I've found a few new comics lately so I had a hard time deciding which one to use but I finally settled on...
Spinnerette an episodic super hero comic. It's kinda humerous though there's a good bit of action too. Overall, it's just fun and there's some pretty creative heroes and villains like Ann of Green Gables (a cross dressing guy) and The Werewolf of London, Ontario. It's a fairly new comic, so there's only several "issues" so far but it's off to a good start.
Plot: Heather is a grad student and a bit of clutz. A rather cliche lab accident ends with her getting infused with spider DNA, allowing her to fulfill her life long dream of becoming a super hero. But, with six arms and a web shooter at the base of her spine, she's a lot more spider than Spiderman. She teams up with local hero duo Tiger and Mecha Maid to fight crime and all that stuff.
Art: Black and white, more manga than American comic style, and really well done.
Things to Know: The whole thing is pretty episodic (like most super hero stories) though you've got a bit of larger plot starting to build up with Dr. Universe (the major villain).
Favorite Strips: Can't find them right now since internet at this hotel is kind of slow, but there's a lot of good ones involving The League of Candian Heroes.

although it is new, and "manga" , i find it to actually be quite good, i give it a thumb up.

Re: Spinnerette
I liked this comic quite a lot actually. The art is fantastic, although bits of it are a bit fan-service-y. Some of the jokes are obvious, but that can be said of most comics. I do like the spidy-sense running joke, even if it is kind of stupid. The author is obviously a hard-core nerd (and you really should be able to find your own examples for that, they're pretty much everywhere). And if I keep posting links like this I'm going to start adding tropes to all of them, instead of just one of them randomly (clicker beware >:3 ), and get lost in TV Tropes again... Darn it, I'm thinking of all the tropes I can add now.
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

Re: Spinnerette
Just finished the archive. I really enjoyed this comic's take on superhero-ism... it's rather unusual, and definitely interesting. The art is great, though it is indeed fan-service-y at times. I've really enjoyed this comic so far, and I'm definitely going to continue reading it.
May the Triforce be with you.
