Yeah... I know you have a bunch more there.... My dad looked it up before, and we were both like "Wha? Bring those books to the US! We wants to read them!"
Haha, I did not know that. That's kind of amazing, how it turned into an awesome series.

It's in the about the author bit at the back of the books. Or at least it is in my copies. Now I feel like reading them again. ^_^

I haven't looked in this thread for ages, and today I thought to myself, 'I'm enjoying the Ranger's Apprentice books. I should reccomend them on Pebble Version'. Apparently, that particular need has already been filled, so that's a good thing.
I also feel the need to plug The Lies of Locke Lamora...again? I can't recall if I ever did plug it here. Regardless, you should read The Lies of Locke Lamora. It's awesome, and its sequel (Red Seas Under Red Skies) is also very good. Now, if only Scott Lynch would release the next book in the series, which was originally slated to be released in February.

Now that I've read the entire Percy Jackson series and the first Max Ride book, I figured I'd drop in with my opinions on them as a kind of update to my last big post here.
Percy Jackson: Took me a little while to get into it, but a pretty good series overall. It's interesting to see all the Greek mythology (mostly correctly handled) placed in a modern setting and the story and character are all fun and well written. It didn't grab me as much as say Harry Potter or Pendragon did, but it's still a series I'd recommend.
Max Ride: I've read the first book so far. It's not bad and it's pretty well written. That said, I don't find it all that incredible either. I'll probably read the rest sooner or later as I'm somewhat curious as to where it's going with a couple of plot elements, but so far both the characters and basic plot seem fairly generic (brave leader girl, strong silent guy, girly girl, mischievious kid, etc on the run from evil scientists who were using them as lab rats). Nothing too wrong with that, but it's one of those setups that I've seen so many times before that it needs to be really spectacular in order to stick out. There were a couple hints that the plot might get a lot more interesting later on, so I may revise my opinion after read more, but that's my current thoughts.
As for what I'm reading now... I just got my copy of The Gathering Storm (the new Wheel of Time book) yesterday. WoT is my favorite epic fantasy series and, although the author (Robert Jordan) sadly died a couple of years back, he had extensive notes on what would happen in the remainder of the series which were passed on to Brendan Sandersen, another excellent fantasy writer. Thing is, I haven't actually started it yet because, once I do, I probably won't want to stop. And, since I still have sprites for my game project that need to be finished ASAP, I'll probably hold off until Monday or Tuesday.
Well after 2.5 years of not going on I've finally read Wolfs of the Calla of the Dark Tower series by Steven King. Read the first 4 books back in 06 and early 07 then bought the rest and just now read book 5.
Oh and for the Max series I accidently read the middle book without realizing it was the middle (done that with another series but it was book 3). I like it soo far and need to find book 1 and 3.
Wow that reminds me, I still need to read the final book in that series, thanks Neo! On top of that, I really want to find the time to finish the Prince of Nothing series, I'm about a quarter of the way through the final book now.
I read The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss a few weeks back. It's pretty long (over 600 pages) but it's a good read if you like fantasy. It's all told as a flashback from the main character, Kvothe, whose snarky comments make it pretty funny. His flashback self is full of sarcasm and wit too. Let's just say I wouldn't want to challenge him to an insult swordfight .

The Haruhi anime and manga (like a decent amount of anime and manga) are based off a series of Japanese light novels. FYI: A light novel is a normal novel, just one that's not overly long (I think they average in the 100-200 page range, though I may be a little off). Other popular anime and manga based off light novels include Slayers, Wolf & Spice, Kino's Journey, and Moribito, just to name a few. Happily, English releases of light novels are starting to become a little more common these days (though still pretty unusual).
Oh yeah, I've been reading the second Haruhi novel, too... Got it a little while ago but just barely started because my priority was finishing Harry Potter. Which I did. I have now read all of the seven main books, and alls I have to say is...
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate." Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.
