That's kinda vague. Specifically, it's vegetables and/or seafood that's deep fried in a certain manner.

konnichiwa: hello

and Josiah, it's a bit easy for you to say, I've only been to Japan once for 3 days.

((You don't need to go to Japan to know that. I mean, you can get tempura at any decent Japanese restaurant. Sorry if you don't like the corrections. I just want to make sure that everyone understands the full meaning of the words in this thread. Not that I never make mistakes in this thread (there's been a couple times), but I don't mind being corrected when that happens.))

((Specifically, konnichiwa is "good afternoon", BTW. So it's not appropriate to use in the morning, evening, or night time.))

ohaio / ohaio gozaimasu: good morning (just ohaio is casual, ohaio gozaimasu is more polite)

konbanwa: good evening

Speciffically, teriyaki is a type of Japanese sauce often used in dishses such as teriyaki chicken (chicken cooked in teriyaki sauce) and yakitori (chicken skewers dipped in teriyaki and grilled).
