hehehe, I was wondering when I was gunna get through to you.... Yuki...."
"um.....Kay? Do I need to pack a tooth brush? Maybe some clean underwear?" Marley said as he picked up the stretcher.
Kiku held back a sigh, figuring it would be impolite. "No, you won't need any of those items," she told him. After she checked on Kaoru to make sure the stretcher would hold, she set off toward the gate. "We'll only have to get just inside the gate. Other Shinigami there will help me transport Miyazaki-san to where he will receive the necessary medical attention." She paused, although she didn't stop walking. "After we get him safely to Seireitei, I'll have to ask you to leave. The Gotei 13 don't take too kindly to intruders, I'm afraid."
"You mean I won't be able to get a souvenir? That's not cool....I wanted a plastic Zangetsu!"
Bael saw his target, and quickly drew his axe, leaping into the air, slamming it down toward his target.
Kusa smirked as he watched Bael draw his massive axe. Though the warrior could move considerably fast while wielding it, he was still a little slow. The axe was coming down but it merely impacted upon the ground. It shattered the concrete and created a small fissure where Kusa had been previously. The younger male tisked at his former friend. "Now, now... Sloppy charges like that will cause you to lose your head.", he commented from behind Bael. His scythe was poised the cleave cleanly through Bael's neck at any sudden movements.
As Marley exited the portal back the the human realm, he decided to check up on the other shinigami there. "Is there anything in particular you guys want me to do? Or can I go home now?"
Rune and Yume continued to track Yuki and Rai as they made their way around the city. But as they neared their targets, Rune began to feel two other spiritual signitures that he knew all too well. It was apparent that Kusa and Bael were nearby. He stopped, haulting Yume as well. "I know that you can sense them nearby... All four of them. What should we do, Yume-san? Taking on Kusa and Bael right now would be risky... and we can't let Yuki and Rai get away from us again.", the fukutaichou said quietly.

Rune almost jumped as Marley approached the two of them. He'd been so focused on the other four shinigami in the area that he hadn't noticed Marley's reiatsu. "Oh...", he said, breathing a sigh of relief. "Well... Actually, I might have something for you to do, Marley-san. Yume-san and I have to continue our chase of Yuki and Rai... But would you mind staying here and keeping an eye on Bael and Kusa? You can keep in contact with us by mobile. Just don't let yourself be found, okay? We don't need another shinigami severly injured..."
'That's... Kiku-san's voice...', Kaoru thought as he began to regain consciousness. He was aware that he was laid horizontally and that he didn't want to move his body at all. His dark eyes opened. They took in the sight of Kiku standing nearby. 'Why am I seeing this...? I should be dead... Right?', another mental thought said inside his mind. "Kiku-san? What happened...?", Kaoru asked, not daring to move from his current position.
"Pfft. Please. Against those guys? whatev, I'll check it out. And technically, I'm not an official shinigami." Marley said as he ran towards where the fight was, being careful not to be seen. "Man, this doesn't look to good for The Rock over there....If things get a bit too dicey, I can always jump in and help out." Marley smirked "Or I could just sit back and watch. I could probably handle Kusa on my own. If not, I'll just call for backup."
Yume watched Marley leave with some amusement in her eyes. "I guess our little problem solved itself," she noted. "To be honest, I would have suggested splitting up. I could stay and observe Kusa and Bael while trying not to attract attention while you could continue pursuing. Unless you'd rather do the watching and let me do the chasing. Either way works, although having the help of Marley simplifies things." Shrugging, she turned to Rune. "Should we go on?"
Kiku, startled that Kaoru had regained consciousness so quickly, hurried to his side. "Please try not to move or talk much," she requested, eyes worried. "You've lost several internal organs from your fight, and I didn't have the time or expertise to get you back to normal. We've just finished transporting you to the Fourth Division General Relief station. Due to the severity of your injuries, you won't be able to get out of bed for a week or so."
After a brief pause, she rummaged through her medical bag. "Here. We found you holding onto this. If it brings you any comfort, you can have it back. Or I can continue to keep it safe for you. It was then that young Rath peeked his head around the corner, looking into the room. "Kaoru-chan...!", he said, running inside and over to the bed. "Oh my gosh... Are you all right? What happened? Where's big brother?", the child asked all in a rush, pouting at the end.

I'm rewriting what I can remember of my last post before the Time Warp and adding a bit of new.
Rune held Nijigasumi pointed straight at the young girl. In all honesty, he didn't want to believe that Yuki had been overtaken by another enemy, nor did he want to believe that she was also a Vizard. But if that truly was the case, then she would have to be executed as well. He turned his gaze mournfully to her before speaking.
"Yuki... No, you're not Yuki right now. So then, what shall we call you? Regardless, I doubt you'll tell us where Rai-kun is, even if we were to ask you.", the fukutaichou said quietly.

Dale had already begun to walk away from where Kusa's body had been left when he felt the substitute shinigami following him. He stopped, turning to look at Marley.
"Oh, you're going to help me? That's fine... The problem is, I have no idea where to start. Rai-san could be anywhere.", he said, looking around in every direction, hoping that he'd manage to sense something.

Kaoru reached towards the nightstand, his hand leaving the naginata where it lay, and gently grasping the stems of the rose boquet before bringing it towards himself. His dark eyes dulled slightly, loosing their sheen, as he cradled the roses against his chest. A small smile conformed his lips as he turned his gaze towards the other shinigami. It took a moment before he was able to speak.
"... I guess I really should be lamenting Kusa's death, but... these are so beautiful...", he said softly.

Dale had already begun to walk away from where Kusa's body had been left when he felt the substitute shinigami following him. He stopped, turning to look at Marley.
"Oh, you're going to help me? That's fine... The problem is, I have no idea where to start. Rai-san could be anywhere.", he said, looking around in every direction, hoping that he'd manage to sense something.

Kaoru reached towards the nightstand, his hand leaving the naginata where it lay, and gently grasping the stems of the rose boquet before bringing it towards himself. His dark eyes dulled slightly, loosing their sheen, as he cradled the roses against his chest. A small smile conformed his lips as he turned his gaze towards the other shinigami. It took a moment before he was able to speak.
"... I guess I really should be lamenting Kusa's death, but... these are so beautiful...", he said softly.

Bael was quiet, his eyes were closed, and he was turned away from Kaoru, arms crossed. He simply couldn't think of anything to ssay or do. He was surprised that Kaoru wanted him to stay, and was treating him so nicely, seeing how his brother did just get slain...

The smile stayed in place as Kaoru observed the other's uncomfortable posture. "Oh, come now... This isn't like you.", he paused, plucking a single red petal from one of the roses. "Have you forgotten that I too tried to kill Kusa? That is how I ended up here in this condition, after all. Please, you don't have to feel bad... I'm certain that Kusa is better off now." After setting the flowers back on the nightstand, the injured shinigami attempted to shift in the bed so that he could stand up. But even the smallest movement of his midsection sent a jolt of pain through his body and he gasped softly.

Bael listened to the other's words, eyes still closed. Bael nodded at the final statement, sitting up straight. "You're right... Had he actually been thinking properly, he would have wanted this..." He let loose a small smile, but gently held Kaoru's arm down. "You aren't leaving this bed yet, you aren't recovered." He said, gently but firmly.

Comfort and Closure
Kaoru normally would have insisted on being allowed to stand up but the pain from his stomach and sides, accompanied by Bael's hand on his arm, persuaded him to simply just lay back down. He panted slightly, hating the fact that his injuries had left him so weak. "Well... there's something that I want you to have. I was trying to get it, but... Maybe I can reach it from here."
With that, he reached towards the top drawer of the nightstand beside the bed. It was pulled open to reveal a furoshiki cloth, which was wrapped around something. Kaoru carefully picked up the furoshiki and began to unfold it. Resting in the center of the cloth was Kusa's Fukutaichou badge. He smiled, holding the badge out to Bael. "Please, take it. I'm sure that you would make a fine Fukutaichou."
Bael just retracted slightly, refusing to touch the badge. "Wh... Are you serious? What makes you think I'm Vice Captain material...?", he asked, looking at the badge.
Kaoru placed a finger to the side of his chin in thought. "Well, let's see... You're absolutely amazing in battles and your strength is right up there with Rune-san's and Yume-san's. Plus, you've got some fairly strong morals and you never leave your team mates hanging in the wind. Besides, just take a good long look at me. Because of my foolishness, I lost a few internal organs and am still so weak I can hardly move. You, on the other hand, are standing tall and well."
Bael still stood where he was. "I just don't know... I'm used to just being a lackey..."
Kaoru giggled, bringing his hand up to cover his mouth. "Now, I know that isn't true, Bae-chan. It was you who took the initiative and saved Kusa the first few times, even against the superior's orders. Besides, you're still only second in command under Hitsugaya-Taichou."
Bael sighed softly as he reached forward and grasped the badge. "Fine..."
As Bael took hold of the badge, Kaoru in turn took hold of his hand and pulled him into a gentle hug. "I'm glad that you're going to accept it... I'm also very happy that you didn't die as well. Losing you both would have made it so much harder on me.", he said quietly, hugging his friend.
Bael just stumbled slightly as he was pulled into the hug. It was a position that he'd rarely ever found himself in. He closed his eyes and gently wrapped his arms around the frailer man.
Kaoru smiled softly, leaning his head against the other's shoulder. He opened the folds of the badge and carefully tied it around Bael's right arm, securing it in place. "There... Now, I don't believe that Rune-san and the others have returned yet... Perhaps you should go and check on them, in case they've run into trouble."
He stepped back and nodded softly to him. "Yeah... You'll be all right by yourself...?"
Kaoru smiled and nodded in return. "Of course... Kiku-san and Rath-kun are running around here somewhere. I'll be fine.", he paused, his damp eyes brightening. "Oh, but you have to come and visit later on. I'm pretty sure that I'll be in here for quite a while."
Bael nodded. "I will. Bye..." He said softly, turning to the exit and leaving.

Yuki's said, "Now then, do you seriously think you can defeat this puppet of mine who holds the powers of my kind?" Yuki leaped forward "Spread your wings! Hayaikaze!" she said, as her blade turned into a large steel fan. She raised the fan and swung it down, sending a shockwave of spiritual pressure towards Yume.

Yume vanished from where she stood, reappearing behind Yuki. "Now that doesn't make much sense. Yuki's a Shinigami just as much as we are, or she at least looks it. Why should he obey her over the rest of us?" She twirled her sword in a quick little circle, going into shikai as she did so. The water droplets that left the blade during the spin transformed into ice birds and hovered around her protectively.

After the statement, white substance began to spring forth from her mouth, covering her face until the shape of a hollows mask was formed.
