ROM 3: Shadows of Souls

Shauni looked around, the area had finsihed purifying but there where no people about in the shrine

They headed out, but who should they she but Yomikko in the lobby...she was alive!

"Yomikko!" yelled Shauni as she ran over a huged her
"What are you doing here? I thought you where back in Onett!"
Yomikko looked at her, her heart was heavy
"Whats wrong?"
"Nothing...Its just that I missed you shauni...and I though you were...dead"

"Yomikko?" *Josiah and the others stood back, watching the reunion between Shauni and her friend.* "How the heck did she get here?"

*Just then something caught Virgo's eye. She spun around, staring at the sky outside the castle walls.* "Josiah look!"

*Josiah, David, and Jeff turned and squinted into the distance. There wasn't much to see but occasional flashes of light and color shot into the sky.*

"It looks like someone's fighting."

"Great... And here I thought we could take a rest now that this area was purified." *Josiah sighed. Of course, he hadn't been planning to relax exactly. More like search the palace's store rooms and libraries for something to aid their quest. Still, it would have been a break from the constant battles.* "Ok, David, grab Shauni and Yomikko and search the castle for people, especially Amhal, if he's alive. Jeff, Virgo, and I will find out what's happening outside."

"Got it. Call if you need help."

"Follow me!" *Jeff took the lead.* "I know a shortcut!" *They dashed off into the castle.*

((If you haven't figured it out, that's Silver and Neo's battle that we're going to investigate.))

Shauni yelled after the others "Becarful! exspacialy you jeff!"

Shauni tured her attention back to yomikko

"What are you doing her anyway?"
Yomikko smiled "After you resotred Onett I was retured to normal, but you wanished...I came looking for you, I follwed the areas of light till I got where they stopped...."

Shauni smiled and was about to tell yomikko there tail when David interupted

"Lets start looking shall we? I want to go over to the battle, reading is for book worms"

Yomiiko smiled "Lucky for you I AM a bookworm!"

David did not answe a looked at shauni
"You guys take the libery, I will look for Amel"
Shauni frowned "Fine, be that way"
Shauni and Yomikko headed for the libery, catching up as they went.....
David began to walk the grounds on his own, but it was weid, there was noone around....

*Climbs out of snow* "Wow, that was fun! But really cold. Guess I better try to find Zanther now..."

*Climbs out of Snow* "WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR PROBLEM?!"

"Uh... Tashi, Fireball!"

"AND WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

"Uh... for being an idiot!"

"Ok."

*Climbs out of Snow* "I HAVE YOU NOW!!! FOOLISH MORTALS, YOU SHALL DIE!!!"

"Uh... no we won't?"

"Because I said so."

"Makes sense. So, what am I supposed to do?"

"Go away. FAR away."

"Oh, ok. Bye!" *Goes far away*

Shauni and Yomikko are reading threw many books, but nothing interesting lay within them

Suddenly shauni had a strange feeling, like...like something stuiped had just happed. She put down her copy of 'The facts of Orca', and walked to the window, looking out towards where the others had gone

"So...a part of silver IS still alive..."
She smiled softly
"Good"
Suddenly her thoughs were interupted by the libery door banging open, it was Daivd

"Theres noone...no one in this whole place!"
She tured around, and Yomikko looked at him also
"Maybe they all retreated or something"Shauni looked back out the window
"I dont think so...."
Yomikko suddenly yelled with a start
"I think I have something!"
Shauni walked over to her and was presented with page in an ancient textbook
It started
"The darkest of times will lead us to our salvation....."

"That may be true..." *Josiah's eyes glowed with determination.* "But this is our chance to change them back! Virgo, go for it!"

"Ok!" *Virgo jumped between Josiah and the startled Rustie and NeoZanther.*

"Careful! We don't want to hurt them!"

"Heh." *NeoZanther grinned evily.* "I think you should be worrying more about yourself."

NeoZanther held up his hand and a dark wave was sent out smashing into Virgo sending her flying backwards into a tree. She wasn't knocked out but alittle dazed. She quickly returned to her orginal position.

"Persistant arn't you. But enough of this. We have more ploting to do. So you'll be leaving now." With a flick of his hand the group was sent back to the edge of the light and dark part of the area.

"Come Rustie. We have a plan to drill into that think and empty head of yours."

Shauni was still stairing out of the window as Yomikko read the book

"It says here that only in the darkness will light be found...but it could refer to anything, maybe not even this situation...."

Shauni began to frown, an internal monalog playing in her head

"How can this fake book hold information on all this, if we were in normal orca I would say it was a plot device...but this is a completly random even..."

Just as shauni's thoughts raced she hured voices downstairs

"josiah?"
She leaned out of the window to see the group at the bottum of the palace
"What are you doing there?"
"Long story, you guys get down here, now we go after Loral and hardy"

"Who?"
"Dont worry about it"

"We'd better hurry or we'll lose them." *Josiah sighed as the Shauni, Yomikko, and David joined them. The timing was horrible. There were several important things he needed to check out in the castle which could prove very important. But saving Silver and Neo took priority.*

"Are you talking about Silver and Neo?"

"Yeah. Fortunately, it doesn't look like merging changed their intelligence or personalities much so this could be a lot easier than taking on Shaunicoco."

"Let's hurry then. The sooner we turn them back to normal the better." *Shauni led the way as they ran after Rustie and NeoZanther.*

"Looks like Silver has been acting even weirder since he merged..."

"Are you sure we want him back?" *David muttered, too low for the others to hear.*

"Enough! I'm getting tired of chasing you two. Midnight Wind!" *The large black bird shot through the air and hovered ominously infront of NeoZanther and Rustie, cutting off their retreat.*

"Grr... You think you can stop us?"

"It's worth a try." *Virgo was trying to decide which of her skills, if any, could cancel the merger. It was tricky since she didn't want to hurt Silver or Neo but something had to be done.*

"Silver, Neo, I don't want to fight you! Please, remember who you really are!"

"Well yes. After some time. I just have a plan to carry out. Though defeating him isn't what will happen. He will be gone and when that happens we Shadows will rule over this place and replung it into darkness. I just wonder where the other shadows are. But you are in the way but will be delt with in due time. My now main consern is boosting this things IQ afew points. But you need to be taken care of first. Go Raquza. Data manupliation. Creat a hole for us to travel further from here."

Soon a sort of hole appeared and NeoZanther and Rustie walked through and closed right behind them leaving the group alittle stuned and saddened.

"Now then. You said you're not my slave. That is correct. Tell you what, you follow my orders and once we are done and have the others captured you can go and do what you please. Just stop acting like an idiot. I can have Raquza change that to some degree."

Meanwhile Neo woke up again. He soon remembered where he was. The mental chains still held fast to him. Then he heard the voices of this new friends and he found new strenght and will. But even that didn't help much. The bonds were still tight but he could fell abit of pressure release. "I must get out." he said to himself.

"Not likly. Remember I can read your thoughts. Though luckly you can't hear mine as I've put up some safeguards. Just enjoy your stay. You will be free when I fell it's time. But who can say when that will be..."
