Alright, my comic for this lovely new week will be Stuff of Legend. It's a Pokemon comic, but it's not the usual "travel the world, defeat all of the gyms" thing.

The two main characters are Matt and Sandy Gano. Sandy, as explained in the first few pages, is the former Pokemon Champion. Matt comes to challenge her, but she wants nothing to do with battling trainers anymore. After an encounter with the Pokemon Fan Club, however, Matt decides to join Sandy in her travels.

The art starts off alright, but definatly gets better as you go along.

Awesome comic. The art is wonderful, the story is amazing and the person making it is experienced. I just mastered drawing a hug yesterday. but Wow!

Woah. This one was cool. And I'm not just saying that because I got to watch a Swellow get completely destroyed. I really enjoyed it otherwise.

The art was pretty impressive... full color and with backgrounds all the way through. There were some notable anatomic errors, but they weren't terrible... Except for that Sentret. I read the comments, I know it's intentionally different anatomically, but that thing does look terrible.

For what we've seen of them, though, I really do like the characters. Nile is pretty much the coolest thing ever. Matt kind of annoyed me at first, just because he was that stupid, but he's grown on me. And that says something, considering the comic really isn't that long yet and we spent a lot of that time with Sub...

I've see this comic before, its a great new perspective at an old idea. I just love how she draws that Blaziken!

One thing I didn't understand though was how Matt thought he could beat a Steelex with a tortodile. Sandy's going to have her hands full with him.

My favorite strip has got to be this one.

Yeah. The anatomy is strange. The sentret is the most obviously changed (and I agree, the worst) but almost all of the Pokémon are anthropomorphized. Even more than their original forms were at least.
But yeah. I was impressed. This is a unique and good for as much as is written. As for the supposed blood, the original manga had it too, so it was closer to the actual original world of Pokémon.

I haven't had much time for web comics this week so I only just started reading and I'm not too far yet. But it's been pretty good so far. The art is a little weird in spots but otherwise not bad and it's a nice change from a lot of the pokémon web comics out there (most of which seem to do little more than rip off PV or PX). So I'll keep reading when I have time. Maybe I'll even drop the author an e-mail sometime and see if she wants to do a link exchange.
