Now Yuki had just turned back to see Bael bringing his axe up to seemingly be preparing to strike the young girl who she had just met. As well as this, she saw Kusa lying on the ground bleeding. Her immediate thought was that Bael took a fight with Kusa too far, and for some reason was about to attck this little girl. Yuki responded by running up to Bael and kicking him in the face, jumping down, grabbing her zanpakutou and facing Bael in a fighting stance.

The other young girl used this opening and sliced passed Bael and began running towards Rath, at an insanely fast speed.

(i'm off the net for a bit cause our provider "accidentaly" disconnected us... so if i reply, it's while i'm at school)

Bael stumbled back, growling.

"God damn it Yuki!" He said, turning around.

Rath noticed the girl coming at him, and stood his ground.

"I'll show brother what I can do..." In the almost split second she ran past him, he quickly thrust his foot out and tripped her up, leaping torward her as she landed, and pinning her to the ground, his weapon at her neck.

Kaoru found that he could move again, without the threat of being sliced up. He was immediately looking over at the area where Kusa had fallen... But Kusa was no longer laying on the ground. There was only a pool of blood. He immediately began looking around for his younger brother. "Kusa...?"

Kusa was standing a few yards away, holding his head. His wounds were still quite fresh and blood was soaking his hakama, no one could see the red mixing with black. He was breathing heavily, eyes closed. There was a strong current of spiritual pressure churning around him. An inner conflict was occuring and he didn't want to be near the others if it should...

Rune had arrived slightly after Rath had, his katana drawn. He saw the little girl go for his sibling and almost jumped in to defend him until he heard what Rath had said. Instead, he stayed back, prepared to step in later.

Kiku turned a corner into the hallway between the girl and Rath. She collided with the strange young girl (before Rath pinned her to the ground, obviously). Due to the latter's high speed, the Shinigami was knocked aside and into a wall, back in the hallway she had come from. "Wha-" She looked around her rather wildly. "What was that?" Then she glanced at the zanpakutou in her hand. Upon running into the girl, the knife had nicked her in the shoulder. It was a very shallow cut, but Kiku could make out the thinnest coating of crimson on the blade. Slowly, she got to her feet and inched toward Kusa, being careful to not wipe her zanpakutou on anything. She could tell Kagebana was getting excited; he always did when he drew blood.

Kusa blarily opened his eyes to see Kiku inching towards him. His eyes widened and he quickly tried to jump away, stumbling on his landing and hitting the floor. Before he could get back on his feet, a massive exertion of spiritual pressure spilled outward from his body. He cried out, holding his stomach in a doubled over position. "Damn it...! Why now?" Then he switched his unfocused gaze to Kiku. "Stay away... Go help the others! That's an order!"

The girl just stared at Rath, who had her pinned down with a sword to her neck, "Heh, your so naive..." she said, as she faded into Rath's shadow.

Rath stabbed at the girl, but only hit the ground.

The girl rematerialized herself behind Rath, and stabbed him through the back.

Yuki by now had figured out who the enemy was, and just watched as Rath fell after the blow, "r....rath?" she stuttered.

The girl turned to look at Yuki, with a menacing smile on her face. Then dashed towards her.

Yuki managed to overcome the shock as the girl dashed towards her, "Spread your wing, Hayaikaze!" she yelled, expanding the fan just in time to block.

Initially, Kiku was confused. Kusa seemed to be in obvious discomfort, and his reiatsu didn't feel right somehow. But the healer wasn't one to disobey a strict order. She nodded, spun around, and hurried toward Rath instead, whispering "Kawaru." Her dagger glowed and elongated into its staff form. She seized Rath's upper arm and drew him away from Yuki and the other girl. "Please hold still," she instructed him in an undertone, twisting Kagebana around. Bending down, she touched the staff head to the injury in the middle of Rath's back.

Rune was swept up into a raging torrent of emotions as he watched his little brother recieve a severe injury. He felt almost lost... and yet wanted nothing more than to see the little girl meet her end. But he managed to recover himself, unleashing his shikai to go to the aid of Yuki. "Ascend!" His katana broke into the innumerable shuriken that surrounded him, awaiting a command. "Attack the girl but do not hit Yuki." The shuriken raced through the air to comply. Each one struck at the nameless child, attempting to avenge their master's brother.

Kaoru also unsealed his shikai, moving to keep guard of Kiku and Rath. He knew it was actually a useless endevour but he couldn't think of anything else he could do in this battle. Kusa wouldn't allow anyone to go near him and it seemed that he was suffering from some sort of internal conflict. Whatever it was, it made Kaoru feel very uncomfortable.

Yuki fought the girl while not getting in the way of the shurikens, "Who are you?" she asked, while fighting.

"The girl didn't reply, instead, she grabbed Yuki's blade and pulled it away from her. She then took Yuki's blade, stabbing Yuki through the chest, "Your pathetic, talking to your opponent during battle... don't take me lightly..."

Yuki did fall to the ground, she didn't have a shocked expression, instead she had a look of bloodlust all over her face. "bankai..." she said, as her spiritual energy erupted, sending the girl flying.

Kusa had already been pushed past his limit for pain tolerance and he realized he just couldn't keep resisting the force that so desperately wanted out. With a strangled cry, he finally gave in to the all-consuming darkness that was ripping him apart on the inside. Spiritual pressure swirled in currents around his crippled body. He was temporarily blocked from view.

When he was finally revealed, it was no longer Kusa. A hollow's mask was plastered over his faciel features. His eyes had turned gold and were rimmed with black. Even his scythe had gone through a transformation. The handle appeared to have grown thorns all over its surface and the blade had gone red, red as the blood it so often spilled. It was a pretty horrifc sight to behold.

Without addressing anyone at all, the hybrid turned to look at the fallen child with no name. The slitted golden eyes gleamed and a smirk came into view. It was clear what his next move would be. He slowly raised the scythe high above his head, with the intent to bring it down and cleave her flesh open. "You have caused more than enough trouble.", he growled.

Yuki watched Kusa's transformation, "Uh oh!" she said, dashing in front of Kusa, "Calm down Kusa-chan!" she said, staring into Kusa's eyes.

Since their target had been grounded and there was another person standing over her, the shuriken adjusted their attack onto Kusa. Rune did not bother to stop them, since he knew Yuki was in immediate danger. He only gave them a silent command. "Aim for the mask. Try to get it off of him. If that manuver should fail, then aim for some vital points on his body."

Kusa only saw Yuki as another victim and thus was prepared to bring his scythe down upon her as well as the namelss child. The scythe began its descent but never made it close enough to cause any damage. It fell to the ground where it could do no harm. However, its master cried out as multiple shuriken appeared in lightning fast speed and began tearing and shredding the hollow mask on his face.

Kaoru watched all of this happening with a thuroughly confused and upset expression. "Kusa... What are you...? Why...?", he managed to stammer out.

Kiku watched Kusa's transformation with fascination, though not without some nervousness. It was her first time coming across a Vizard, and she wasn't sure if she was liking the experience. Hearing a faint whistling sound, the Shinigami looked up. Yume's flock of ice birds flew down the hallway (they'd somehow gotten lost on the way). Half of them continued their course and joined Rune's shuriken in attacking Kusa's mask while the other half peeled off course and targeted the nameless girl.

Bael just watched Kusa, and closed his eyes. Gripping his fist. He shot his eyes open and ran towards him, reaching for the mask
