An Update
As a quick heads up, I want to let everyone know that I've updated the forum software (no, that's not the reason the site has been going down from time to time, that was some upgrade my hosting company was doing). The update is mainly bug fixes and a few minor additions (mostly admin stuff) so chances are you won't notice any real differences (other than a fix to that annoying IE8 scrolling bug in really long posts), but let me know if you run into any problems.

this might be related. the "view active topics" section of the site keeps showing me "No suitable matches were found." but I'd just made like 3 news posts, even if the sight was inactive it should have found those.

You know, no sooner do I update the forums to from 3.0.2 to 3.0.7 (yeah, didn't bother for quite a while) than they go and release 3.0.8 
It's supposed to have a lot of bug fixes. Fortunately, since updating to newer versions of 3 seems a million times easier than it was to upgrade from 2 to 3 (that last upgrade only took about an hour) I'll probably go ahead and update it again sometime over the weekend.

And the forums have been updated again. Hopefully it'll be a while before the next version. Once again, let me know if you run into any problems.
