ROM 3: Shadows of Souls

Unicoco flet an cold wind across her face
"Its getting cold....I hate the cold"
She flew down from the tree and landed on the ground, she looked around her, she had ended up back near Onett.
"I can rest there"
She wondered towards the village, snow began to fall
"Great" she monded to herself
She enetered her house in the center of the village and within half an hour had lit a fire inside
She sat by the fire and streched out her hands, warming them
"This is better...."
A strange sensation filled her body
she tured around, and behind her stood a familiar figure
"Well, well, well, If its isnt Yomikko Leingod, our are you another dark puppet?"
Yomikko came into the room and sat by the fire
"I dont beleve I know you, who are you exactly?"
Unicoco smiled "Ah, so your just a soul....its weird, I felt...something when you diffted in, maybe...maybe...I can feel..."
Yomikko was inded a lost spirte, she was ghostly, see threw, and unaware of it
"Strange, I dont feel the heat from the fire"
"A soul has no heat sencers Yomikko, you dont have a body to warm"
Yomikko just smiled and noded "Yes, it is very cold"
Unicoco stood up "YOu hear what you want to hear now, just like you havent even noticed that your dead, or this rom is emtry, or the fact that I am...a freak, I guess being dead it not all bad"
Yomikko, again mealy smiled and noded "Yes, winter is coming"
"A poor NPC stripted of everthing, just like the other games, they dont hear the gamer.....poor Yomikko, maybe death is not so blissful"
"Indeed, I will gather more firewood to feed the flames"
Yomikko stood up and walked out of the building, disaping into the snow
"Poor reach...there are only two groups here that are coherent, the darkness...and the light...I guess I eather chose a side, or destry them both...."
She curled up to sleep in a corner of the hut
Yomikko came in and out of the hut several times, mearly repeating the same lines, as if she was stook on a loop
"The coding here is trahsed, who knows what that will mean...."

((I have a strange feeling he's not coming back...))

"Toshi, Flame Wing! Kojie, Light Slash! Spindice, Snowdrift!" *The attacks hit another mutation card (I forget what their names are...), but it wasn't quite enough... then, a little black bug jumped down and used the steel horn on its head to squish the mutation card.* "What the... there's only one monster that small that could squish something that strong flat as a pancake and that's..." *The insect turned around to reveal its red, glowing eyes* "Huene!"

"I still don't get how it squashed that thing..."

"He's made of metal! I dare you to try to pick him up..."

"Ignoring all the physical impossibilities of that happeing, there's still three more!"

((Edit: I have finished reading all the posts... first, The comic version of Silver's freaken awesome and second... if the 'Shadows of Souls' feed off the suffering of their counterparts, Silver's is gonna be pathetically weak! He's all... optomistic and Comic-Relief...ish. So we either gotta do something to him or that's gonna be a heck of an easy fight, or... if the good and evil versions can merge together... well, that would be interesting. Just a thought... Mwahahaha... I sense a plot twist coming on... *Is kidding about the plot twist, Zodiac Legends had enough plot twists to sink a ship. Heck, there were enough to sink a couple hundred ships*))

((Silver, first welocme back, and second, dont forget that silver is not 2d, he is a real person, which means something deeply personal may have happned to him, and its not just metal anguise you could us, shadow of souls get stronger from any suffering, why not brack something, like you leg))

The snow had stopped falling on Onett and Unicoco got ready to leave, she tured around one last time and watched Yomikko bring in yet more firewood for the fire which had gone out long ago
"Poor reach"
Unicoco began to fly into the air, it was still cold, and the whole area around Onett was now white
Unicoco gave a small smile
"Ha, snow, whitness in the dark Realm, only the coming of the heros has mad this, slowly Orca will be rebuilt here, and then the lord will have a world to rule, other than an endless black void, but it makes me wonder, does he even know how to control it...."
Unicoco took of into the sky, she headed towords the south, to the lords keep, she would face here former master, and destry him first....

"Mogalmel, use Quaker to keep them off balance while we attack!"

"Ragnarok, Power Surge!" *David attacked on of the fallen monsters.*

"Kojie, Light Slash!" *Silver hit another.*

"Virgo finish them both off with Heavenly Spear!" *Virgo's attack left only one Mutation monster remaining.*

"Um, guys, is it supposed to be glowing like that?" *Sure enough, the final monster was growing brighter and brighter.*

"This can't be good..."

Unicoco suddenly stopped mid flight, she sensed something, far away, but something
She turned towards where she had left the gamers to fend for themselves
"Something there....is becoming more powerful, perhaps I underestimated those mutations...."
She quickly turned back on herself and flew as fast as her wings could carry her back to the battle she had left, floating majestically above the flied, she witnessed the last mutation card, mutation glitch glowing and growing in size. The once 6 foot human like monster grew to over 20 foot, and when the glowing had receded, there stood a form close to an ape or silver back
"Hay, impressive, a mutation card has actually attained the final level of evolution, above adult it seems, so, this is a Nova level beast"
The other gamers looked up and saw the figure that had so quickly destroyed the first mutation monster
"its her!"
Unicoco looked down at them
"I never fully introduced myself before, my name is Unicoco"
She looked back over to the monster which had begun to glow and bellow
"O Shut up" she yelled
She fired up the same black ball above her head and launched it at the monster
"SNAKE BITE!"
The attack hit the monster and struck it back, but it got up again
unicoco looked a little suprised
"Hay, your stronger than I thought"
She fliped her wings backwards and landed on the ground
"Maybe you will be more fun than I thought!"

((A fourth evolution level? Sweet!!!))

*Mutation Glitch sent waves of energy across the ground. Mogalmel was KO'd but the others managed to dodge the attack.*

"Great..." *Josiah muttered.* "Not only do we have that super powered mutation, there's also this Unicoco person to worry about..." *He edged next to Virgo.* "Stay back and keep an eye on Unicoco, I don't trust her. If she does anything suspicious take her out."

"Right." *Virgo dropped back.*

*Suddenly David and Silver were sent flying by Mutation Glitch's attack as their monsters were KO'd.*

"Holy fudge crackers it's strong!"

"You're all weak. Step aside, I'll destroy it myself."

"I don't think so! This is our battle and we don't need your help! Go Night Wing!" *No sooner had the dark bird appeared than it began to grow as well.* "What the?!? Oh no, don't tell me it's still mutating from my clone's spell..." *A moment later the glow ceased. Night Wing had grown even larger than before and sleaker as well. It's beak was now sharp and jagged and the purple streaks the first transformation have given it were far more pronounced. Josiah quickly looked at its card.* "Midnight Wing? Wait, stage 4 of 3?"

"So, Glitch isn't the only monster that can grow to nova level..."

"Nova level?"

"A higher level? This is awesome! Let's do it Midnight Wing! Use Drill Dash!"

Unicoco smiled early at the sight of Midnight Wing
"I have a new idea, the winner will face me, be it Glitchest or Midnight Wing....I must be the strongest!"
Unicoco flew high into the air
"And one more thing, I dont liked begin watched"
She flew up and began to fire up for a snake bite attack
"No Virgo will defect me"
She was just about to launch the attack at Virgo when something stopped her
"I...I cant do it..."
The dark ball dissipated away over her head, she looked on at Virgo, who stared at her with hatred
"No....dont hate me....Virgo"
She landed back down to the ground
"I...I feel something....what is this?....guilt..."
Virgo, not knowing who Unicoco was lanced her own attacks at her
Unicoco, confused by her own emotions did not resist, and she was knocked into the fray or the to Nova monsters battles
She landed infunt of Midnight Wing, and Glitchest
Both of them launched an attack
Unicoco stood up
"It...it is guilt"
The two attacks hurtled towards Unicoco
"I...I am shauni"
The two attacks struck her and she was insanely KO'd
"What..shauni?? SHAUNI!!!"
Virgo ran to the fray, they lay unicoco on the floor, she was badly wounded and out for the count
"Virgo! It might be a trick! get out of there!"

Virgo trued, her eyes filled with tears
"It is shauni! it is her!"
Glitchest came appon both of them, it began to power up for an attack
"Josiah! Help!"
Josiah watched, fear for them both filling his heart
"NO! Midnight Wing! Save them!"

((V good, I added it to my concept art page under monsters))

Midnight Wing flew into action, Blocking Glitests fist from smacking down onto the two girls
Virgo began to drag Unicoco out of the fray but her progress was slow at best
Josiah dived into action and ran into the fray also, he reached Virgo quickly and as the to Nova beats battled intently above them, they finally managed to get the fairy out of there

Unicoco was bleeding from her head, here legs were twisted and her wings chard, now resembling rags
"O dear god...shauni...what happened to you?"
Midnight Wing managed to floor Glitchest and began to furiously peck it with its knife sharp beck, after a few intense moments, Glitesht disappeared into strands of coding, and dissipated into nothingness, Midnight Wing sworked furisy and then collapsed on the ground with a heavy thud
"Midnight Wing! Good job! Return!
Virgo began to us healing magic but nothing was working, Unicoco was in diar need of medical assistance, Virgo tried every spell she knew, but nothing worked, so the group could mealy bandage the wounds...and wait

*The group began walking through the forest once more with Raydion carrying Unicoco.*

"Well, on the bright side, we discovered that monsters actually have a fourth evolution level and we got Shauni back. On the down side, she seems to be some kind of monster, she's hurt, and a lot of our own monsters are KO'd."

"Too bad this game doesn't have revives like in Pok?mon." *Josiah sighed.* "We can't get through many more battles in this condition."

"Vahallo is at least another day's walk. We should do our best to avoid battles until we get there."

"No, wait. There is a shrine in this forest and we should be pretty close."

"Although, that's assuming that this world has the same layout as the old one."

"May as well take a look though. Josiah and David are right, we need to heal our monsters and get some rest ourselves and do something about Unicoco. So let's head for the shrine!"

"Uh Silver," *Josiah watched as Silver began walking off to the left.,* "it's this way."

"I knew that..."

Unicoco slept all the way to the shrine, she had been really ruffed up and she was still bleeding.
Luckly for the gamers there travles where uniterupted and they reahced the shrine without event

Raydion placed Unicoco on the ground and the gamers began the process of healing
"hay, somethings wrong...its not working!"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, its not working, the monsters hit points are still at zero, whats going on?"
Suddenly a voice stured from unicocos greneral direction
"That shrine wont work, this is the dark world, no light can exist here, and that shrine uses light magic, it wont do any good"
Josiah walked over to Unicoco, a septical eye glanced her over once
"Its ok, i'm not exactly able to attack you am I?"
He tured his head "I know a part of you is shauni, Virgo can sence it, but that doesnt mean I trust you yet"
Unicoco looked away and smiled with her eyes closed
"Thats fine, I never asked you to trust me"
Virgo walked over nd tryed to lighten the mood
"Well Shau...Unicoco, you seem to know alot about this world, maybe you can tell us how to heal here"
Unicoco noded "Yes, you need blessing spell first, and for a blessing spell you need a white mage"
Virgo smiled "Well, your a white mage right!"Unicoco looked up at her "Shauni is yes...but I dont know if I can..."
Josiah interupted
"What exactly are you?"
Unicoco tryed standing up, but her twisted knee soon had her on the floor again
"ahh...dam it, I what the lord has called a 'Hearts form', it when a shadow of souls merges data with anything beyond the dark realm"
"What?? Your a shadow of souls?"
"No! Listen! I am the merger of Unisha and Shauni, neather light nor darkness, its supposed to be an all powerful form, but as you can see, i'm not exactly all powerful yet"
"And what about those Nova level beats?"
"Its a glitch, the dark realm has shattered coding, no rules from Orca apply here"
Unicoco pointed a hand at the shrine and began to chant, soon enough the shrine glowed a brillent white
"...there, you should be able to use it now"
she cast the same spell on Virgo
"I have un-bond your white magic also, you should be able to cure me now..a little"
Virgo began her spells again, and sure enough Unicoco was reocvered within an hour, but her wings were now useless

*appears from the shadows* "So... we meet again."

"Again? Who are you?"

"Don't you recognize me... no I guess you wouldn't, considering this is my heart form. Take a wild guess. Who isn't with you?"

"It... it can't be..."

*Shauni runs over to hug Jeff and he cradles her in his arms. She breaks into tears.*

"Shauni..."

"I... I missed you... why did you leave me?"

*pushes Shauni away* ...you're pathetic. You rely on others too much. It's disgusting. You need to grow up Shauni. We're not always going to be here. What then? Are you going to just give up? Or are you going to go on? You have to keep fighting Shauni, you need to get stronger, or else you'll be doomed to fail. I'll be back... sometime..." *dissappears into the darkness*

(( My charatcer is still Unicoco for now, most of her personality is the shadow of souls, but I love what you posted, I have a grea ideat to lead on from this))

*pushes Shauni away* ...you're pathetic. You rely on others too much. It's disgusting. You need to grow up Shauni. We're not always going to be here. What then? Are you going to just give up? Or are you going to go on? You have to keep fighting Shauni, you need to get stronger, or else you'll be doomed to fail. I'll be back... sometime..." *dissappears into the darkness*

Unicoco was sobing
"I...I dont understand, I felt ....warm and then, my heart beated...and he...he...riped it out..."
Virgo walked over to confert Unicoco, but she tured a shoulder to her
"I...I am pathetic? Disgusting?.....I am doomed to fail?"
She slowly walked foward into the shadows, but Jeff wasnt there anymore, he had gone
"after all this...this suffering...he thinks he...he can just say these things to me?"
"Shauni..."
unicoco tured around and bellowed at Virgo, a beam of invisable energry noking her over, making her fall to the groun
"I AM NOT SHAUNUI! I AM NOT PATHETIC! IF HE WANTS ME TO FIGHT! I WILL! I WILL KILL EVERYONE! EVERYTHING! ....I WILL KILL HIM! THEN WE WILL SEE WHO IS PATHETIC"
Unicoco began to flap her shattered wings, but they were beyond use
"Dam you all to hell! Dam everyone! I would rather be cold than have my warmth ripped away!"
She began to fire Snake Bite attacks randomly into the shadows at which Jeff had disapered
"DAM YOU!!!"
After 5 fearful minuites of these fuirous attacks, she fell to the ground, exausted
"I...I am pathestic....I...I need power.....I need to be all powerful, then...then I will show Jeff, I am not pathetic...I will show him....my fury..."
She darted of into the forest, leaving the gamers bemused, she ran for what seemed forever, until she got so far she stopped, and fell to the floor, tears again forming from her eyes
"I...I am weak....you made me weak...love gave me so much power before...now....hate will feed me...."
Her eyes narrowed, and she clenthed her fists
"Just as feeling began to return to me, you take them away....so I will take them back"
