Hi! Sorry I was gone for a day (more on that in the upcoming PV update).

1. For the DS and Wi-Fi, I'd check the support section of Nintendo's website.

2. About that Wii mod: The Wii can play Japanese games as is, just can't use Japanese Wii points. It probably works if installed correctly but could be pretty tricky to put in. If you were going to rent a game and then "steal" it you'd have to make a complete copy of the disk using a PC and a disc image burning program. Naturally, that's illegal.
Personally, I'd be uneasy about modding a system that has an upgradable OS. I mean, you never know if the next firmware upgrade could break the mod or even break modded systems. Although I suppose you could just never download another firmware update.

The Special Stage has been closed since it didn't get any attention from any other forums other then this one I'm afraid. It will remain closed forever unless I run into a reason to reopen it.

Hi! The final areas of GW Nightfall are a pain in the ass with henchmen. But, with heroes, it's not easy to find real people to play with sometimes.
