Of Mice and Men wasn't bad, though I ended up reading summaries online. Day before the reading quiz, I borrowed my friend's copy and read half of it during lunch. I'm so bad. :P
Konnichiwa. I'd rather not play you, Blastotoise, 'cause I have no idea how and have no intention of learning.

Should I...oh whatever. /o/

Heso! I have Finished all my summer homework, with five days to spare! It probably would have taken longer if I'd actually read ANY of the books! I just sparknote'd everything and I'll admit it. That's what a few of my friends last year did and got perfect scores on the summer reading stuff, so I say, screw effort! Whatever works!
And so, I shall try to post around here with my remaining few days. A lot. I'm also going to cave and read One Piece manga scanlations. A lot. Because I'm sick of waiting for Usopp to rejoin the crew... Oh? Was that a spoiler? Um, watch out for that one.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Heso!
In news this morning, Kaida got a busted tire on her bike so she had to go fix it, it wasn't really all that fun considering it was her first time changing a tire.
Apart from that she would also like to know why there’s a street near where she workes named ‘Stevenson St.’

Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Taipan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell
That spikes you when you pick it up

Hi! Maybe it would sound good in theory, but in practice no one in Japan knows where anything is. If the fact that adds and buisness cards typically include little maps isn't a give away then maybe the story about how a couple of police men spent twenty minutes poring over detailed maps trying to find an address I'd given them which ended up being right across the street is better proof. Then there's all the other times Japanese people who I've asked for directions or have been taking me places have bee wrong or wondered around in circles for ages (sometimes even with maps and directions).BionicleMandi121 wrote:Really? My teacher seems to think it's better than the American system, since it goes from broad to specific. :/ Ah well.Josiah wrote:Hi! I would like to restate the fact that no one in Japan knows where anything is. Whoever deseigned the address system here was a moron.
In a nutshell:
Most roads don't have names.
Even if there are road names, signs with those names are very rare.
All local maps point in different directions.
At best, the address system can get you to a general area but after that you're stuck wondering around said area until you can find the place you're looking for since the numbering for buildings isn't in any useful order.

Souka? Confusing. @.@
Konbanwa. Training a RO Merchant to job level 50 with a build of INT and DEX is really, really slow going. >< The monsters heal almost all the damage he does. It's irritating. *sigh* Ah well.

well the address system worked just fine for me and my family when we were in japanJosiah wrote:Hi! Maybe it would sound good in theory, but in practice no one in Japan knows where anything is. "Dobby never meant to kill, only to...maim. Or seriously injure."
Hi! It's fine, until you're trying to track down some place that's not big or well known with only the address. Even for the big and well known places, the lack of road names and signs and the different direction pointing maps are still annoying, though still managable.
So, my schedule probably won't totally settle down until late this coming week but it's starting to get there so I'm starting to get back into all my forum stuff. You've probably noticed that I've been back in the Web Comic of the Week Club and Insult Swordfighting for a little while already. Now I'm officially back now in IPA and RP Battles. Now I just need to get caught up on the various game threads and RPs and start my new RP. That should all come within the coming week. At some point in there I'm gonna start going over new member accounts again too.

Ballin! It has been a few days since last I graced PV with my presence, but now I can proudly say that I have beaten Medabots:Rokusho Silver. And boy was it a fun game! I'm glad they still kept the classic Medabots humor in this, otherwise it wouldn't be as enjoyable.
Also if anyone's interested, Hockeyclown inc got hacked a few days ago. Details at 11:00 PM

It was lonely... you promised you'd write to me, but you never did... the months passed by, and I still thought of you every day, but you never called. I never got any letters from you.
So eventually, I started to lose faith... I thought you had been killed in that terrible, terrible war. Or maybe that you had forgotten about me. It's been so long, you probably found another girl over there... I never stopped loving you, but I didn't think you cared about me anymore, so welcoming you back just would have been too painful for me... I'm sorry. I'm glad you've come back home *sniff*
