KOTF 2008: Bonus Challenge 4

Post by Josiah »

It's time for the final bonus challenge. Which will hopefully prove more popular than the last two...

Your goal, make a Pebble Version guest comic. All art styles, layouts, etc, are fine. Just keep it PG and make sure it's somehow related to PV. Entries must be posted here before the end of KOTF (midnight Sunday, US MST time). The prizes for first, second, and third are 40, 30, and 20 points. As usual, winners will be chosen by me based solely on what I happen to like the best. Good luck!

Allright, here goes my shot... quality isn't the best, but I did it in paint,

Oh, and Brendan is saying stuff first at every single panel. I had no idea how to indicate that on the comic itself

I'm in the process of making one, but it's a big one, and I'm not to sure if I can send it in by Sunday.

Sims: I'll allow entries on Sunday as well if neccessary since that's the last KOTF day. If you don't get it done by then, I'm always happy to get guest comics (and might actually be interspersing a few of my spare guest comics with normal PV updates during the last couple weeks before I go back to the US) but, unfortunately, you won't have a chance to win KOTF points for it.

Voltaggia: Thanks for the entry! Like the GW reference. :-) Couple pieces of advice for the future though. 1. Sprites blur when saved as jpgs so sprite comics are best done as gif or png files. 2. In general, it's easier to follow a conversation if whatever gets said first is on top (regardless of the position of the person speaking).

I, uh, have a question. What counts as a guest comic? I wanted to enter one, but it...doesn't have any panels or anything. It's just one big image. So would that be fanart instead? I did put dialogue into it...

Nah, it's definetly not going to be in by the end of Sunday. I could try to rush it, but that would drop the whole quality of it all by a several points. Shame too. It's going really well.

I'm allowing entries today as well but this is the last day (though if you ever just want to give me a guest comic for the heck of it some other time, that's awalys cool).

To answer Mandi's question, one panel can still be a comic. Go ahead and enter it if you want.

Erm, in case my comic will be the only one submitted...

Could you extend the deadline for like two to three days? It would be nice to give people who have great ideas (like Sims) but don't really have time to do the comic to polish it off a chance. My comic isn't that great, and I'd really like to see a great comic win the prize.

Don't worry, Voltaggia... yours won't be the only one submitted... because it's time for Silver's Two-Second Crappy Contest Entry Comic! (TM)

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Bleagh, I won't be able to make it either. Who knew drawing in Photoshop with a laptop mousepad was so hard. - -
Plus I was kinda busy today. ><
I'll probably draw it out on paper, color it, scan it in, and send it in as a normal guest comic anyway. :/

If KOTF wasn't over, I'd extend the deadline to help people out but, since this KOTF just ended and all, this challenge needs to end so I can figure out everyone's final scores.

And the winner of this challenge is... Silver! And Voltaggia gets second.
