Ctrl-Alt-Del

Post by PoikSpirit »

For this week's comic, I thought I'd post one that is already popular and you have probably heard of. This is because most of the other comics I read that haven't been mentioned are just okay at best.
Ctrl-Alt-Del is a comic that starts out like any other, and they even joke about that at the beginning, but many strange and interesting plot twists evolve out of a sick and twisted warped mind (Ethan's) such as Wintereenmas, the best holiday ever. As a warning, this comic can be a little vulgar at times.
Here's a favorite just cause I like chef Brian. And this too.
Ever meet people like this? They're fun to mess with.
Oh, and I have to point out this because it makes fun of all three operating systems, which is a nice change.

This webcomic has a moral. "Don't stand where the random arrow is passing through."
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

It's quite a good comic. But the fact that there are two characters playing computer games at beginning really sucks (though later the guy with the penguin comes), as there is a lot of comics like that (Actiontrip, Penny Arcade, GUcomics...). Jokes are funny, and the random arrow ones are just too random :p

I thought you were grounded. Then again, I'm one to talk considering I posted a bit while I was grounded (there's an online study center for one of my textbooks, if you can find one for your's then you may be able to get an excuse to go on the computer Kisori).

Man that's a big archive... Anyway, at this point I've read my way through most of the archives, although I'm rather surprised I last so long. More on that later...

The art isn't anything amazing but it's not bad either. Certainly gets the job done and looks fine doing it.
Like I said in my Apple Geeks review, I think the whole 'gamer buddy' comic genre has been done to death and I usually find them predictable and not all that funny and get bored before reading all that far. Well, aside from the fact that Ctrl+Alt+Del had the guts to make fun of how generic it's start was, that's the vibe I was getting from it at first. I got bored pretty quick and was really only reading cause of the club requirements. But there were occasional strips that I found pretty funny (and Winter-een-mas is kinda cool) so I kept reading for a bit longer and the funny strips became more common and more stuff was introduced to the comic so there weren't nearly as many 'generic gamer buddy' strips.
Overall, it's not bad. A bit generic at times (a whole lot early on) there still a decent amount of strips that I think fall pretty flat, but there's enough good ones that I'm still reading it.

I stopped reading at this comic and have no plans of continuing. Gamer buddy comics have always struck me as dull (yes, even if the hero is homicidal and the sidekick is sarcastic)... so when they got in to the Gamecube bashing (Ninento > Sony > Spambots > Microsoft) I just didn't enjoy the comic.

It was funny for a while, and I enjoyed the random detective parody comics, but I'm just not as patient for this type of comic as Josiah is.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I didn't like that strip either. But actually, Ethen gets a Gamecube later and likes it...

I wouldn't exactly say I'm patient, I just have this inner drive to finish just about everything I seriously start, which for webcomics would be something along the lines of reading more than 20 strips. If something is really bad I'll drop it almost instantly (like a couple of strips). If it's at least so-so I'll usually keep going with it until I finish it, it gets worse, or I find something better to read. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing though...
