ROM 4: New Horizons

Shauni was aware of Josiah's arrival on the scene but charged towards the lizard again, also ignoring Opal
"if you know what good for you, you will all stay out of this!" she barked at her friends
"This is MY BATTLE!"
She ran forward, dodging claw, then teeth then tail. She finaly came to his under belly and jumped up, using a blast of her wings for a boost.
She plunged the daggers into his flesh, and a river of acid exploided from the contents, covering her.

It seemed she has been consumed but the acid, but as it cleared, mirage floated next to Shauni, using a barrier to cover them both.
Protoption jumped away from shauni.

During the river of acid, Shauni's eyes had returned to white, and an instinct of survial had returned to her, and she had summoned the monster.

Shauni quickly yelled over to Opal and Josiah
"Sorry i was a jerkk....I don't suppose you could help me??"
With that she fell to the ground, her masked pain finally known to her consius mind.
"SHAUNI!"

Opal got up, knowing she had to totally weaken Protoption by its true weakness.
"Pyro's Head, I summon you!" She sent out her floating head/hands pyro. "Use Blast of Fire!" She ordered as Pyro's Head ingulfed Proption's left foot.

Protoption took his attention away from Shauni and looked at Opal, giving a roar.
"So Opal, you remember. After all these years..." He whipped his foot in dirt, then looked back at Shauni, then Josiah and Virgo.
"So many people, so little time to destroy them all...Acid Oracle!" And Oracle appeared between its' two paws of acid and shot it right at Josiah and Virgo.

"Watch out, and use fire and wind attacks!"Opal yelled as Proptoption clamped her in his tail.

"You just don't know when to keep your mouth close." Protoption growled as he clamped harder on her body.

"What the-?! What's he doing here?!" Silver demanded, finally noticing Protoption from the other side of the battlefield. "Tashi, Arco! Come on, we've gotta help her! Everyone else, keep working on the army!" Silver shouted down to his monsters, still on Manja's back. The others continued to fight the massive army of lizards, but Tashi and Arco Iris took off after Silver and Manja. High above Protoption and all his foes, the three flying monsters stopped to discuss the plan of attack. "Tashi, use Spreading Fire. That'll keep him on his toes. Arco, get in front of him and use Colors of the Wind... but you've got to be ready to get out of the way at all times. One attack from this guy and you won't be battling for a long, long time..." Silver told the two monsters, who flew down to do their respective jobs. Manja snuck down behind Protoption, who seemed to be distracted by Shauni and the others for the moment. Manja wasn't one to be taken lightly, either; hopefully they'd at least be able to get Opal out of there...

Ibun saw Shauni fall, and made his way over there, helping Mirage get the split-minded girl out of harm's way.

Jeff cursed under his breath. Out of ammo. Unaware of what just happened to Shauni, Jeff glanced around quickly for some sort of weapon. 

A metal lizard attacked Jeff, only to have the general dodge out of the way, causing the beast to crash into a pile of rubbish. This knocked loose a three-foot long rod of iron in the process.

Jeff picked up the rod. It would have to do until he found more bullets...

*Hell Fire had been KO'd by Omega Crash so fire was out of the question but Josiah still had Mythril Dragon so wind it was.* "Virgo," *he called as they dodged the acid,* "stay back and use your support skills. I'm going in."

"Of course. Divine Gift!" *She cast the attack and defense boost on Josiah as he sped off on Mythril Dragon's back.*

*Josiah noticed Silver sneaking up from behind. As long as Protoption didn't see him Manja was in a position to do some heavy damage.* "We need to get his attention Myhtril Dragon. Attack with Wind Tunnel!"

Opal was let go of the tail as the many attacks swarmed Protoption.
"Yes, attack him! Show him no mercy!" She cried, picking herself off the ground. Watching the beast that she made, she created, get attack seemed to be giving her weird feelings.

Proption was over whelmed by everyone attacking him.
"Seems that I've drawn a crowd. Where's team Swank and my needles when I need it?" He mumbled, and bit his lip as the fire and wind attacks hit him. "I have to do something..." He shot acid at Jeff, used his claws at Josiah, and tried to attack Silver with his tail. Talk about multitasking.

Opal got up and finally found Celebifly.
"There you are." She smiled, hugging her creature. "GO back into your card." She smiled, returning Celebifly.
"Now, Pyro's Head, use Blast of Fire again!" She ordered.

(Protoption came from an evil team called Team Swank. Later on the also became team Smorph, but then went back to Swank. Opal's sister was the leader of Swank {Dawn} until Opal killed her. Now the leadership was left to Opal's Aunt Ruby and her sidekick Scar.
Protoption also used needles to take control of Darky since during that time she was 'dating' Minum. And he was possesing Opal. Took all summer to take him down.)

"This is getting tiering." complained Neo under his breath. Hot Wire and Raquezez had been KO'ed too. It just left him with Fenix, Queen Ice Bird, Metalorph and Kuiia. Loseing 2 of his favorte monsters only made him more angrey. And his rage was only making his arua darker. On top of that, only Mystical Shining Ball was left for Tsuekasa.

"THIS ENDS NOW LIZARD ARMY!" for Neo's arua had darkened fully. "I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL." Neo yelled at David, Jeff, Tusekasa and everyone else not near Protoption to clear out behind him.

"Metalmorph transform into Total Defence Valca and use Reverse Barrior!" Metalmorph abit confused with the choice of monsters and attack obayed. "Fenix use Overheat-cancel and then use Apocalypse!" Fenix's flames sweaped over part of the army damageing it and then gathering strengh formed a ball of fire infrount of it and sent it down. The reverse barrior seemed to have gotten about 70% of the army contained. No hope in sight. The attack struck and exploded but was just bairly being contained. The smoke and flames cleared and a shallow crater was left and only afew survivers among the group. There were still part of the army left to deal with.

Then Neo charged after them, weapons drawn. "Metalmorph Iron Coating onto my weapons, we are going hunting." Metalmorph obayed and Neo soon arrived at the remaining army and seemed to be attacking with a blind, unstopable rage and strenght that he didn't even realized he had.

((Hum, more arua stuff. Intresting :) ))

Shauni's eyes where glowing a ghostly white as she watched the destruction go on around her.
Mirage was doing everything she could to shield shauni from miscellaneous attacks that where coming her way as she sat, unmoving on the ground.
Her heart wrenched as she realised she had actually drawn the cursed daggers. She thrust them back into the holsters and quickly placed seals back over them.

From another set of Holsters from her back she drew her Holy Daggers
"I will fight with blessed blade, not cursed sword."
She quickly threw Pyrogothica's card into the air
"If fire is its weakness then fights fight with fire!" she yelled, as she jumped on the griffins back.
Mirage followed suit and jumped on as well
"Mirage, you defend us with this barrier, Pyrogothica, hit it with the biggest blast of fire you got"
The griffin flew in to the air and began firing wave after wave of fiery feathers as Mirage blacked possible counter attacks.

The Guardian nodded and only kept his watch.

"Guardian Father... Can't you help them?"

"If I only could, Mahri..."

The little girl only moved her toys around then looked at her protector. "They are in harm's way."

"The most I can do is appeal to the powers-that-be, Mahri... For now..."

Jeff bashed in the head of another lizard with the iron rod and used the fallen form of his opponent to bowl over more.

Why all this fighting? I'm so tired of all of this... Jeff thought quietly, It feels like yesterday that I was actually enjoying being a hero, but now...

"JEFF! LOOK OUT!"

"GUH!?"

Shauni came from behind and sliced apart one of the lizards that had sneaked up on the young general.

Jeff was a little speechless, but managed to nod his thanks.

Shauni only mouthed 'you're welcome' before another wave of steel reptiles separated the two in chaos.

Jeff then bumped into Ibun, and the anthro-feline was carrying a satchel filled with handgun cartridges.

"Thanks, Ibun." Jeff spoke as he ducked behind a barrel to reload his gun.

"Don't mention it.... HERE COMES MORE!" And Ibun leaped off into battle again. 

Jeff strapped the satchel onto his back and came out firing off slugs... but he still had the iron rod in hand. He had a feeling he might need it again.

"It seems the appeal has been heard..." the Guardian whispered.

Mahri just smiled and kept playing with her toys.

She jumped of Pyrogthica and landed within a legion of lizards
"You to go and attack the large general, I'll take care of the underlings"
Mirage and Pyrogothica hesitated but shauni nodded and they flew of
"Ok suckers, whose ready for some clobbering!" she yelled, she began to attack the legion of lizards with her daggers, all by herself.

"Damn this guy is persistant..." *Josiah dodged away from Proption's attacks.* "It's time to end this! Mythril Dragon, merge with me and for Wind Supreme!!!" *The transformation was complete an instant later.* "I only have enough energy for one attack, better make it count. Let's end this!" *He called to the others. Then, turning to Proption,* "This is the end! Shredding Twister!!!"

"Everyone, combine attacks!" *Virgo yelled as she reentered the battle.* "Mecha Overdrive!!!"

(Protoption always puts up a good fight ^^)

As the attacks inflamed Protopion, he yelled in pain. He sent out more attacks, but there was too many teaming up so his power was going down. Even after regenerating.
He took in a deep breath, sweating acid like a waterfall.
"I may be going down, but I can at least take down one of you!" He shifted around to face Opal. "You!" He roared, using his blades to rip through Pyro's Head. 

"Meep!" Opal shuttered as Pyro's Head was sent back to his card. "Protoption, please!" She yelled, but Protoption already lunged at her. Closing her eyes, she pulled out her last card....

Protoption stopped in mid air as Steel Shell was let out.
"Huh? my...teenage form..." He mumbled, staring at the creature.

"Tashi, Spreading Fire!" Silver ordered, using the attack while Protoption was caught off guard.

Protoption's eyes widen, getting hit hard.
"At least I'm not getting eating to death." He mumbled, collasping to the ground.

Opal opened an eye to see Steel Shell sitting infront of here, an inch away from Protoption's nose blade. Letting out a sigh, Protoption twitched, then stopped. Steel Shell and Protoption then glowed, getting sent back to the card.
"Huh? Opal looked at Steel Shell's card as it turned into Protoption. "Ok, that was weird..." She blinked, putting the card away.

Slowly, without Protoption, the lizard army grew weak and was basically like shreading tinfoil with a blade.

((Well, um, if you'll notice Spreading Fire's description, it just sets the battle field on fire... and it was already in effect, so using it again wouldn't really do any good, but whatever.))

Silver jumped off Manja's back, and the dragon went back to join the other monsters is wiping out the remainder of the lizard army. Without Protoption there, the reptiles just seemed to give up and Manja easily obliterated at least half of the creatures still standing. Tashi and Arco Iris stayed by Silver, though, since they didn't seem to be needed any more. "All right, Opal, two questions. One, are you ok? And two, what the fudge crackers was he doing here?!"

(Sorry, my bad. my dad was pushing me off and I had to rush it :/)

Opal was dazed while Silver asked her the questions.
"Huh? Oh. I'm fine." She smiled. "And I think he said that HellFire coded him into Orca." She looked at his card. "Should I call him out?" She teased. "But yeah, unless he starts making cookies, we have nothing to worry about. I remember when Opal caught him in the Angara region, he was obidiant, but Darky still didn't trust him, so I think he'll be ok. Unless he isn't, then I have to watch out for him and Lopa. Yeesh." She sighed.
