"Wow...everyone aroud here is so.....zealous." Stevenson said as he continued walking down the path. "I guess I'll face a trainer if we see one, but I really don't need any more pokemon at the moment...unless a really cool one appears or something." At that instant, a pineco fell out of the tree. "A pineco! It's the most cool and underused pokemon EVER! Well, it's one of the more cool and underused pokemon ever! Must...catch....pineco...but must resist urge to be....overzealous...ARGH!" As Stvenson battled his inner conflict, the pineco attempted to escape, except for that it couldn't walk.

"So... You gonna catch that?" *Glenn asked.*

"Why? Do you want a pineco too?"

"Not particularily. Although having a third pok?mon would be good so I'll catch it if you don't."

Opal watched as the two boys talked over about the Pineco.
"Well, the dex says that's a grey type of pokemon, so that's not worth my time..." She picked up Mudkip.
"Wait, I see something ahead! Is that a lighthouse?" She squinted, looking into the horizen.

"I think I'll leave it...for now." Stevenson said, walking away from the pineco. "I'll get you next time, when I need a third pokemon....oh, I will get a pineco." Stevenson brooded.

"Ok then I guess I'll catch it." *Glenn turned around only to discover that the pineco had already disapeared at some point during their discussion.* "Oh gee, that was a waste of time." *He ran to catch up with Silver and the others.*

*Opal was right, there was something off in the distance. But there was something much closer as well. It was a large group of people and they were blocking the path.*

"Quite a crowd." *Neo commented as they drew closer.* "I wonder what they're all doing here."

"Only one way to find out!" *Curious, Glenn ran on ahead to see what was going on.*

"What's everyone staring at?" Silver asked one of the people that was closer to the back of the crowd.

"Shh! 'The Ron' is battling! Anyone that wants to stand a chance against Wet Willy better shut up and pay attention!" he replied, struggling to get closer to the front.

"'The Ron'? Didn't anyone ever tell him that adding a definite article in front of your name isn't cool?"

"Shhh!"

After significant pushing, shoving, etc., Silver made his way to the front of the crowd. There was a Pokemon battle going on, and apparently, one of the battlers was the previously mentioned 'The Ron'. It was kind of obvious which one he was, because normal trainers don't wear leather vests, chains, and sideways baseball hats. Backwards, maybe, but sideways? Eh... He was using a Charmander and an Ekans, and his opponent, who was apparently just a random n00b trainer, had a Mareep and an Oddish. The Charmander and the Ekans teamed up on the Oddish, using Ember and Bite respectively to knock it out before it had the chance to attack even once. The Mareep then used Thundershock on the Ekans and even inflicted a paralyze condition, but the snake Pokemon's Shed Skin ability came through and cured that. Mareep managed to survive a Poison Sting from the Ekans and a Metal Claw from Charmander, giving it the chance to land a Thundershock on the fire lizard, but one Ember later it was down for the count as well. "Pathetic! You'll never get a Gym Badge like THAT! An Oddish? Hah! Talk about a pansy Pokemon!" 'The Ron' laughed. Don't you just HATE those egotistical show-offs? Well, say hello to our new rival! (Unless of course Shauni would rather fill that position... it would be better to have a total jerk, but that way she could participate in the rp without having to reply frequently. 'The Ron''s color is limegreen, by the way.)
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Opal watched, yawning at the battle.

"Who dares yawn at my battle?" 'The Ron' yelled as the crowd pointed at Opal.
"So, girly, you think I'm boring? I think I can change your mind with a battle." He lifted an eyebrow.

"Ok, I accept the challenge. Double battle, only two pokemon." Opal stepped forward.

"Excellent. Go, Ekans and Hoothoot!" 'The Ron' sent out his snake and owl like pokemon.

Crap, I hoped he used his Charmander...oh well
Opal sent out her Mudkip and Horsea. Luckly, there was a pond right beside them, so Horsea took place there.
"Horsea, use smokescreen!"
The Horsea sent the billard of smoke at the Ekans and Hoothoot.
"Now, use water gun!" Mudkip fired a water gun when the smokescreen was getting faint from the Hoothoot's flapping, hitting the two.

"Not bad." The Ron flipped his hair. "But now it's my turn! Ekans, use Poison sting! Hoothoot, use peck!" The Hoothoot pecked Mudkip, and when Ekans tried to hit Horsea, each time she would go under the water.
"Hiding?" The Ron smirked.

"I'll show you hiding!" Opal grinded her teeth as Horea surfaced and shot the bubble attack at Ekans square in the face.
"Mud-chan, use water gun on the Hoothoot!" Mudkip shot the attack, fainting the Hoothoot.

The Ron's jaw nearly fell to the floor.
"How. Could. You. Do. That?" He gasped as he returned his Hoothoot.
"Must be a fluke..Ekans, use bite on the Mudkip!" The Ekans charge at Mudkip.

"Now, mud slap!" Mudkip shot the muddy attack that hit Ekans right in the eyes.
"Now, attack with Bubble Beam and Water gun while he can't see!" The two attacked, fainting the Ekans.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That's impossible! I want a rematch! Gaaah!" The Ron freaked out as Opal yawned again, returning her pokemon, then headed back to her travelling group.

"Oh, okay. You can battle him I guess." Stevenson said. "It doesn't really look like he's that strong anyways."

"What? What do you mean I'm not that strong? If I had another pokemon, I'd crush you!"

"Wow. When Stevenson said 'overzealous', he was right. On about a hundred levels. It's never hard to beat one of those hot-shot-that-thinks-they're-all-that-and-uses-intimidation-to-win types..." Silver mumbled.

"Hey! I heard that!"

"I'm sure you did... and now I'm wondering just how all these people know your name when I've never heard of you before."

"I'm a legend in Johto! I only came to this waste of space you call Orre to prove that you should be going there instead of telling people to come here!" 'The Ron' yelled. This caused many of the people that had been watching the other battle talked amongst themselves about moving to Johto.

"Oh, that does it..." Silver said angrily to himself. "Say, uh, you've still got that Charmander, right? I've only got one usable Pokemon on me... It's probably breaking some unwritten Orre law, but you'd be more comfortable in a one-on-one battle anyway, wouldn't you Johto-man?" he asked, trying to make it sound as if he didn't care for Orre's traditions.

"Are you asking for a challenge?!" 'The Ron' demanded in Stinkoman-style.

"Well, in a word... YES."

"Charmander did take damage in that other match... but it won't matter. One-on-one battles are MY element, after all; you're asking to be crushed! Go on, Charmander!" he released his slightly weakened Charmander to face the slightly-weakened Pidgey, which had the higher speed so it would get the first move.

"Twister, use Quick Attack!" Silver commanded, the Pidgey jumping from his arms to fly straight at the Charmander as fast as it could.

"Metal Claw!" with claws of steel, the Charmander charged at Twister, but the Pidgey was too fast and flew out of its reach.

"Now, Gust!" still high above the Charmander's head, Twister sent a powerful gust of wind down at the fire Pokemon to drive it into the ground, KO'd. "They could go to Johto... but if they want to see REAL battles, they'd stay here."

"This can NOT be happening! You... I'll get you for this! I'll be back!" 'The Ron' threatened after his Charmander had returned to its Pokeball. He waved a fist in the group's general direction before running off down the path, his hoard of fans following. (Don't worry, everyone else'll get their chance to fight 'im later...)

"Well even then you'll be the TerminatED," Silver joked as he ran off, since he ahd said 'I'll be back' which is, like, Arnold Schwartze... however-you-spell-it's most famous line and everything.

((dude, we should all get rivals that are part of the hoarde of fans. Like, individual rivals! Oh, and I meant to type Stevenson, not Wally in that other post...I fixed it now, you should too....))

"Man, that was...weird." Said Stevenson. "Anyway, I think we're closing in on Gateon now...." he said, as the glistening center of white buildings and tile approached.

"Well, that was intersting." *Glenn followed after the others.* "Hmm... If that guy is supposed to be so famous in Johto how come he only had low level pok?mon? I mean, I did some reading before starting this whole journey and low level pok?mon like ours couldn't compete against someone who has been training for a long time."

"Maybe he made it up and came here cause he couldn't beat anyone in Johto."

"Well," *Glenn was already losing intrest and changed the topic,* "I hope there's some trainers in Gateon. I want to get at least one battle in before the gym."

((I was gonna say... I coulda sworn your character's name was Stevenson in this roleplay.

No, not members of the hoard. That would be, like, fighting Gary's Cheerleaders in the anime. 'The Ron' will get an official group going later on, but he'd be, like, the leader... which is why everyone will get the chance to battle him at one time or another. Leaders fight leaders. Our group has no leader. Well, not really. For now I suppose it seems kind of like Silver is, but that's just because this is my roleplay and I'm basically just enforcing the rules... in character. It won't be like that for long. Or at least not forever...))

"There are plenty of trainers in Gateon. Or at least plenty of people that have Pokemon and will battle you. Wet Willy has a whole bunch of Gym trainers, too, and battling them's always good practice," Silver explained as they neared Gateon. Theya arrived shortly, and needless to say, their first stop was the Pokemon Center.

Opal healed her pokemon and headed out.
"I'm going to explore. Meet you guys at the gym, ok?" She asked, but didn't bother to hear an answer.

Goin out, she battled a few trainers, but something caught her eye....something blue...

"Oh my geeeh!! It's a Swablu!" She yelled as the Swablu rested on a rock in the water. "I'm SO getting that! And nothing can stop me!" She proudly said, sending out Horsea.
"Horse-chan, use bubble!" Opal ordered.

The Swablu got hit, and started to fly away in annoyance.
"Oh no you don't! Horse-chan, use smoke screen!" Horsea made the Swablu stay low because of the smoke.
"Now bubble again!" Swablu got angry and flew by the bubbles, using peck.
"Horse-chan! Stay in there and use bubble again!" Opal thought that was enough and tossed a pokeball. Swablu was caught.

"Yes! Man, that was lucky...I mean, a Swablu in the middle of Gateon Port? Lady Luck must be with me." She smiled, placing a Swablu sticker on her pokeball.
(Yes, she puts stickers on their pokeballs to tell who's in what more easiler)
(And there is an explination for the Swablu. That will come in play a little later)

((Of course there's a reason. Altaria's your favorite pokemon *dies*))

The first thing Stevenson did (after saying to meet the others at a gym) was to seek out a trainer. He did so, and his name was..... not important. What IS important is that he challenged Stevenson to a battle.
"Go, plusle and minun!" shouted the trainer.

"Plusle and minun?" Stevenson shuddered at the sight of the two pikachu rip-offs. "They're so.....so....overused! I must show that overused does not mean good!" Stevenson said with an odd sort of determination. "Go, maya and Gomez!" said Stevenson, and the lotad and Numel appeared out of their pokeballs.
"Plusle, use thunershock on the ugly lillypad thing!" said the random trainer.

" Maya, don't just take that! Use absorb!" said Stevenson, determined not to lose to an overused pokemon. (normally my characters aren't really this into battle.....)
"minun use helpful hand!" minun glowed, and somehow powered up its red counterpart.

"Bwahaha! Gomez, use magnitude!" Stevenson laughed as the ground shook and both foolish electric mice fainted.
"I win! Take that foolish overused pokemon!" Stevenson laughed.
