Making friends is another issue... that's not easy around here. Join a club or activity group HA!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
You don't know this city.
*sigh* looks like I'll be a socially stunted hermit for the rest of my life...
Thanks for the tips everyone, it's really strange how everyone I know gave me almost the exact same advice...on an up note, a very dear friend of mine married her boyfriend of a year n a half in august (she's been off msn for a while, turns out that's the reason)! Celebrations galore!

I know the city, and that's why you should move here. So much better then where you are. So many more... interesting guys...
And Nab, I say pretty much the same as Josiah, people show up when you least expect them. My boyfriend did. (Which caused a rather large moral dilemma for me, because I already had a boyfriend at the time...) I met him at a yugioh tournament, so don't count out nerd gatherings. (Nerd Gathering; 1, A event in which nerds gather for some reason. exg, Yu-Gi-oh Trading Card Tournament.) We've started calling them nerd gatherings because trying to explain yu-gi-oh to someone who asks us where we met is annoying because they've generally never heard of it.
Redback, Funnel-Web, Blue-ringed octopus
Taipan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell
That spikes you when you pick it up
Even if you live in a lousy spot, you can meet people other ways. A good friend of mine met his wife on the internet (not on a dating site either).
I agree with Silver that many people start dating way too early. Personally, I'd consider anything before highschool too early (and I'd only say highschool is the earliest decent starting point, not the point where you've got to start). As he mentioned, it seems we mostly have the media to blame. I mean really, what's the point? The real reason for a relationship like that is supposedly getting to know someone better that you think you might later want to marry. But Hollywood has turned dating into either a social thing that everyone has to do or be termed a loser or something that's just about the physical relationship (namely the s word).
To be perfectly honest, I've never dated either. But not for the same reason as Silver. As I said above, I think dating does have a point (though not what a lot of people seem to think the point is). Thing is, I've got two very important criteria when choosing someone I'd want to date. First off is religion, it's very important to me so I wouldn't want to get into that kind of relationship with someone who doesn't share my beliefs. Second, I'd want a girl who shares at least some of my main interests. I mean, I want to become a professional fantasy writer and game designer so I can't really get serious about a girl who dislikes fantasy or gaming now can I? So far I've met very few girls anywhere near my age who match those criteria and as of yet I'm just friends with the couple I know who do kinda fit. And I'm ok with that. Would I like to have a girlfriend? I guess so. But I don't mind not having one right now. I'm sure that sooner or later I'll meet the right person or develop something deeper with someone I already know. I'm in no hurry. I mean, dating takes a lot of time and money and all that so I might as well enjoy being able to spend those on myself while I can.

I'm not really in too much of a hurry to start dating either, really just wanting to meet new people... and if one happens to be an amazing guy then bonus!
Also, religion doesn't necissarily impact negatively on a relationship. My Grandma is a Jehovah's Witness. My Grandpa is an Athiest. They are one of the happiest couples I know. Grandpa lets Grandma have her beliefs, go to church and whatnot and Grandma's friends don't preach to Grandpa. It's amazing. I mean on paper it shouldn't work, but it really does! It's lovely to see^^

That's the same thing with my family, except I've got an Anglican Grandma. They used to joke about that all the time.
So I suppose I'll be taking everyone's advice, and start waiting instead of looking. Thanks folks.
While there are exceptions, generally mixing two very different religions doesn't work, at least if either party is very serious about their religion. If they're rather apathetic (like Astral's grandfather from the sound of it), it's probably not such a big deal. And seeing as my religion involves a lot of lifestyle issues, it's an even bigger deal. It's much more for me than just going to services for an hour or two a week and praying once in a while. Like Shadowman kinda brought up, there's certain things I can't eat. There's also things I can't do on Saturdays and the various holidays, and assorted other laws. And, while I don't mind having friends with different religions, I can't imagine marrying someone who didn't believe in God, the Bible, and the Torah (old testament laws, which most Christians (and a lot of Jews for that matter) say are no longer valid). Especially if I ever have kids. Couldn't really expect them to take religion seriously if both parents are teaching them opposing views...
On a completely different note, I'm rather annoyed that the teachers in my Research class won't allow the use of Wikipedia (or even encyclapedies in general) as sources for any class projects. For both accuracy reasons (for Wiki, not regular ones) and the fact that they're just general knowledge bodies, not detailed scientific resources. I mean, I could see that for some subjects. I wouldn't use Wikipedia as a source for quantom physics paper or anything but what's so horrible about referencing it just for some release dates and sales data? Now I'm gonna have to try and find several equivalent sources to replace the Wiki stuff I was planning on using. And I'm probably not going to be able to find all the info I need in one place so I might end up having to track down even more sources then before...
Well, Wiki lists the sources it uses most of the time, so that's a pretty good start. Is that literally the wording Stevenson used Silver? Because I'm going to have to kill him if it was.
That aside, what spark? Since then I've made a rebound. Though it's still a touchy subject.
An explanation of early dating I was given was to learn the procedure (bad word for it I know) so that when you do meet the right person, you don't mess it up.

I have been P.O.ed ever scince Toonami ended. I mean, Tom looked great before the final update, I'm angry, and nothing can ever replace Toonami. Toonami showed the most anime, like Ryu Kenshin, Hack, and a lot more. Good Job CN, for ramming my childhood up my ass.
Kisori! I know your mad, but that is no way to speak! I don't want you talking to those people on SWG anymore, you hear me! They're a bad influence, only the idiots will like you if you talk like that.

wow, I rant and I get ranted on, oh, and for your information Gar, you're just making me even angrier, and... I'm going to be quiet for now unless I get annoyed again, for the sake of both me and the person who may annoy me.
