Since E3 2012 is currently ongoing, I feel compelled to make a double post. My thoughts on the things that have interested me.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II: Well, the CoD franchise has officially jumped the shark. I mean, once you go to the future, what do you do for the next game? World War One? The French Revolution? CoD: Space Warfare? And apart from the surprisingly not-dead Frank Woods, how does this have anything to do with the previous Black Ops?

Dead Space 3: Am I the only person who thinks this looks uncannily similar to Lost Planet with the giant insects replaced with giant masses of reanimated flesh?

Far Cry 3: This game looks insane... literally. It manages to pack more crazy into a single trailer than an entire season of Dexter. The typically entertaining Crytek open-ended stealth/action gunplay doesn't hurt either.

The Last of Us: One of my personal favourites; a grim, beautiful, brutul survival shooter by the makers of Uncharted. Hell. Freaking. Yes.

Wii U: Nope, still don't care.

Halo 4: I'd rather have a decent Windows port of Halo 3, but since when did Microsoft ever publish computer games?

Assassin's Creed III: Looks pretty nifty, but I'm not sure if anything in the series can top the second game.

Resident Evil 6: I'm interested, but also feeling a bit left out of the loop story-wise considering that RE4 has been my only previous experience with the series.

Watch Dogs: Sweet concept, if somewhat paranoia-inducing. This one certainly has my attention going forward.

Overall I felt that the show was somewhat underwhelming in comparision with previous years, but that may just be because my most anticipated game at the moment (Bioshock: Infinite) didn't make an appearance. And because Diablo III wasn't there as usual, what with being released to the public and all. Aaaand still no Half-Life 2: Episode 3, but at this point I'm just nitpicking.

You do really that this is only the first day of E3, right? It goes through Friday. Anyway, my internet here is really slow so I probably won't be able to catch up on all the news until the weekend.

Personally I actually think the Wii U could be decent. Now due to money issues I won't be getting one til probably next year when the price drops some but that Zombie U actually looks very fun :)

Don't own an XBox so though there are some good stuff comming out, nothing to really care much about and missed seeing Sony due to Spike deciding not to run their big presentation on Monday.

The WiiU seems... better. When they first announced it, I thought it was probably the stupidest decision Nintendo's ever made. Now I think it's only a slightly stupid decision. And the stupidness of it mostly comes from the timing, in that they just got the 3DS out and that was a big wallet-drainer. If they squeeze their fans too dry, there won't be anything left to put into those expensive games that they want to sell. Microsoft and Sony don't seem like they're even thinking about new consoles right now - Sony made the Vita compatible with the PS3, which says to me they're not even considering making a PS4 to connect it to. So it's not like Nintendo needs to rush to beat out their competition... maybe in that sense it's a good thing to get it out now? It won't be competing against any other home console at least... Eh. Moving on to the WiiU is like admitting that the Wii was inferior to its competition... for being the top seller overall, it had a pretty short life.

On which note, I'm really glad they've confirmed Motion Plus support for WiiU. Because if the only thing they used it for was Skyward Sword, that would be pretty pathetic.

Controller design looks better than what they had originally shown us, I still think the control stick placement is weird but at least they're control sticks now. Those circle pad things were a terrible idea. The Pro controller looks nice, but I don't get why they couldn't have stuck with the Classic controller... outside of the fact that they want more money anyway. Still, it doesn't make sense to waste your own money designing and producing new controllers when you can re-use the old ones...

Nintendo Land seems fun, but it's a terrible way to end the show. I mean, they announced Two New Super Mario Bros titles, plus Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario. So why finish with a Mario Party clone? They could have saved any of those other things for last and gotten a much better reaction. Hell, use Nintendo Land at the start and give us Pikmin 3 at the end. Still, I can't really criticize Nintendo's sense of staging after Microsoft's... Usher incident.

But mostly, I can't criticize them because Reggie's body was, indeed, ready.

Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Reggie definitely won this E3. Not Nintendo, Reggie.
Whether he is human, a Purple Pikmin, or a zombie with a craving for the French, keep in mind this.
His body was, is, and will forever be ready.

Really, I wish I was lying when I say that Reggie was the only person that had me enjoy this E3.

EDIT: Oh yes, and then there's this guy.

Anyone played One Piece Pirate Warriors? PSN has that big special going on this month so I'm considering getting it, but reviews are mixed and at $60 isn't cheap.

Since no one else has brought it up yet, what do you guys think about the PS4 so far?

I never have much thoughts on most consoles as they're announced and pretty much go through the same cycle every time.
1. See announcement, think it's pretty "meh".
2. Launch approaches, I lurk communities to see actual player thoughts.
3. Months pass, hype dies, I can actually properly pre-judge the console.
4. Some more time passes when it builds a library, this is where I'm interested and might buy one.
Sure you can show me everything it can do, but how well will you use it? The PS3 took a while to get the ball rolling, I sure hope Sony does a better job this time around.

I'm using this thread as my soapbox.

Injustice: Gods Among Us comes out tomorrow, it's a new fighting game by Nether Realms based on DC Comics characters, and I'm super pumped for it. If anybody else gets it for PS3, we should play sometime.

Also, I own Pirate Warriors, and I'd recommend waiting for the sequel this summer, which by all accounts is a much better game.

Oh hey, turns out that NiS is still releasing Black Rock Shooter in the US...tomorrow. I'd nearly forgotten about that, since it's been so long since they announced it. Unfortunately, it's downloadable only, but at least we get it.

I've heard that name bandied about, but google isn't helping me greatly. Could you tell me about Blackrock Shooter?

It all started from a Vocaloid song... well, no, technically the artist had been drawing the design of the character long before that, but it got popular through the Miku song and spawned many, many videos, animated and CG models and all that, all over Nico Douga and Youtube. Because the character is technically not Miku, and thus not copyrighted by Sega/Crypton/five million other companies, it was an easy way to cash in on the Vocaloid hype without ACTUALLY using Vocaloid. So... people picked it up. Made a (really, really terrible) TV anime and a PSP game based off of the song and character designs. Very, very loosely based...

So that's Black Rock Shooter. They decided to localize the PSP game for the US because BRS is popular, even though the game looks like it kinda sucks.

Eh, the movie was decent (certainly not great though). Haven't seen the regular anime though. Character designs are cool at least. The game got decent reviews in Japan, so I'm keeping an eye on it. Might wait for reviews before buying though.

Double post but...Project Diva F is coming to the US in August for PS3!!! I kinda wish we'd be getting the Vita version too, but oh well. I can always pick that one in Japan.

Also, long as I'm double posting anyway, my summer pre-order list:
Last of Us
Muramasa Rebirth
Project X Zone
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection (I already have all the games, but not in HD, and I want the extra)

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix should be up there too, but it's not really out in summer and I haven't pre-ordered it yet since I want to be sure where I'll be living in September first.

Hey, did you see the Murdered: Soul Suspect trailer? It's a new game about a guy who got murdered and has to figure out his own murder as a ghost. All I want to know is, how has this game taken this long to get made?
