ROM 2: Zodiac Legends

"He won't come out. He'll be there waiting for us. He knows we'll have to come to him enventually."

"Yeah, guess you're right. We'd better fly then. Go Armor Dragon!" *The others summoned their flying monsters as well.* "Virgo, you're riding with me. I'd let you use Night Wing but I don't want to risk it getting KO'd. I'd like to reach the fortress with all my monsters intact and Armor Dragon can take hits way better."

"Everyone ready?"

"Looks like it. Let's go!"

*They all took off into the air.*

"Look! Armor Dragons up ahead!"

"And that is why I wanted to stay on the ground. Those things have insane defense..."

((Hey guys, please do not have any of my monsters get KO'd, I need them all for something I have planned.))

Shauni began to grin to herself after spotting something in the middle of The dragon flock
"You are so mine!" she yelled!
"Pirogoth! Use Hail to Monroe!"

The griffen lit up the sky around it with burning flames clearing a path threw the dragons, she quickly had to dive head first threw the gap

"what the hell are you doing???"

A large gold dragon monster quickly emegred from the center of the flock, disturbing the formation

"is that a....a..."
"its a Gershwin!" yelled shauni as she emerged from behind the monster in one peace
"and its mine!"

She threw out two cards, relasing Yin Yang and Omega
"Use Bitter Sweet and Sailers Whim! Pirogoth, follow it with Soviat Slow!"

Yin Yang and Omega struck the dragon and then the griffen followed, the dragon began to plumit towords the ground, shauni chasing after it on pirogoth
"Card go!" she yelled as she thew the card
It struck the Gershwin and it disapred into the card
She dived down faster and caught the card
"Alright! Now all I need is a shrine.."
"Hay! When youved finsihed adding to your team, can you like, LEND US A HAD!"
Oops, sorry"
she quickly dived back into action, her monsters still out and began to attack the Dragons remain

*Finally they made it to the gates of Moen's Keep. Before them stood a massive door. The wind had picked up significantly and a thunderstorm was brewing. This was it... the final battle.*

*David approached the door but was knocked back by an invisible force.*

"It's the barrier." *Josiah drew the zodiac sword.* "Let me handle this. Zodiac Sky!!!" *The attack shattered the barrier and the group cautiously opened the door and stepped inside.*

"Holy fudgecrackers! That's a lot of hallways!" *Silver gaped at the twenty seperate passages leading away from the entry room.*

"No problem, Josiah was here before. He knows which way to go, right?"

"Actually, I didn't come in from up here so no..."

"Well this sucks. Unless there's a giant sign saying 'This way to Moen' we could be wondering in here for hours."

"Uh, you guys might want to look behind you."

*Everyone turned to see a giant sign saying 'This way to Moen' with an arrow pointing down the rightmost passage.*

"Ok..."

"Either Moen is insanely stupid or it's a trap and he thinks we are..."

"I got an idea!" *Throws a rock down the hall way and it causes two logs to swing from the walls and collide, smashing the rock*

"...And why did you have a rock in your pocket for no reason?"

They all tured there attention back to the hall way, they waited a full five minuites but nothing else happend
"Well, I guess its safe"
Shauni went to step forward until silver dramatacialy pulled her back
"Wait you fool!"
what what!"
"Just cos it passed you 'rock test' doesnt mean its safe, what if its presure sencered or theres a trip wire!"
Shauni looked back at him "Man, you watch to many Indian Jones Movies..."
"HELLO! This is a computer game world silver, stuff like that is BOUND to happen, shauni is right, we need to be more careful...."
"well, ok, now what...."

Suddenly a voice from all around them interupted there concentration

"Shaunicoco Akectchi and Josiah Lebowitz step forward"

Josiah steped forward,
"Who is this Shaunicoco Akectchi?"
Shauni frowed and tured red "thats me"
"wow, what a crapy name"

"You two have been selected by Moen for safe passage to his Temple, he wishes to offer you and alternative to battle"

"Its a trick...I know it..."
"Most likly, but what other option do we have?"
Virgo steped forward "Be careful"

((Uh... Silver already threw the rock and there was a trap. And I don't exactly appreciate that 'throws like a girl' comment... plus he's not THAT stupid. He's only stupid when it's supposed to be funny...))

"Tch, now this is definitly a trap. An alternative to battle? Moen's the final boss, battle is what he was made for. If anything he's just going to ask us to join him."

"Still, it would get us through the fortress..."

"Maybe. We only have Moen's word on that..."

"I think we should try it."

"Ok... But I don't like it. Silver, David you two take a different route and try to find Moen yourselves, the sooner you reach him the better. Hopefully we'll be there too. If he's still in the room where I fought him, it takes up most of the lowest level so keep heading down. Virgo, you're coming with me."

"But he didn't say my name."

"You're a spirit remember, just revert to card form. I'd much rather stay together."

"Me too." *Virgo returned to her card.*

"Good luck!"

"We'll meet you in Moen's chamber."

"Right. Be careful guys."

shauni and Josiah followed the directed path until they arrived at a temple like structure in the center of the complecx
"Moen!" she yelled, causing an ecco
"Yes, it is I, Moen" a vocie came with no physical owner
"What do you want!"
"Why, to strick you an offer, give me Sutra, Virgo and Shaunicoco and I will let the rest of you live a little longer"
Josiah suck his head "No deal, now, come out a die like a good final boss!
Nothing appred
"Well?"
"Not yet, if you refuse my offer, then you will face your own mimi boss, Guystern! Apper!"

A monster appred from the shadows
"Doesnt look very tough....."
"Guess its a boss battle with just us two...."
"Bet I land the final blow!"
Josiah smiled "Your own!"

"This place is full of traps, stop talking and pay attention to where you're going!"

"Go Pyrogoth!"

*Perfect Light looked over Guystern.* "I don't want to waste time fighting a mini boss so let's end this fast. Wrath of God!"

"Soviet Slough!" ((Did I get that attack name right?))

*The two attacks struck Guystern, blowing it to bits.*

"Tch, all too easy."

"Oh no! Look!" *Shauni pointed at the remains of the monster and they began to reform. In seconds Guystern was back to normal.*

"It can regenerate? Guess this battle might be a little better than I thought."

"are you sure its a dark type Josiah?" asked shauni as there ligh attacks just made it fall to bits and regreatre
"I'm not sure....what other type could it be???"
"A new type?"
"Zombie?"
"Thats it!" shauni drew out her daggers "Like the zombie zodiacs in the dark world, use cure magic on it!"
"Holy Draw!"
shauni struck the monster and hit a critical hit, but it didnt fall
"That was my best attack....."
"Never mind that! Just keep hitting it with that! Go Virgo!"
Virgo appred in a white light from the card
"Virgo! Use cure magic on it!"
"What??"
"please...just do it!"
"Hit it with everything you got, we need to get back to the others as fast as possible!"

((BTW: I added some info about the new ROM3 types in my updated reference post in ROM3. Light does work on them, I'm just using the wrong attacks.))

"Um, if you're sure..." *Virgo still looked confused.* "Maiden's Healing!"

*Guystern screached as the healing magic hit it but was still on its feet.*

"Now it's time for the finisher!" *Josiah unmerged. "Go Black Flare! Magma Ocean!!!"

*The wall of magma hit Guystern, engulfing it in flames. In moments nothing but ashes remained.*

"Whoa... How did you know fire would work?"

"I've played a million RPGs." *Josiah calmly returned Black Flare.* "Zombies are almost always weak against light, healing magic, and fie."

"This is the only way out." *Virgo called to them from a staircase leading far down into the darkness.*

"Well, let's get going then. I just hope Silver and David are ok."
