Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'M BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
And boy do I have a lot to tell you. 1) I'm going to Rhodes College instead of UTK this fall! Woohoo! 2) I'm going to Disney World this June for National HOSA to compete in HOSA Bowl with my teammates! 3) I got Pokemon Soul Silver for my 18th birthday! I named myself Citizen, just for laughs. And 3) Check out what I found. http://badwebcomics.wikidot.com/pebble-version Eh...Don't think of it has hating, just think of it as constructive critizism.
And Doodle...I really wish I could help. Really. All I can do is hope that you get out of your depression soon.

Hi! Yeah, I saw that link awhile back. Judging by some of the other pages on that site (some of which are for comics I really like), I look at it more as a mix of constructive criticism and satire (or something along those lines), so it doesn't bother me.
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Well, they kind of have a point. It's really, really long. On the upside, they think you're a cool guy.
A-anyway, I have to register for college orientation...and the deadline is two days away. Well, better late than never.

*hugs Doodle* hand in there, buddy...just don't eat me.
Hey Poik! Long time no see! Er, long time no post? Maybe? Ah, whatever.
I saw that site a while back too. Didn't think much of it, though. People have different opinions of stuff, which I found out when I saw more of the comics I read on there. But yeah, it's sorta like constructive criticism.
It's pretty hot up here too, but I don't know if it's as bad as where Saber is. My siblings were complaining it was too hot, but I thought it was fine.
So I tried McDonalds ice cream for the first time. I didn't even know they had ice cream, but they do. And it only costs a dollar! Ice cream that size around here costs $2.50 at least! I love ice cream.
I don't think I'm going to be eating it any time soon, though. It can't be good for you, and my stomach started acting weird after I ate it, which might validate that. Most likely because I'm not used to their food. Plus I gotta start eating healthier to get back in shape for my job this summer.

Dude, what's up? I'm Giga-Gar, the soon to be college student. You'll like highschool, trust me. You know, except for those upperclassmen who like to beat up the little freshies, especially during freshman friday.
Nah, just kidding, you'll love it.
Also, I found out I won't find out who my roommate is until July 28th. Eh...not a lot of time to get to know who you will be sharing the same room with for the next year.

It was lonely... you promised you'd write to me, but you never did... the months passed by, and I still thought of you every day, but you never called. I never got any letters from you.
So eventually, I started to lose faith... I thought you had been killed in that terrible, terrible war. Or maybe that you had forgotten about me. It's been so long, you probably found another girl over there... I never stopped loving you, but I didn't think you cared about me anymore, so welcoming you back just would have been too painful for me... I'm sorry. I'm glad you've come back home *sniff*

Hihi All!
Well I have a trail tonight (appreantice chef of course) the section I'd be working in is the pastry area. Trial starts at Midnight and goes for about 8-9 hours. Should be fun, I'm gonna do a little revision on acouple things I'm told they do there and they have on the menu, just in case. ^_^ Its at a french restaurant. and actual restaurant, not a cafe. should be an interesting experience even if i don't get the job, as if I do well tonight I'll be doing a week's trail then.

USA is weird. Our high school doesn't start until Grade 9, so I have another year of junior high.
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
The West coast of Canada's weird too, in Ontario we didn't have a middle school. Elementary until grade 8, then high school for 9-12 and the victory-lappers.
Graveyard shift is kicking my rear quite a lot. My sleep schedule's way off, I have to try and sleep when it's light out while every part of my body tells me that's not quite right, and the crazy thing is we don't even get customers from 2:30 until about 6:30 - I mean customers literally can't get to us, the security guards lock up at 2:30 but we're still open for some unknown reason...

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi!
Since I'm tired of being secretive, and in a bit of a ranting mood, that mystery project I'm kinda sorta working on is a book (sorta a text book, sorta not) about story writing for video games. The kinda sorta part is because I don't have a contract yet. See, first the person in charge of acquisitions said she liked my idea and said to fill out a proposal form and make an outline. She liked those, so the proposal was then passed on a some other people (combination of game professors, industry people, and other book authors I think (their identities were hidden from me)) and they had to look over it and fill out a questionairre. I then had to respond to there comments, determine if changes were neccessary and the like. The whole process took way longer than I would have thought plus it got kinda annoying. See, with each review response, the acquisitions lady flagged the answers she thought I needed to repsond to. Thing is, there were a couple similar response that showed up in nearly every review and she kept flagging them each time. I got tired of having to respond to the exact same thing over and over, especially because they were rather minor comments to begin with (things like the types of screen shots and illustrations I'd want to use). Most of the reviewers were pretty positive about the proposal and some had some pretty good ideas, which I incorperated. There were, however, a couple very negative ones, which is to be expected I'm sure. It was the attitude behind them that bugged me as said negative people's opinions mostly seemed to boil down to "I've been doing this for so many years that I know everything and no one can possibly write about this if they haven't been doing it longer than me." Ironically, their suggested additions and improvements often boiled down to things that were either already in the proposal (didn't they read the outline?) or that really didn't fit in that type of book. And, while I was doing all that, I also had to write up a bunch of other things for the acquisitions lady (lists of game schools that might be interested in the book, comparisons of my propsal and other exisiting books, and the like). That wasn't too bad, but it was time consuming and, to a certain extent, left me feeling like I was doing the acquisitions lady's work for her.
So I finally finish all that, she's happy with the propoal, and find out that I need to wait a couple weeks till she's able to pitch it to marketing. She does and said that it went well but that I need to wait a couple more weeks for another meeting before I find out if they'll give me a contract. That meeting was a couple days ago and they decided that, while they liked it, they wanted to get proposal reviews from more professors first. And now I'm back to responding to proposal reviews again. Just got the first one today and, while I've only just started reading it, the guy appears to be very down on my proposal for not including a certain thing. Problem is, that thing is included. About a third of the entire freaking book is devoted to it! Ugh... I should have just stuck to novel writing...
Wow, that's some great management there.NabMaster wrote:I mean customers literally can't get to us, the security guards lock up at 2:30 but we're still open for some unknown reason...

Yeah, I love how our store is supposed to be "setting the example of what Canada's like" but I'm literally the token white guy at work and half the staff speaks very poor Engrish...Josiah wrote:Hi!

Also we're not allowed bringing in books or electronics but everyone does on the graveyard shift (because it really doesn't take 3 people 4 hours to clean one store). I think I'll bring in my PSP tonight and throw a movie on it or something.

...Wow, Josiah. Those people get paid to not read your stuff then tell you their half-a**ed opinion of it? People like that are, they're just the worst. And there's so many jobs like that too. Ugh, they're disgusting. The fact that you've stuck with this so long says a lot.
Don't give up, though, cause that sounds like a pretty cool book. One that I would want to buy

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Actually, the reviewers don't get paid (at least I don't think so). The acquisitions lady does (which makes me wonder if all that research I did on schools and other books wasn't supposed to be part of her job), but that's about it. Anyway I finally got a look at exactly what the reviewers are given to look at before filling out the questionairre. Turns out they aren't given the full outline, which explains the issues with some of the reviewers (like today's) complaining that something wasn't there when it really is. Doesn't excuse the couple of ecomaniac reviewers though, but it certainly removes the annoyance associated with some of the "why are they saying this isn't there when it really is" responses.
