My Poems

Hum... my first poem for in a long time...

When I first saw you I knew you were mine.
Things just happen to fit together you and me.
We would go out and have the time of our lives.
The movies, the dinners, the plays were things we both enjoyed.
We hugged and kissed from time to time but nothing more.
We wanted the moments to last, bid our time.

I begin to dream sweet dreams.
Of flowers, and dresses, and a wedding ring.
Then one day I came over to surprise you
only to be surprised myself.
You had another, one who you loved more.
How long has you been doing this behind my back?
Who was this new love? I shall never know.

You tried to explain, that this wasn't what it seemed.
But your words fell onto deaf ears.
I ran out never to see you again.
My heart has been crushed, I may never love again.

Thats quite good, I think if it just had one more verse it would be perfect, like, who was the new love? and all that jazz

Keep it up, you could be really good at this stuff ^^

I'm toying with 2 ideas for some more poems. I havn't done poems for awhile and forgot how fun they can be. Practice will make me better :)

Are you the one who was ment for me?

When I was young my mother told me this.
She said that when I start to love I should always ask myself
if He is the one that was meant for me.
I have kept this in my heart for her.

My first love came when I was young. I didn't know love then but
I still ask myself.
Are you the one? The one meant for me?

Well as all puppy love goes this didn't last long.
O I had crushes but nothing to spark the words.
The came high school. Dating came.
I wasn't very active in dating. I would let them come instead.

The first was the class president. We went out and I asked myself
Are you the one? The one meant for me?
Well, it lasted for a year but no more.

I went out with many people always asking that one question.
None were the one meant for me.

College came up fast and I found more people to love.
Always asking the question my mom taught me.

Then one day I meet him. My heart jumped as I asked myself,
Are you the one? The one meant for me?
Things seemed to click for him and me.
I truly believed he was meant for me.

But this too did not last and my heart was crushed.
For a long time after I dated more but the question was lost
I didn't feel like asking it any more.

I was at a bar doing my usual rounds when a guy walked in.
My heart again jumped and we talked. We left together
and I caught myself asking
Are you the one? The one who was meant for me.

Things seemed to fall together. Like part of a puzzle.
We had similar likes and dislikes. We seemed perfect.
That was 10 years ago.

Now I'm surrounded by family and friends with my father at my side.
I look forward and smile as I tell myself.
He is the one.
He is the one who was meant for me.

That's what happend here. The title came from a line in Chobits. Well, story that was told through out the season :)

Darkness of the Heart

There is darkness in my heart caused by a love
This darkness has caused me to become cold and bitter to anyone near me
I toy and play games with those who try to toss out my darkness
and in the end causes me to be more dark and bitter
and cause some of it to rub off onto them.

Then one day you came. Another trying to do what many failed to do.
You came to me with warmth and open hands and heart.
I played your game and toyed with your feelings.
Making you believe you were doing something.
But you did do something. You caused a spark.
Small and almost no existent, but still there.
This spark slowly grew and a light formed, small but still there.
Then the light grew causing the darkness to flee and the cold to warm.

But it was too late. You were gone. You waited and waited but it took too long.
The darkness came back and the warmth cooled.
But all wasn't lost. Your efforts weren?t in vain.
The light still holds some ground. Maybe another can cause it to grow again.

A Dream

I dreamed a dream of a world so
dark and desalt that it aced my soul.
Not a person could be found
and dark clouds encompassed the sky.

The rain that fell seemed to fall like tear drops
as if they were crying for such a sad and deprived world.
Then I spotted the first of many who looked like they
were living a life of nothingness. Just going about their ways.

I tried to search for you. Someone to bring joy to
such a sad and deprived world. I searched everywhere
in everyplace I could find but still no sign of you.

My heart began to fell like this world. I was becoming a part of it.
Then my eyes opened as I awoke.
There lying beside me was you. The one that brings joy to my life.
I smiled as I kissed you on the forehead. I went back to sleep
and dreamed a better dream.
One with you in it.
