Well, I'm gonna be up late tonight (already am and I haven't even started on tonight's PV update) but I think I've solved out spam bot problem. I found instructions on how to add a custom question to the registration process that must be answered. The question is "Who is the main character in Pebble Version?" Both "Brendan" and "May" are acceptable answers but a wrong answer or no answer prevents registration. I tested it and it seems to work correclty. It should effectively prevent all bots from registering unless someone decides to make a new bot specifically to attack the PV forums (which seems highly unlikely). Live spammers could still get through, of course, (provided they took the time to find the PV cast page) but nothing can toally prevent that.

Erm, sorry for a post on such a -dead- thread and all but I have -2- suggestions for new threads that could also be stickies (So we don't lose them): Here: a 'The New Thread Suggestion thread' thread (I cant seem to find one); and in the Introductions Forum: a 'Post your age, gender, and name!' thread, for the new members (So you can learn that stuff from the other members, adding some info there is not necessary, such as your name if you aren't comfortable with that, but at the very least your age and gender so you don't accidentally call a boy 'she' or vice-versa)

Fear not comrade, for it is totally optional! You can simply post your nick name, such as BFC or NG if you do not want to disclose your age nor gender, I still do say it is a perfectly good idea!

That is quite a fine idea there, but I'd like to have, at the very least, gender mandatory so we are not to offend anyone by calling a male 'she or her' or a female 'he or him'.

No, stating gender should absolutely not be mandatory. Silver happens to like-- Er... Silver happens to know people that prefer to keep their gender secret, or just like confusing people about their gender. If you're not sure, say 'he' because there are no girls on the internet. If they correct you, big deal, you know for next time. If they don't, either you were right or they don't care.

Gender is really an arbitrary discrimination we place on ourselves and certainly isn't an important piece of information to be readily available. Silver really hates that the English language uses sexist pronouns as well... and Silver absolutely can not agree to this idea of stating gender being anything but optional.
