Josiah VS Sally's Wraith

Josiah used his Supreme Haste spell card then shot forward. With the speed boost, on top of WInd Supreme's already high speed, he easily snatched the sword out of the air and hurled it back and Sally. A moment later, Virgo finished her chanting as dark clouds covered the sky and large powerful beams of light energy began to rain down all over the battlefield.

((Virgo is using Shadows of Heaven, another move from one of our past battles. But you don't really need to look it up since I pretty much just described what it does.))

"The only thing speed cannot beat..." I muttered while I plunged into the ground to shield myself from the apocalyptic beams, being a good 10 meters under the sand before I started to chant too, my voice resonating over all the field. "Sin Harvest!"

"Some one has been playing way too many video games." Josiah muttered. Knowing what was coming, he quickly thought of a couple ways to counter it. "Virgo, get ready...Now!"

"Angel's Restoration!" Virgo's healing move hit her the instant after Sin Harvest, restoring the damage she'd taken.

Josiah thought about going down after Sally but decided to wait for her to come to him, at least for now. "Windborn Speed!" he cast a buff spell, giving both himself and Virgo another, albiet temporary, speed boost.

Excellent. I see the lil halo...so let's throw in the nifty stuff to go with it!

"Sandstorm in your face!"

True to her words, a very large sandstorm roared around the whole desert, the sand scratching everything on it's way and making sight almost impossible.

Just after this, she chained her spell into a mass darkness one, covering a good chunk of the desert and going as high as the clouds.

Finally, the sly (and bitchy) tigress weaved a zone of silence over the cloud of void.

Now that they are occupied...time to repossess something more tangible, I hope Virgo will be accomodating.

Being in wind elemental form, Josiah had no trouble countering and blowing away Sally's sandstorm with a Hurricane Force attack and followed it up with Air Blades, which sent a large collection of air blades spinning around the battlefied. (The blades will continue spinning around for a while and will likely hit Sally if she resurfaces any time soon.)

When the darkness spell hit, Virgo immediately began trying to dispel it.

The silence spell was no more than a minor annoyance as the two of them could communicate telepathically so they ignored it for the time being.

While the sandstorm still raged outside of the Hurricane Force (Which I assume...is...a hurricane...) the blades started to bounce around the fighting area without hitting anything but potentially sand.

My plan worked...she's trying to dispel it...heh, good luck but here goes.

Sally teleported right inside Virgo and suddenly the latter could feel a very strong mind try to take over her body.

"Can I interest you in some lovely cake? I assure you it is OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND on the deliciousness scale!"

(The nonsense is meant to distract her, so was everything else. Distraction leads to a weakened focus which leads to a weaker will which leads to easier possession. Sally is also trying to prevent her from talking to Josiah.)

Virgo immediately stopped her dispel. Unfortunately for Sally, she was quite adept at fighting off mind control. Ignoring Sally's babbling, she managed to get off a quick message to Josiah. Who, due to both his connection with Virgo and his limited aura sensing abilities, had already guessed that something similiar was going on.

"She's trying a possession. Not sure if I can throw her completely but I can hold her off a while at very least."

Josiah transformed again, this time switching to Perfect Light. He gathered power for a moment while Virgo continued to fight off Sally's control then let it explode in all directions. "Null Field!!!"

((Null Field is an extremely powerful area dispel. It should get rid of the darkness and silence spells and might interrupt or at least hinder Sally's possession attempts.))

The Null Field managed to stop the whole darkness and silence for the nanosecond it was fired, the whole thing just creeping back as quick as it was dispelled.

Awwww godammit ...she managed to alert him...but she can't fend me off forever...then this battle is mine!

The tigress let some of her chaotic energies slip inside Virgo, distorting her senses and causing hallucinations while making her more receptive to Sally's possession.

Josiah sighed inwardly as Sally's spells returned. Fortunately, the failed attempt had enabled him to figure out why it hadn't worked. "Ok fine, enough playing around. Time to get serious." Holding up all his monster cards, except Virgo's, he transfromed into Rainbow Ultima. Taking immediate advantage of the massive power boost, he used Null Field again, this time over a much larger area, in order to completely eradicate Sally's spells. He also hoped the the extra power would screw up her possesion trick but, if it didn't, he figured that Virgo could hold out long enough for him to try one more thing.

When Null Field was used again, everything became clear again to everyone, the darkness having completely vanished along with the silence zone, the sandstorm, and Sally.

There was no trace of her anywhere. Virgo's mind was no longer assaulted by the savage rendings of Sally's dark powers.

"Are you ok?" Josiah cautiously scanned the area with both his eyes and his senses.

"I think so but I'm not sure why she'd just vanish like that when she was so close to taking over. She's up to something."

"We'll be ready for it."

Josiah continued to scan the area, while preparing several different moves to counter Sally's next attack, whatever it may be. Meanwhile, Virgo used Divine Gift, increasing both of their attack and defense.

Deep inside the very soul of Virgo, whatever it may be composed of, Sally plotted and deemed both her new vessel and Josiah had their guard down enough for hir to surge back.

Virgo used her Divine Gift only on herself and shouted to Josiah with a dry tone and a different voice "NO DIVINE GIFT FOR YOU!", her eye color turning to pure gold and her skin starting to grow fur. Her aura darkened and became more chaotic, reeking of new power coming unknown source. Right after saying those words her spear engulfed itself in burning flames, the girl dashing toward Josiah to attempt to impale him on it. "Hellish Spear!"

Meanwhile, Virgo's consciousness got trapped into a lounge that she didn't see for a few years while Sally's voice came from behind her. "Popcorn?"

Having not entirely ruled out such a move on Sally's part (well, the possession anyway, not the physical changes), Josiah saw the attack coming and was able to easily evade it thanks to his majorly boosted speed.

"You know, for all the work you spent planning out this little trick of yours, you forgot one very important thing." his tone was somewhere between anger and amusement. "As human as she is, Virgo is technically a monster. What's more, she's my monster, and I'm not going to let you use her like this." he held up Virgo's card. "Return!" In a flash, Virgo's body vanished.

Well that sucked...just because I didn't plan for that doesn't mean I can't get out of it anyway...I've been out of much worse things.

So easy to mess with that...

Josiah heard Sally's laugh from within the card, then the same voice also came from behind him, somehow standing not far but his card still reads that she's inside.

The duplicate Virgo announced with a grin how she managed to get out:
"Am in two places at the same time. And you cannot recall what already is recalled, right?"

"A clone?" he sighed. "Fine, whatever. But I think your plan still has a few flaws. Forever Zero!!!" icy air surrounded Sally and a moment later she found herself incased in the center of a very large ball of ice.

"He's right you know." Virgo replied from Sally's little lounge. "I'm weak to ice attacks and, since you're copying me, so are you."
