Looking Back:
Here we've got the first appearance of the man in the dark room and his assistant. This guy was always part of my planned story, though it's not until much much later that his identity is revealed and he begins to take a more active role in things. But I decided to introduce him early as a bit of a tease. Of course, the main reason for the totally dark room is that the guy has a special sprite which people might recognize. But I couldn't let that go without an explanation and and a joke. In the end, it took a lot longer than I expected to get to the part where his identify is revealed, so he stays in the dark for quite a while and his constant lighting problems turned into a running gag. |
