Call of Origin 2: The Elemental War

Within an hour, Israfel had finally woken up, only to wish he'd still been asleep. His head was causing him so much pain that he wished he'd been in a coma. But that was soon the least of his concerns. The visions he'd seen while unconscious were still fresh in his mind. Was he really a threat to Trik...? Was everything his double had said true? Only time would reveal the truth. For now, he felt the strong urge to get up... and walk...

Rem glanced around at his all-too suddenly changed surroundings, and smiled. He then turned to Mei and threw his arms around her shoulders in a hug. "You're such a delight! Just today Granite finally let me out of that blasted cage and now I'm already away from the whole base.", he said cheerily. "Ahem. But you're right. While we're searching for... Maya, was it? We can still get in some observations on Trik and his friends."

Dirge was feeling almost as happy as Rem was about finally escaping the base, even if it was just for a little while. A smile crept onto his lips as he stared at other two. "So, are we going to explore as a group or shall we split up and meet back at this spot in an hour? I'm fine with whatever really...", he said casually.

Louanne, sitting near where Israfel had been resting, looked up at him. "Oh, you woke up." She sounded relieved. "You okay? Your expression doesn't look too good, and I've been getting these...sort of...pain spasms from you. Mentally, that is." She was watching him with concern mixing with anxiety in her expression. "And...I don't really think walking around is a great idea given your current state."

(Gee, she's starting to turn into some sort of human tuning station...)

Israfel turned to look at Louanne, and nodded. He moved back to the cot and sat down. "You're right... I still don't feel very well. But I'm worried. Tell me... Was Trik all right?", he asked softly, closing his eyes.

Louanne sighed and leaned against the wall. "I guess he is...He's still upset over Simeon's death, that's all. And about the whole Ragnarok's-gonna-kill-us-all issue. But who isn't?" She shook her head. "Anything I can get you? Water or a snack or something?"

Israfel managed a polite smile as Louanne offered him something. "Oh... No thank you, Miss Louanne. I'm really not sure I could keep anything down at the moment.", he replied. He then folded his hands in his lap and closed his eyes. "However, whenever it is convenient for him, I would very much like to speak with Trik. I can't really say that it's urgent, but I have some things I would like to ask him about. And perhaps after that... I should see a doctor or medical personnel."

Trik finally opened his eyes. He looked out the window from his chair. He still didn't think that he was the right person for this job, but he had to do it. He opened a drawer in the desk hew as sitting next to and picked up the communicator. "Silver, both of us need to evacuate our current locations. Somethings about to happen. We need to meet back up somewhere else. Any ideas?"

Dirge turned invisible just outside of the door leading into Trik's office and then proceeded to phase through said door. He reached into his pocket and held a small disc within his hand. When he was next to Trik's desk, he carefully pulled the disc out and placed it right in the center of the desk. Then he exited the room and went to meet up with Rem. "What was that? And why did Trik have to see it?"

Rem smirked, tapping his claws along his crossed arms. "That was some stolen data on a project that Ragnarok created. It refers to the so-called angel that inhabits this base. I felt like stirring up a little commotion and this should do quite nicely."

Dirge blinked and then sighed. "You are indeed an insane feral child. Let's get out of here and go find Mei." The two of them then disappeared.

Mei was running through the hallways "Dang, where's Maya gotten herself this time?" Instead of finding Maya, she ran into Akari who was walking out her room.

"Oww..... wait, nee-san? What are you doing here?" she asked

"Sorry sis, I can't get you involved in this" she said... running down the hall quickly.

Lyn was walking down the hall and Mei ran right into her.... she really doesn't pay attention to what right in front of her *sigh* "Not again..."

"Watch where you're goin... sheesh." Lyn said, getting up.

(I'm skipping just a bit of time, not much.)

Israfel had recovered from his sudden siezure enough to get up from the cot and slowly walk back down to Trik's office. But when he became tired after the short walk, he realized that he probably should try to take it easy. The boy didn't even know what was wrong with him in the first place. He raised a pale hand, about to knock on the door, when he heard Trik talking inside. It was best that he didn't interrupt the leader. Instead, he leaned against the wall and waited.

Dirge and Rem were both sneaking around the base, attempting to locate either Mei, Maya, or hopefully both.

Dirge clung to the shadows of the hallways as though they were a refuge. He desperately hoped that he and Rem didn't run into anyone other than their intended companions along the way. It would not do to be captured by the Havenites, especially when they weren't even supposed to be outside of Ragnarok's base. The thought sent a shudder up his spine. If the Havenites didn't kill them, then the dark master surely would, and it would be... The boy couldn't fathom words to describe it.

Rem happened to catch the sudden collision between Mei and Lyn out of the corner of his eye, and he reached out to grab Dirge's arm and stall their running. "Stop. She's over there, and she's bumped into someone.", he said quietly. "I don't think the other girl has realized that Mei's an enemy yet... We should stay out of sight until they part ways. Then... We need to have a quick talk with Mei. I have an idea..." The Feral Child smirked as he heard Dirge sigh softly.

Trik's voice came about on the intercom of the office building. "Havenites, Ragnarok is headed our way with an army of his own. Staying here would be suicide. We're going to regroup with Silver. Everyone meet in the 5L parking lot in 5 minutes. Trik, out."

He lowered the microphone, and pushed himself to his feet. He had finally gotten a hold of himself. He turned to the door but stopped, glancing at a disk on his desk. He glanced around, and swooped it up. There was no time to look at it now.

For the first time in awhile, the door to Trik's office opened, and he walked out, glancing to his right, and noticing his protige, Israfel. He smiled. "Let's go."

Mei began to reply "I dunno what kinda power you have but..." she dashed over, knocking Lyn out, "The masters gunna be here soon so... I need to go." She then walked over to where Rem and Dirge were hiding, "I knew you guys were here.... you didn't cause a commotion did you?" she said, directing the question mostly at Rem.

Israfel looked up as Trik came out of the office. Their leader seemed to have gotten himself together. The angel was glad for that. He slowly pushed away from the wall, moving closer to Trik, his steps unstable. "I'm sorry to ask this of you... but I have to talk to you about something. If you'd rather, we can talk while we're heading down to the parking lot...", he said softly.

Dirge was about to answer Mei's question when a clawed hand clamped itself down over his mouth, silencing him.

Rem knew that the question was meant for him, and he smirked again. "I hardly think you should be worrying about such things. It appears we've all failed to find Miss Maya." The Feral Child effectively dodged giving a truthful answer.

"Mei, why don't you go on and head back to Ragnarok without us? It's not like he really wants us around anyway. Besides, while the two of us are here, we can blend in with the elementals in the parking lot and search out Maya for you.", he said in his most persuasive tone. Though, both he and Dirge had never actually seen Maya before, which conflicted his plan. The child was just trying to find a way of preventing his, and strangely enough, Dirge's return to the dark master.

"Ok, suit yourselves." said Mei, leaving the headquarters.

-----------down at the parking lot------------

Maya was just standing around with the other elementals, the unstable nature of her reincarnation had cause some major headaches but she had herself together.... for now.

"Hi Spirn!" said Akari, appearing beside Maya.

"W-who are you?" Maya asked, "And how do you know that name?"

"I'm Mei's sister" she replied, "And your just a victim of my sisters transformation ability.... Spirn." she continued.

"I'm not sure I'm understanding..." said Maya, a little confused.

"That's ok, you'll understand when the time comes for the black angel to fly again..." Akari stated. Before Maya could ask another question, Akari teleported away from parking lot.

Trikb rought his hands up to help steady Israfel, helping him walk toward the parking lot. "Whats up?"

Israfel closed his eyes, assured that Trik wouldn't let him collapse. "I'm fairly sure that you're unaware of this... but after you went into your office, I collapsed. There was a terrible pain in my head and then I believe I suffered a seizure. My head hit the wall and... I was unconscious for some span of time."

"While unconscious, I had some kind of wierd dream. I saw myself in a lab. I had just fallen out of a pod. Someone walked up, examining me... Then I was staring at another Israfel, only this one was evil. He was saying strange things. But he said one thing that really concerned me. I think that maybe I... I'm a threat to you somehow. Trik, I'm scared..."

Rem and Dirge reached the parking lot, easily blending into the large crowd of elementals. Both were exceptionally close to Maya's location, though neither one would have recognized her.

Rem placed his clawed hands on his hips, looking around at all the other elementals. Even though he detested the normality of others, he was still glad to just be away from Ragnarok and his whole damn base. "Well, so far so good. I'm fairly sure that we won't be missed anyway. Eh, Dirge?", the child said, turning to look at his friend. The sight caused a sweatdrop of annoyance on his forehead.

Dirge seemed to be suffering from mild convulsions. He had pulled the hood of his hoodie up over his head, placing his eyes in darkness. Though, since he wore black eye smudge around his eyes, they were always dark. But the main point was that he seemed to be really uncomfortable. Ah, the boy was out of his element. The darkness and isolation of Ragnarok's base had soaked into his soul. "Rem... I'm not in the mood to talk. So shut up."

"You're pathetic. Try to act at least half-way normal and decent. We need to blend into the crowd and you freaking out like this isn't helping."

"I said shut up, you brat!"
