It was my brother's birthday yesterday. He walked into my room in the middle of the night and yelled, "WHERE'S MY PRESENT?"

I have strep throat, it's pretty nasty. I can't go to school for a week, though. =)

[quote="Celebifly"]Colleges are hard to get into? Wow, I applied to 4...hope I can get into 1!quote]

I don't know if they're hard to get in to, honestly. But my mom has a serious impression that they're harder to get in to than Fort Knox. So I have to work really hard.

Even if they aren't hard to get into (like community colleges), college is one of the most important things you do since it pretty much defines what you can do in the future. Although, I guess you can go back at any time, but it's easier to go to a good college early on. Then you can become a millionaire and party for the rest of your life. (if only it were that easy)

Oi. What's an "enimy"? Sounds painful.

Actually, I can't wait for college. Looks fun, aside from all the school work.

Oh, and Fort Knox wasn't too hard to get into... Don't ask how I know.
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

Yo! As soon as Brawl comes out, we can have a tournament or something! Meanwhile, I'm going to continue to moan about crappy Canadian weather some more because it makes me feel better about it.

WHY IS IT ALWAYS TO HOT IN THE SUMMER AND TOO FRIGGIN' COLD IN THE WINTER?!?!?
...
Okay, I'm done now.

Hi! I'd be totally up for a Brawl tournament but we've got a while to wait.

Now, having actually already attended college and all that, he's my thoughts. Some colleges are very hard to get into, most are not (provided your test scores are at least average).
Some colleges are a lot of fun and really interesting...others are not. To some extent this goes on a class by class basis but the overall style of the school has something to do with it as well. How much you enjoy college really depends on a combination of your teachers, the other students, and the general atmosphere. For example, when I was going to my local college I thought the whole thing was pretty boring and a bit of a waste of time. Then I transfered to UAT and I loved it. Might even go back for a Masters...
As for the importance of college, it's a little overstated. Although the importance really depends on what profession you want to go into. In general though, you're gonna learn a lot of completely useless information (much of which you'll forget shortly after the test). Hopefully you'll also learn a lot about whatever it is you want to do as a career but that really depends.
I will say that your college degree, grades, etc will often (but not always) be a big asset when searching for your first job. However, from what I've heard, what people really care about is your past industry experience so once you've had one job in your field, it's your work history that makes all the difference, not your college record.

The fact that Dedede is a character makes me want to own everyone with him so much. Not that I would win, though...

My manager took a masters in aerodynamics, found out he hated it, and kept in it. Apparently it wasn't the fact that he got a masters that landed him a managerial position, but that he kept in the course up to the end that did it for him. So remember, a couple thousand bucks a year is a huge price tag to put to waste, so put a LOT of thought into it.

I showed my sister Dedede and she called dibs on him because he has a rocket hammer...I fear for my safety now.

Also, my computer is finally up and running (one problem after another, and this things not even a year old yet!) but my video card fried somehow, so I'm working on a 6100 which means no video gaming for me

I doubt that you'll go far by doing collages...

Hi! Shadowman has a point Kisori, you'd probably be better off going to a college than a collage...
But, speaking of game and all colleges... There are many excellent art schools, some being full colleges and others offering a shorter more specialized program that focuses almost entirely on various types of art.
As for colleges that teach game design, being a Game Design major myself I should warn you that most of the schools that have game design degrees really have no clue what they're doing, it's basically something they just taked on to try and boost enrollment. If you're in the US, the two best schools are probably:
1. Digipen in Washington state. Really good school (quite possibly the best in what it teaches) if you want to do game programming or modeling BUT not a real college so you don't get a degree, also they work you something like 12 hours a day six days a week.
2. UAT (University of Advancing Technology) in Tempe Arizona. This is where I went. Great teachers, great atmosphere, etc. Plus it is a real accreditted college so you get a degree. They also have degrees for a lot more than programming and modeling so you can specialize more than at Digipen.
Being a Game Design major, I should also warn you that game design involves a whole lot of hard work. It DOES NOT involve sitting around playing games all day, in fact, there will be times when you're much too busy working to do any playing at all (at least if you're serious about learning and doing well, not to mention getting a job). Game schools typically get a steady supply of students who expect to do little except play games, said students usually drop out after a couple of semesters. Game design can be very fun and rewarding but it involves far more work than play. You have been warned.

That aside, I had a very interesting day. Look for the write up in tomorrow's PV news post.

I know,I drew something that took so long, I didn't care about games,I even eat less at school and draw at lunch,in fact,I draw any chance I get at school.

Also, I'll probably go to the one in arizona for the best quality.Lastly, how can a person make sprites like most of the people on this forum?
