New Dawn

With tears going down his face he looked back into Nikka's eyes. With the fear of being alone, Alex reached out and touched her face.

"I missed you my little sister, Katie." With that, Alex blacked out and fell into Nikka's lap, tired.

Nikka blinked slowly, watching Alex closely.
"It'll be alright.." she murmered comfotingly, wiping a stray tear off of his cheek. Absentmindedly, she touched his hair as well, and sighed.
"It'll be alright.." she repeated.

As a bright light came at Alex from all directions, he seemed like he was in peace. But waking up, he saw Nikka on the ground with him. He looked up at the clock and realized he fell asleep for 3 hours. Alex then moved his head and took a hand to move the hair from her lap.

"Sorry." Alex then turned his head to Nikka and thought of something. But he was too tired to even think straight. "The stars are bright tonight aren't they?"

Nikka smiled slightly, happy to see that Alex seemed to be feeling a bit better.
"Yes.. They are.." she said drowsily, laying on her back, and watching them. Nikka began to form patterns out of the stars, her own constelations. She yawned slightly.

"New day comes, yet the old day is just in the minds." Alex stood up and felt something in his leg causing him to hit the ground. He knew that the pain in his leg should have healed by now, but the silver wound needed extra time to heal. He didn't want to tell anyone of this, but he knew someone would.

"I felt dizzy." Alex said with a smile. He smiled never but a few times in the past. When his life was normal.

Nikka nodded quickly, smiling as well. She watched him closely though, for any sign of pain. Then she realized.. she'd never seen him smile. Not once. She smiled a little bit wider at that, and resumed watching the stars, occasionally glancing at Alex.

As he seemed like the day will soon come, the throught came to his mind. He looked at Nikka. "Anything on your mind?"

Nikka glanced up, and shook her head slightly.
"I'm just trying to figure out some things.. Thinking.." she said slowly, sitting up.

The sun started to rise and everyone went inside. Alex fell asleep, but it only lasted a couple of hours. He then moved to the library and started to read his book.

Yet he still felt weak. Heading for Nikka's room, he walked in without a sound and sit in the chair beside the bed.

Nikka had been sleeping restlessly for the past few hours. She thrashed around slightly every few minutes, and mumbled random phrases. Nightmares. Only dreams. But how realistic they seemed...
A moment passed, but she managed to break the dream's hold on her, she sat bolt upright, and stifled a scream. Nikka was breathing heavily, and she could already tell that she was crying, out of fear she thought.
After another few minutes of sobbing, she glanced up. Nikka knew he was there, she realized that when she woke.
"I'm sorry.." she murmered. It was all she could do, it seemed.

Alex wanted to go to her and say that it was ok, but he moved his head up then back down. He knew that any more pain will make him feel useless, but he didn't care. His leg was getting worse, and it felt that his strength was going, and getting worse. Alex also felt dizzy and could bearly walk now.

"Its ok. Pain will never leave us. People we love will die." Alex stood up and headed for the door. He couldn't keep his balance, and slipped. Hitting the floor, Alex let out a scream. Moving his hands to his leg, he held onto it, and a tear went down his check.

Nikka let out a small gasp, and put her problems aside. She untangled herself from the blankets, and sprinted to his side.
"What's wrong..?!" she asked quickly, glancing at his leg.

"Its nothing." Alex said with pain in his voice. He kept on holding onto his leg.

"It's not nothing.." Nikka said, her voice coming out in something like a growl.
She kneeled nearer to the leg that seemed to be paining him, and laid a hand on it. It stung her hand slightly.
"Oh my.. Don't tell me you have.." she murmered, watching his expression slightly.

He didn't want to say, but nothing was going to change the fact. Alex moved the his hands from his leg and removed the cloth around it. The wound was eating away from around the side of the leg close to the foot. There was a cream type mixture over it and looked like it was taking care of the problem. But it would take time to heal, and a lot of rest from Alex. Yet he didn't want to rest, he wanted to do things his way, or feel the pain as it came.

"Like I said its nothing. Just healing up. I got it yesterday, and knew that these things don't need to be any problem for others." He took more of the cream out of his bag he had with him. "Its my own special healer. It works all the time with the silver wound, but takes 2 days to heal. The one thing to make it go faster is to sleep for a day. I've just noticed one side effect, your memories will come out and someone has to stay with you the whole time."

He then started to get up, but fell again. Alex realised that he should have slept more, or felt like sleeping more. That and with the mess that was going to come up, he didn't want to miss it. Feeling hot aready, swet was pouring down his face and around his neck. Yet touching his leg, it felt cold as ice. His face was pale as ever, and his eyes were changing colors from red to purple to green, and back again. Alex then tried to get up again, but his arms were to weak to lift up.

"I think I need some help." But Alex knew that was the very first time he had ask someone for help. He always did things by himself, and didn't want anyones help till now.
