Brat-Halla
Okay, the comic I picked for the week is Brat-halla. If you don't get get the pun, shame upon thee.
If you couldn't figure it out from the title (shame on thee), it's a comic about Norse Mythology. And, as the title also implies, it's about kids--so, we take Thor, Loki, Balder, etc. and make them kids... and then we get the amusing adventures of this comic. I'm a huge fan of Norse mythology, sooo... yeah :P
Art gets better as you go on, and, after the beginning, pretty much everything is in full color.
There are a few kind of innapropriate references here and there, but it's not that bad compared to some of the other comics that have been up.
Near the beginning is mainly just a bunch of one shots, but, as you go on, there are larger arcs, such as the Pantheon games where we get to see a little of the other pantheons. Yaaaay mythology~
An interesting new character is Odineye, Odin's vengeful eyeball that was rather irritated when it was thrown into the well so that Odin might gain wisdom. And, there are twists on traditional characters in Norse mythology, such as the rock star Fenrir[url].
And, just a [url=http://brat-halla.com/comic/96-skuul-intimidation-factor/]few favorite comics.
And, I think that's it, yo. Awesomes!

Re: Brat-Halla
I've actually read this before I graduated and my favorite arc was the batman parody with the goats.
This is my RP Forum, Tales of Symphonia Adventures, or ToSA for short. Please take a look?

Re: Brat-Halla
I remember reading this comic. I stopped at the end of the Twilight of the Hod arc, though. Don't know why.
(Oh, wait, now that I think about it it was somewhere in the replacement dad arc.)
I love how it messes with the gods' personalities. And then there's whole insane family thing complicated by the fact that all the members of said family have inhuman abilities. This comic is the reason that I know the names of the Norse gods
.

(Am I allowed to post in the Web Comic thread?)
I seemed to like it. Since I happen to be a little knowledgeable of the superhero Thor. Only a little more humorous at some points. hehe.

I'll comment on the comic itself after I read a little further. In response to White_Samurai though... If you want to post about comics here you should technically join the club first. Which is pretty easy to do. Just make a post in the rules and discussion thread saying that you want to join. Rules for the club are in the first post of that thread.
Re: Brat-Halla
I finally made it through all the archives (took me a while since I've been busy). I've liked Norse mythology for a while so it's cool to see a comic basic on it. And the comic itself is pretty good too. Nice art, solid writing, generally amusing throughout... It's a rather strange take on the mythology, for sure, and some of the characters aren't quite right (Loki as a more or less good guy?), but it was a fun read and I'll be keeping up with it in the future. My favorite part, by the way, is the first Pantheon Games arc.

Re: Brat-Halla
Yeah, Loki is a bad guy, just like Hades was good. No one understands that these days.
I like the comic, not that I've quite finished it. When I do... It'll be someone else's week, I'm sure. Edit: I'm crazy.

Re: Brat-Halla
Hades was mostly a "good" guy, true (aside from kidnapping Persephone and all). At least as good as any of the Greek gods were. But Loki? He was the one who triggered Ragnarok and all...

Re: Brat-Halla
Hah, I figure you'd bring that up. He (EDIT: Pluto/Hades) didn't know better, he pretty much never had god or human interaction, seeing as he's a hermit in the underworld (spirits are not too interesting after they pass through the Lethe). That's no excuse, but it's more of a child's mistake than a purposeful wrong-doing. Wrong topic for this.
I definitely prefer the arcs where they are young over the side arcs in the future.

I seem to recall it being more intentional, but I'll admit that it's been a few years since I seriously studied Norse mythology so I might be misremembering. But yeah, we're getting off topic.
