Hey.

Yeah, I came out to them about 4 months ago and it went very well, which was marvelous. There was a bit of awkwardness with my mum for a bit, but after she met and got to talk with my (now ex) girlfriend, she became completely accepting of the whole thing. A friend of mine just got outed to his parents recently... it actually went better than expected, though it's still a bit of a mess. He was very, very concerned about telling them and was even afraid of being disowned, but that hasn't happened, so that's good. He's been together with his boyfriend (our new drum major!) for a year. Best of luck to you, Gar. I've been talking with a lot of people lately about being bi to try and help people better understand. Sharing my own personal experiences with people helps humanize the whole thing for them.
Funfact: My ex was drum major of the band her junior and senior year, so that's two years of a lesbian drum major. Our new drum major is bi. The only person we know of that's running for drum major the following year is bi. I'm planning on running for drum major the year after that. That leads to a potential 5-year reign of LGBTWTFBBQ drum majors of the Big Red Marching Band!
Oh the things the gay band members think about.
Also, speaking of the married club, my cousin is now engaged to her girlfriend! So very happy for her. Don't think Ohio has legalized same-sex marriage yet, though, so dunno what they're planning on doing.
