Happy New Year from the past year, Kaida! What's the New Year like so far?

For me, hot and cloudy and I am sunburn't for the first time in over 3 years... I am not used to it.

See we didn't put sunscreen on because we don't have any. and we don't have and because we're hermits and the only time we go outside is to go to work and go shopping.

Man, I was exhausted this time, I could barely stay awake, but I had to see the ball drop for the new decade.

Hey.

Stayed up 'til 3 AM. :D Did any of you folks ever watch The Land Before Time movies? They were cartoons about dinosaurs, and stuff? Well... the 5th one was on this morning at... 2 AM and we found it when channel flipping :P. Me, Tango and the two friends I had over all decided to watch it and make fun of the fact that the characters would suddenly have lighter or darker shadings out of nowhere. We also watched a kids show called Oobi... it's a newer one, I hadn't heard of it 'til then. All of the characters are hand puppets (literally, just hands with two eyeballs attatched to the top). It was... rather amusing, actually :P . I feel like I enjoyed watching it much more than I would have as a young 'un.

Then, later on, after going to bed and getting back up again and such, went to my friend's house for his older sister's birthday party. T'was fun, and I got to see MusicMaker there, always nice

Heso! ...Oobi. My God, Not OOBI... It's not really that new, Saber, it was on Noggin years ago. Melvin used to like it. Ok, ok, I'm sure it wasn't that bad as a kid's show, but it seriously creeped me out. Think about this line from the opening theme:

"He's got a lot to see, he's got a lot to do, and he's always with you..."

Need I say more?

Anyway... I know the Land Before Time. Grew up on those movies. They started to suck later on though. The first one was too depressing, but to this day I'll watch 2-5 and enjoy them. Beyond that, well.. they were just pushing it.

Anyway... had fun with Colly again. Ended up spending two nights in a row at her house. I currently hold the record for the most time any non-family member has ever spent in there, and I'm darn proud of it.

By "newer", I meant it wasn't around when I was a young 'un and would be inclined to watch such shows :P Oh... I didn't see the theme song... but, yes... that is creepy.

I totally agree on your Land Before Time ideas. First one was too sad. 2-5 were good, I might have liked 6... I don't quite remember... 5 was pretty awesome to watch, though

Hmm... couldn't help it, went online... I think I've watched 1-8 and 10 (9 looked unfamilar to me)... geeze, there are quite a bunch. I remember saying "wow, this has just gotten absurd" to 10.

Oobi? I caught a little of that when I was channel surfing once. There were three of the hand things, and they were eating glue...

But yeah, me and my siblings used to watch those movies. It made us believe leaves were appetizing, which subsequently led to us trying to eat "tree stars".

One of my sisters absolutely loved the Land Before Time movies. I cannot tell you how many times I heard her sing "The Lone Dinosaur". One of my brothers was a dinosaur fanatic (and I mean huge, he would watch the documentary Walking With Dinosaurs), so it was big for him too. The one with Chomper is the most vivid in my mind, as my brothers would always want to watch it due to said character.

So I tried to get back to a regular sleeping schedule this morning. I managed to wake up at 7:30 or so. Still late, but closer.

The Land Before Time? I grew up on those too! I remember seeing the first 4 I think it was, but that was years and years ago... wow, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time now.

Anyways, I'm back from my trip to Seattle! It went relatively well, but strangely enough I enjoyed hanging out with my friend's grandma more than my friend herself. She gave me a caramel recipe I'm holding onto, it's incredible! My friend was ... disappointing to say the least, but at least I met her. First face-to-face meeting of an online friend, it was really strange for me.

Happy new year everyone! Guess I'm a little late, but with the way hotel internet access is here... Oh well, at least this hotel has a pretty good internet deal. Except for the fact that the rest of my family was using it until late so I can't stay on long if I want to get a decent amount of sleep tonight. That and the IP address for this hotel was banned by a site I frequently visit do to spamming so I can't get on there. I really miss my good old home network complete with fast cable connection... Anyway, glad to hear that everyone had fun.

I saw the first Land Before Time as a kid (I used to be a huge dinosaur fan). I remember it being pretty sad. As for the newer ones...I saw one of them once cause I was staying in a house, they had a video of it, and there was nothing else to watch but that was a long time ago and I can't really remember the details.

So, I finished Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, need to play the others, been looking for an excuse to get a PlayStation, AND I have Christmas money to spend... 's looking like I'm gonna look into either getting a PS2 or a PS3. I'm not sure which I want... Haven't really looked at prices, yet.

I can't think of any PS3 games that I want... and there are plenty of good titles for the PS2 that I want that should now be significantly cheaper. PS3 has blu-ray... but we just got a blu-ray player for Christmas. That also makes the PS2 useless as a DVD player, because our upstairs DVD player just got demoted to downstairs, where our gaming systesm are (which is quite disappointing, as we have a really nice HD widescreen TV upstairs, but my parents won't let me use it for video games... sigh... got to use it a couple times for Rock Band when we had friends over since there's more room upstairs), so... yeah... don't really need another DVD player... and we have a blu-ray one upstairs, not gonna watch blu-ray on our downstairs TV. So... don't care about that bit. Games-wise, I only care about the PS2 currently, but... maybe for the future? I can always buy one later if necessary...

So... if anyone's got any input, that'd be nice. Should look into prices...

Hi! I'm heading back to the US tomorrow so I won't be able to get online for a while. On the bright side though, I'll have full internet access once I'm back so, be the end of the weekend at the latest, I should be caught up on all forum stuff.

Saber... If you can track down a 60 launch model PS3 (probably on ebay) for a decent price, that'd be your best option since it has full PS2 backwards compatibility and you get all the PS3 stuff (and there are some great games). On the other hand, if you can't, get a PS2 for now since it's got more great games and they're cheaper.

This semester's gonna be sweet! Turns out the philosophy class I'm taking is all about how to properly argue, my psychology teacher is amazingly eccentric, and we got snow again yesterday ^^ The only thing bringing me down is organic chemistry, but hopefully I'll do well on it so I never have to take it again!
